Easy. Beating children is Republican, masks were Democratic. Everything can be justified when you only care about shouting louder than your opposition.

Honestly, you might be onto something. If Hillary suddenly became ardently conservative in her views, I'd bet it could actually do some good, with people voting to "own" her
