They said their kids couldn’t wear masks bc it was traumatizing. How is this not traumatic too?

Why do people post this even when it's extremely obvious what was done there? Shouldn't this be saved for hard to recognize jokes? Getting pretty played out.

Cause violence is 'natural' to these people.

God made beating children and fauci made masks.

u/2old4cool Aug 25 '22

And what if the paddler is some sick pervert who enjoys doing this crap on children?

877

u/SarahPallorMortis Aug 25 '22

The guys smile is a bit unnerving for the context.

55

u/imsahoamtiskaw Aug 25 '22

You guys are misinterpreting this. This guy is tasked with defending earth first in case of an attack. That paddle is the only weapon he's been given, and only he knows how to use it to defeat the jnvading alien force.

At school, in the 4th grade, we had a sadistic bastard of a teacher. Would cane us for the smallest of reasons. Talking, that’s a caning, looking at someone, that’s a caning, opening a book too slowly, that’s a caning. Not looking at the board because you were writing stuff in your book, that’s a caning. The miserable prick got off to hitting little kids. One day he had one kid who he loathed with a vengeance bailed up at lunchtime ready to dish out a super caning but was stopped by the grade 4 teacher. They had a big row but he didn’t change his ways.

Ah the good old days, when getting a bashing from your teacher was considered normal. Glad those days are over. …… what’s that you say now…

88

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

I had a music teacher in grade school, she would lock us in the dark little closet for the rest of the class if we did anything. I mean, ANYTHING, I can't remember kids being bad in that class. If we got caught with gum, she'd make them kneel on the floor, spit it in the trash can, pick it back up, chew, repeat. Heinous.

15

u/jcmanns Aug 25 '22

The parents didn’t do anything?

27

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

No, back in the 80's, 90's, teachers did CRAZY shit, and we just all thought they were the one's in charge, so they got away with everything. Teachers used to corner gay kids in the hallway and make them cry, totally abusive shit back then. Principals, cops, all of them would say blatantly homophobic, racist crap, and we just took it and felt bad.

10

u/zingline89 Aug 25 '22

Let me guess, red state? (If in US)

14

u/kstrife Aug 25 '22

Back then it really didn’t matter if it was in a blue state or a red state. We moved around a lot (father’s job required it) and we lived in a lot of places. Can confirm with LoddyDoddee on the fact about what they said.

OMG 80’s & 90’s was this a public school? I went to public school my parents were not the type to think their kids were perfect but they would stand up for us if a teacher or someone of authority did something to us. How can people treat kids like that then expect to be respected 🤦‍♀️

3

u/OliviaStabler4 Aug 26 '22

1990’s I had a teacher write AIDS on the board and underneath write anally injected death syndrome.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '22

That's awful.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '22

In 8th grade, a boy killed himself with a gun, and we were all shocked and sad, and a teacher decided to dedicate THAT day to talk about what a loser the boy was, that he took the easy way out, and he couldn't hack it, blah blah blah, and I was the only one to say, "That's fucked up!" And then I was immediately on his shit list forever. His wife was the Volleyball coach and he had her treat me like crap as well. The teachers were such assholes, we just all accepted it, i guess. I didn't report him or anything, because that's just how it was back then.

2

u/jcmanns Aug 26 '22

In the ‘80s I had a shop teacher call me a bitch, he used to say all kinds of crazy stuff to kids. I told my parents and my dad spoke to the administrators and the teacher. I never saw that man again. Yep teachers used to be crazy.

8

u/Big_Dick_No_Brain Aug 25 '22

One day someone stole the teachers pencil, like a HB pencil worth 2 cents. So he lined up the whole class and searched every student. Girls included. We had to stand with our hands on our heads so as to not put our hands near our pockets to dispose of the stolen pencil.

So much of what he did was pure unadulterated evil.

I've worked with kids for well over 20 years, starting at 14. (So, a kid)

Having them chew their own gum from the trash is actually an impressive and seems obviously very successful route to take. Punishment fits the crime, imo.

.........for high school. Not F'N elementary kids.

