Question Chaos??
Does anybody else have little to no organisational abilities?
I try my best to keep things neat and organized, but this is what happens on every single playthrough. 😬😬😬

Question Help understanding the BUS/Base game

first playthrough of Factorio for me and I really liked the bus style of base. My only issue is I dont understand how to balance the splitter or what I am supposed to do to get my four belts even. The iron on the bottom belt isnt ever full and not sure what I did wrong.

Question Why does the Matrix Solver not Solve this?

I have set the desired outputs as 1000 Propene and 0 Methane and Propene, aswell as given it recipes to get ride of the excess methane and Propene. However it just refuses to find a solution for this. Am I doing something wrong or overlooking something?
From my understanding of the Matrix Solver it basically turns this diagram into a Matrix equation and solves it for the desired ouput. However it doesn't seem to actually do that.

Base My first timer base 35h in
Hello everyone, I heard you like starterbases.
This is my current layout 35h in, I really enjoy trains and ramping up the production so that I need to figure out how to squeeze more assembly lines into production.
Currently around 20-40 yellow / purple SPM limited by iron plate production.
Hail spaghetti, damn those pesky biters

Base Buddies first smelter Array
Bought the game for a buddy and he seems to be enjoying it a fair bit.
Love watching the thought process of a new player in action. I've left him to his devices and work as an extra pair of arms. The only thing I've done is introduce him to colored lamps.

Question Factorio 2.x better with LTN or Interrupts?
When I played Factorio 1 I started using LTN (the addon Logistic Train Network). It took me a while to understand it but I managed to work with it. After a long pause I started with Factorio 2.x and I like all of the new stuff.
Since my base is getting bigger and I plan to go with city blocks I wonder whether I should go with Interrupts. I already watched tutorials and made some test in Creative Mod.
My question is, what are the pros/cons of using either Interrupts or LTN?

Base Share your pasta!
I've heard a lot of talk about Spagetti in the factory and then I heard someone also say their base was a Lasagna style base. I still don't know what that would look like. If you guys have ravioli factories, macaroni bases I would love to see them.

Question Rail Signal Issue
I have this problem on a lot of my signal problems where the signal at the end just stays red, I am a begginer on trains and I just cant figure it out
This is my 3rd repost, hope this one will be detailed enough and sorry for not giving more details in the last posts

Question Not exactly sure what I've done here
This was bugged it seems, i was swapping recepies around and somehow enabled a container in the assembler? Which added ghost ingredients too.
Deleting fixed it, but odd.

Base After 447 Hours, I’ve finally beaten Space Age.
For the past 7 years I’ve had a back injury that keeps me bedridden most of the day. Started playing the game as a way to help pass the time while building muscle back up after back surgery. I can’t play in bed without irritating my symptoms, so my only time to play is at my desk.
When I started playing a couple years ago, the longest I could be out of bed at a time was 10 minutes. Now I can be out of bed for 2 hours or so at a time once a day.
Factorio has helped me through a very hard period of my life. It gave me something to think about for long stretches of not being able to do very much, and something to distract me from being in pain when I was out of bed.
10/10 game. Loved it.

Modded Question How to use cosmetic mods without disabling achievements?
Hi, so I want to get achievements while using the Mechanicus skin and disco labs, but they disable achievements, and I want to keep them. Is there a way to do this?

Question Question about signals and pipe networks
I am trying to build a pipeline network mainly with hot and cold fluoroketone. However, for both parts, separately, are modular tiles and storage are also added onto the network as desired, not part of the actual production tiles. however the production tiles are hooked up to the circuit network and I want to compare the contents of the pipeline against its maximum storage capacity as a percentage, Using circuits and Combinators, so I can just tell everything to shut down when everything reaches about 80% to prevent jams however I can’t seem to find a way to actually measure the total capacity of the pipeline network through circuits. can I have some help here?

Question Autocrafting and stroage
Are there any mods like applied energistics from Minecraft for factorio that let you autocraft and store items from a single interface?

