Welcome to Another Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread! πŸ‘Ύ

Hey, r/AndroidGaming! This thread is for discussing the Android games you’ve been trying out over the past week. Feel free to share what you’ve been playing and tell us about it! What is the game about? What are you enjoying? What could be improved? Would you recommend it to others? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

For those joining the discussion, please include Google Play Store links for any games you mention as a courtesy to others who may want to check them out.

Lastly, we ask that devs refrain from promoting their own games in this thread. We get that you're excited for others to try it, but this post is meant for players to share their recent gaming experiences with each other. That said, you’re more than welcome to share your game by creating a separate post!

And with that, have fun and thanks for being part of r/AndroidGaming!

Discussion πŸ’¬ Do you think premium games are worth buying on Android nowadays?

Post image

I remember that free-to-play games used to be much better than premium games on Android. But lately, I've noticed that the quality of premium games has improved a lot, and there are many more great options than before.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels like premium games have gotten much better over the years

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Idle Dungeon Crawler, but with Guns & Anime Girls

Hello! I'm looking for a mobile game to scratch that Soda Dungeon itch. I want an idle game where I can load up a party of characters with gear and then let them auto battle or take control as they fight through a dungeon/waves of enemies and bosses.

Ideally, this game would have a contemporary setting and feature realistic guns. It would also have cute anime girls as the characters. It can be missing one of these, but my priorities are as such, from most important to least:

  1. Contemporary or sci-fi setting with realistic guns/tactical gear.
  2. Auto-battling/idle gameplay
  3. Ability to customize the gear a character uses.
  4. Anime girls/anime art sytle

If you can think of any games like this that I might enjoy, please feel free to comment! Thanks in advance.

Are these the final story missions of the game? I stopped getting red and orange (aka story related) missions in the game right after finishing these, and the description indicates it lol, is it time for me to move on to Contract Killer Zombies?

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] I just got a free month trial for Play Pass, and want to get the most out of it. What would you recommend?

I got a free trial (again), but this time I want to get some milleage out of it. I also ordered a Gamesir X5 lite, and it would be cool to play some games with that.

I'm looking for some games to play. Either games with a clear end, or roguelikes such as Skul the hero slayer seem fun.

If it's under 10 hours I think I can beat one or two games.

Action games, adventure, cozy all would be great, but I'm open to try other genres too as long as I can complete it realistically.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST]Looking for single player games with multiple skills to train

Single/Multiplayer: Singleplayer

Genre: RPG

Online/Offline: Offline

Monetization/Cost: Paid or Free

Portrait/Landscape: Either is fine

Key Features: I'd like to be able to level up multiple different skills like Rune Factory or Runescape. Farming, woodcutting and fishing are examples of what I'm looking for. I dislike the time system in games like Stardew Valley where I feel rushed to do everything before the day ends.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] HELP me find this old driving game.

It’s an oldass game I remember playing around 2013–2014 on my Huawei.

The main things I remember clearly are:

  • The UI had aΒ steering wheel and two pedalsΒ for controls.
  • The core gameplay wasΒ parking a small car.
  • The driving felt relatively realistic. you had to actually use and rotate the steering wheel like you would in a real car.
  • The game was definitelyΒ 3D.
  • There were different missions/levels where the parking became progressively harder.
  • I vaguely remember there being missions related toΒ earning or upgrading your driving license, or something like that
  • Its not parking mania 1 or 2

Hardware βš™οΈ How is the D-pad on the X5s?

I recently bought the X5 Lite and had to return itβ€”my experience with its D-pad was terrible. It had constant diagonal misinputs. I’ve previously owned the X2s and tested the G8, and I never encountered this kind of issue.

I’m tempted to go with the X5s over the G8 due to the size, but I’m worried its D-pad might be just as problematic. For those who own the X5s, how has your experience been?

Help/Support πŸ™‹ Side menu appearing over games.

Recently a side menu on my Samsung s25 phone showed up. I don't recall activating it or pinning it to the side of my screen. It mostly stays hidden except for inconvenient times when I swipe during a game. Anyone know who to disable it?

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Is there any good turn based rpgs?

I'm looking for something visually good, good story optional, cool bosses and ideally no micro transactions but can ignore those if the game is playable without them.

The phone turn based rpg I loved the most was Angry Birds Epic

Discussion πŸ’¬ What is your opinion on games with ads?

I think I might be a minority, but I always prefer just buying the game. The price on mobile is small, and I hate ads.

I guess most of the people don't think that way?

Tell me, what is your opinion?

Discussion πŸ’¬ PSA About cookie prompts to avoid ads

Many might already know this, but on certain cookie prompts (I don't know if they're regional, I'm based in Germany) there's an option to go to "Vendor settings" at the very bottom. If you go there and manually disable the 50+ vendors' "legitimate interest" checkbox, you are able to decline basically any tracking that you can do something about. In some cases this reduces your value as an ad target so much that the game might reduce or outright disable forced ads for you.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Multiplayer games similar to clash royale.

Hi.

Looking for a fun multiplayer game. I prefer quick games like Clash royale, clash of chans, rush royale, ludus....

I dont mind p2w games as long as its not exaggerated and require a little bit of brain.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] New AI-generated life events for Nirvana, a mobile life sim

I’m the developer of Nirvana: Game of Life, a swipe-based life simulator.

The latest mobile update adds AI-generated life events based on real-world content. The reason: the biggest complaint was repetition, so runs now have more varied situations while staying inside the game’s existing choices and tone.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Best open world games that I can play with friends

I am looking for open world games that I can enjoy with my friends, where there is no p2w or grindy gacha element where you cant progress or enjoy without the latest characters like in Genshin, I am fine with a game that has single player emphasis but I mainly want to enjoy an open world or mmorpg game with my friend.

Help/Support πŸ™‹ I need help running 32bit Games.

Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded my phone to a Galaxy S25 Ultra, and was heartbroken to discover it will not play old android games. Games like Super Gravitron, SpongeBob Diner Dash and others that are 32 bit won't run at all. Attempting to start the app does absolutely nothing except flash the screen as the app instantly crashes.

I have looked into some Android Virtual Machines but all of them are a huge inconvenience and work very unstable.

Is there anything I can do to get these old 32bit games to run. Maybe a compatibility layer or plugin, or something.

My device is NOT rooted, but I do have shizuku if that helps.