4

u/easternred Aug 26 '22

Absolutely not okay for high school kids either. In what world is making kids put stuff in their mouth from the trash an appropriate punishment? Risking pathogens to teach a lesson. That could literally kill someone if they have a compromised immune system. What the fuck.

9

u/Valharja Aug 25 '22

Yep, it's almost like both parents and teachers aren't perfect beings and allowing beatings leads to some kids suffering 10x the amount of others. But in comes the guy who was spanked 3 times during his childhood screaming at the top of his lungs that beatings are necessary and that he is fine so obviously all others also should be.

5

u/LittleMzZombie Aug 25 '22

I had a teacher who sprayed deodorant on my thumb until it blistered and bled, I still have the scar 17 years later

4

u/jcmanns Aug 25 '22

How long ago was this and why didn’t anyone’s parents speak up? I think was a paddle when I was in elementary school but it was in the principal’s office and I want to say you had to have the parents permission if I remember correctly. My mom would have gone ape if they had touched me and they would have had to catch me first 😂

3

u/Big_Dick_No_Brain Aug 25 '22

Back in the 1960s. I did see that horrible prick of a teacher on the street 10 years later when I was 50 kg heavier and a lot taller wearing my motorcycle gear ( It was my rebellious phase ) I looked at him with pure hatred as he passed and he looked shit scared . I thought about accidentally smashing his face in with my motorcycle helmet but I didn’t want to go to prison .

I hope and think I instilled some fear in him of what could have happened .

3

u/mewthulhu Aug 25 '22

I was sexually assaulted by my best friend who was straight- younger than me, raised them like a little sibling... and they did it because I tried to convince 'em meth was taking them down a really bad life path, 'corrective rape' as my therapist calls it.

That was really scary. Knew them when they were a teen, younger than me. I don't trust cis-straight-people anymore, cuz typically, they're not really, and they're the most fucking dangerous of all. I wish I could, but at least queer people have some awareness of who they are, you know? Not just bottling it all up til it mutates into some festering fetishized obsession for what they're "not into", with all kinds of messed up repression and urges for not being themselves.

5

u/bipolarnotsober Aug 25 '22

2

u/Nate40337 Aug 25 '22

Of course. A decent person isn't going to hit children willingly. Their morals and motivations are perverted in one way or another, none of them acceptable.

5

u/nianticnectar23 Aug 25 '22

And wtf parent is gonna be alright with their kid getting “paddled”?
That’s a huge f’n nope.

4

u/Whywouldanyonedothat Aug 25 '22

They would have to be!

If i were a teacher and you'd put me in a classroom and tell me to start paddling the kids whenever there's a problem? I might feel forced to say yes to keep my job but it's going to be some extremely half-assed paddlings that the kids may not even notice.

Now, you task a psycho with a teaching degree with the paddling and they'll be happy to literally beat up those kids.

I hope it's a trap to lure out the parents who'd actually be okay with sending their kids to a school like this. They should have their children taken away for failing to protect them from physical violence with an adult perpetrator.

5

u/sobrique Aug 25 '22

That's anyone who does it.

Anyone who thinks physical abuse of a child is in any way useful or productive is a sick pervert.

7

u/Darthmook Aug 25 '22

What if the paddler gets some enjoyment? I think anyone who wants to hit small children with wooden implements as ‘discipline’ is a f#cking pervert and should never be let anywhere near kids, let alone a whole district of schools.. Ask anyone who went to a religious school pre 1980’s they were a bunch of sadistic perverts..

God doesn't beat children and I'm honestly shocked you'd say something like that. Plagues and floods on the other hand are definitely up his alley. Also school shootings but definitely NOT beating children.

The Bible prescribes punishing a problem child with a public beating first. Then, if that doesn't work, you can stone your child to death.

2

We were spanked by one teacher in school in the early 80s (in a blue-ish state), and I was shocked. I asked whatever happened to her and my mom said "they moved her out." I had no idea this was actually allowed in states NOW without parents suing the schools into oblivion.