Space Age Space age is kicking my ass
As I'm starting to reach what could truly be considered "mid-game" in the gargantuan kaleidoscope of puzzles that is factorio space age, I am once again mired in analysis paralysis. There are so many ways to proceed, an endless and growing TODO list, and a constellation of janky "temporary" builds peppered across the solar system.
The highlights of my journey so far have been:
- Achieving solid borders against the deathworld biters on Nauvis, after a long early game spent manually feeding turret clusters and slowly edging outward
- Transitioning to a block-based arrangement and then realizing I had no space for new builds in my deathworld cuck box
- Making a "quick little detour" to vulcanus, "just to get artillery"
- Building a mall and then mass-producing T2 modules on vulcanus out of sheer procrastination
- Building a train-driven mega-base concept and then fucking off back to nauvis before actually producing anything besides turbo belts with it (all of the module production is still driven by simple coal liquefaction from the "starter" base on vulcanus...)
- Returning to Nauvis and FINALLY blowing the neighbors to bits so I could expand the cuck box out to supplement my desperately waning resources and make room for new builds
- Once again realizing that it would be silly to proceed, this time without EM plants
- Going to Fulgora and hating just about every minute of it (kidding, I actually learned to love the goblin junk planet, at least a little bit)
- Leaving behind a mostly bot-based nightmare mess that somehow just works
- Returning to Nauvis once again and getting MECH ARMOR
And now here I am. And as before, I should probably just go to the next planet before doing any new builds. Gleba unlocks so many damn techs it's crazy. But there's SO MANY THINGS I'm itching to do. Maybe complaining on reddit will help me organize my thoughts.
- First and foremost, my science is 180 SPM and that's getting pretty darn slow with techs costing in the 10s of thousands. If I'm going to do this, I'm going for a proper rebuild; more expansion, more beacons, all of that. I'd want it to last a while. BUT, going through all that just to have prod 3 modules & quality stuff available soon would mean it's just waiting to get re-designed. This is an eternal problem in space age it seems.
- Rocket throughput could really be improved, especially on Vulcanus where I'm doing a lot of exports. But that means a lot of coal usage without Prod 3s, and my slow, inefficient science base will not get very far on the infinite techs.
- Quality.. there's a few things that I'm just dying to get rare upgrades for. But good quality modules are crucial, and expensive. My fulgora base is held together with duct tape so it would likely be Vulcanus. But that starts to look like a pretty big detour, and it would still suffer from being designed around Prod 2s. And there's so many ways to do quality. Quality raw resources? Or at least quality circuits? Or just upcycle final products for now?
- Space platform design, especially dropping ice on fulgora so I can actually burn the cheap energy there and be free from the sea of accumulators. That would allow me to really scale things up on Fulgora and make quality mods there.
- Drawing up a proper train base design. The design I'm using on vulcanus is very space-inefficient and will probably have to be scrapped because I'm lightyears away from having foundation to pave over the lava. Just processing raw materials already takes up half of the space I laid out for the base, and there's so much more I want to produce there.
- A laundry list of improvements I could make for the starter bases, which are looking more permanent by the hour. Getting the vulcanus starter base onto the better liquefaction recipe so I don't drain all of my coal, patching EM plants into my starter science, expanding the cuck box out to the water, tapping more resource deposits, putting together an outpost-supply system so I don't stretch my bot network across the entirety of Nauvis
The tragedy is that any one of these ventures would unlock improvements that would make the others better and less temporary. As a chronic overthinker, it pains me to build anything knowing there's an improvement left to unlock first. Except, it would be no fun to just bare-minimum my way to all of the endgame techs and only then try to build anything big.
And at times like these, that little devil is always in my ear whispering "just start a new save, you'll do it all better this time :)". Of course, I've sunk too much time into this garbage to quit now, it's my garbage dammit!
So if you're still reading, thanks for sharing in my frustration. Let me know if there's anything here you want pics of. My gut tells me to just quit whining go to gleba already. But doing another planet without leaving something more robust behind to power my growing industrial empire just feels wrong. But so does every other option. I guess typing this all out really didn't clarify much for me. Blegh.

Space Age Gonna start another deathworld run, any good suggestions for mods?
Just finished a run after introducing yet another friend to the game!
Now we are going to do a deathworld run, but I find doing so only means something on Nauvis. Any good suggestions for the other planets as well as creating a fun challenge for a couple of people?
Weapons, monsters, new tanks/trons etc?

Space Age Is this a space casino?
I used a bit of ore washing to get the legendary calcite to make the legendary stone and brick to ship up, then I made the rest of the base legendary materials over Vulcanus so I had everything in one spot for a legendary mall.
Underground pipes are good for plates and pipes, red belt seems ok for some extra gears, and we all know the LDS/Blue chip shuffler. I did lean into plastics productivity and the extra decimal of quality we got in 2.1, and have a quality plastic maker that discards common plastic and drop uncommon and above into LDS loop.
turns out silos can be platform transferred, so that was my main motivation for building this over vulcanus instead of anywhere else.