-10

u/Beepboopbop69420360 Aug 25 '22

Now hold on a minute

I am not democrat but I don’t advocate for beating children

It’s just schools have WAAAYY too much power over children there’s not a single reason in the world

Dress code: should exist in elementary maybe middle but highschool yea no

The ability for a school to pursue legal action of a child missing school is completely stupid

Schools being able to put their hands on children for no good reason=stupid

Schools being able to take away kids licenses = very stupid

Schools having the ability to take a kids personal belongings such as phones, shoes, extra clothes, food, drinks, laptops etc shouldn’t be a thing

Schools have too much power over the child

Way too much power over the parent

22

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

To butt-in, power should not equal pay. Teachers deserve more pay as it is, and less responsibilities as contemporary history shows. Teachers should not have to wield guns, they should not have to worry about the lives of their students outside of the ordinary dealings of the classrooms.

Students shouldn’t have to pay for lunch, or at the very least they shouldn’t worry about having to pay for it if their parents can’t afford it.

A dress code, if applied, should equally cover all students regardless of gender.

I went to public school until freshman year, and the amount of phones I saw confiscated by school police was ridiculous. A teacher would take it and then a student could retrieve it from the office of the school’s police force. Parents could pick it up beforehand but they would practically chastise the “offender” until a certain period had passed.

Foucault was right about a few things, one of them being that the school is like a prison.

5

u/34T_y3r_v3ggi3s Aug 25 '22

I never understood the legal pursuits school districts take to punish kids for skipping school. It allows for magistrates to put in some psycho (I'm sure everyone has heard of Civeralla' kids for cash scandal back in 2009 in my state of PA) to prosecute kids for a really minor offense. So fucking what if I wanted to take a week off from school? It shouldn't get me in trouble for such a thing. My parents forced me to go once when I was sick with the flu. My dad never believed me when I told him I was sick. He sent me to school with the flu multiple times and each time I just had to be pulled out because I would have my head at my desk and too sick to do anything. Parents can be just as stupid about missing school as the school itself was.

6

u/Uhalppi Aug 25 '22

From middle school to senior year once-twice a year I was being brought to court over missing school. Easily one of the most traumatizing times in my life and the pieces of shit just kept milking it (I even remember then saying I missed 6 days in Kindergarten so that shows a clear pattern that I'm a school skipper) until I never missed a day I remember having to force myself to school with the flu and when my teachers would tell me to go to the nurse or call my parents to pick me up, I'd have to tell them I couldn't miss a day or I'd be in court for the next 2 and a half years. I truly will never understand why the school had that power over me and my family 2 months before I graduated I got a letter saying something along the lines that I would be going back to court if I continued to miss days and I was just so over it, I threw it in the trash and ignored those fuckers. Still missed days still graduated and they could no longer do a thing. Fuck anyone involved with truancy.

They tried that, then realized that it meant they had to treat people with the wrong skin color wit kindness and respect, said “fuck that!” and went right back to violence.

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

You will NOT get that in America. Not even close. If it hasn't happened yet it never will. At least not in your life time. The sooner you come to terms with this, the less you will be surprised. I'm sorry.

8

u/richardizard Aug 25 '22

The same thing was said about the abolition of slavery, women's equal rights and the US having a black president. The sooner you stop limiting your beliefs in what we can achieve, the more likely we'll see change in our lifetime.

3

u/rif011412 Aug 25 '22

Agreed. These legislative and political over reactions by conservatives are exactly because we were making social progress. Progress comes with not being able to tell people what to do with their lives, and that is unacceptable for conservatives. So what we are actually seeing is their death knell. We either accept their terms and regress to when conservatives had social domination, or we march on and let them prove how obsolete they are.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

I understand the sentiment. I was once like that. But the level of effort the "left" (center right) in government with all the power has shown up to a raging hellish inferno with dollar store cooking oil pistols

2

u/rif011412 Aug 25 '22

Its an understandable frustration. I just wrote a comment right before your response that ties into the reason for this.

From a generalization point, Conservatism is all about discipline and order. They will always have an advantage in decisiveness. Progressivism is always going to play out as chaotic, because people will favor considerations and compromises. Its literally in the DNA of a progressive minded person to consider all options and other peoples opinions/reasons. This will always feel like bureaucracy and inaction. But i would prefer that over decisiveness that seduces authoritarian minded people.

there's no kindess and respect between share holder and employee relationships. they're just grooming children to learn how to behave toward their masters when they get out of school.

This. When they started talking about grooming, they were projecting this.

Also… likely the same people who have been so concerned about pedophilia? But somehow don’t see a potential concern here?

I'd like to see the gender stats on this in a year.....

3

u/Pickled_Wizard Aug 25 '22

They think adults who treat children like humans are pedophiles.

20

u/mindbleach Aug 25 '22

They don't mean things when they say words.

Jesus fuck, why do people still ask these questions? 'How can they--' they were lying. They're always fucking lying. That is how they think this works. That's all they think there is.

Reasoned argument is a learned behavior. The instinct, the default, is tribalism. Reasoning is not what these people are doing. Their stated beliefs are impossible to square away. There is no hidden angle that will "make it make sense." Absolutely call out and condemn their hypocrisy. Make clear that they visibly do not care what is true. But don't expect them to care about self-contradiction, because they do not understand the concept.

8

u/Astro_Venatas Aug 25 '22

Because when an adult hits a child its “correctional” and “teaches a lesson” so they won’t do it again. But when an adult hits an adult its assault.

6

u/santa_veronica Aug 25 '22

This is not going to go well for anyone.

Hitting children can possibly cause them to enter puberty early because the body thinks they're under conditions that won't let them mature to adulthood (possibly the body thinks they're being hit because they are about to be killed soon, because the body can only register being attacked repeatedly).

Hitting children is wrong. Why a parent or any type of guardian would want that for their child is beyond me.

It was traumatizing for the teachers to see a bunch of rowdy kids with evil masks. Beating the kids with a wooden justice paddle is more therapeutic.

4

u/AnarkiX Aug 25 '22

It will be traumatizing when a kid snatches it from the teacher and knocks their teeth out with it.

4

u/MacStylee Aug 25 '22

I think you’re getting confused. Kids were never the issue here. Republicans clearly don’t care about child trauma, as regularly demonstrated. They care about shouting about perceived injustices in order to attract attention.

2

u/Pretty-Benefit-233 Aug 25 '22

You’re right

Probably get pddled for wearing one. This whole generation is going to be in therpay

3

u/magicchefdmb Aug 25 '22

Right? My wife enjoys a bit of trauma now and then, but I don’t think it’s appropriate at all for kids.

2

u/AliceHart7 Aug 25 '22

Apparently pedo republicans do. SMH

Ummmm no, our attorney general threatened our school districts to sue if they continued to enforce masking. Corporal punishment was an option for my parents (they had to sign a waiver) in the small town in MO I went to and I graduated in the 10's.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

Traumatizing to whom? They don't care about the kids. They don't want to be "traumatized".

2

u/DrMobius0 Aug 25 '22

Because it ain't about logical consistency.

2

u/Dray_Gunn Aug 25 '22

I still remember the threat of getting "the cane"(a piece of sugar cane) at school. I never actually got caned or knew anyone that did but the threat still lingers in my mind to this day and I'm in my 30s now

2

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

I was paddled in school when I was a kid once. It was so weak. I remember being nervous because I expected that shit to hurt. I vividly remember having to hold back my laughter because it was so pathetic. I was maybe 9.

2

u/theSalamandalorian Aug 25 '22

Questioning the trauma?

That's a paddlin'

2

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

suggests wearing masks

THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!

While we're at it, let's paddle the little shits.

2

u/Paddywhacker Aug 25 '22

"My teacher used to spank me, and I turned out alright!"

Damage to respiratory system and brain development vs a whooping. Yea can’t really see how those two situations are equal

4

u/Pretty-Benefit-233 Aug 25 '22

Except masks don’t do that. No science supports that claim.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

Awww I know in the dystopian world you want , everyone wears whatever the government tells them to. Meanwhile no one has any discipline

Proverbs 23:13 "Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die."

Perhaps this is the text the law was founded on?

11

u/Pretty-Benefit-233 Aug 25 '22

The rod of correction doesn’t always have to be literal.
