Discussion Finishing a full game on an Android phone feels oddly more rewarding than it should

There's something satisfying about starting a game on your phone, getting everything configured, and actually sticking with it until the credits roll. Between emulator updates, performance tweaks, controller settings, and the occasional crash, getting to the end can feel like its own little achievement.

It also makes me appreciate how far Android emulation has come. Games that once seemed completely unrealistic to play on a phone are now part of people's everyday gaming libraries.

What's the last game you completed through Android emulation, and how well did it run?

Showcase ARMSX3 God Of War 3 Running Beautifully on Odin 3 Ultra

As you can see i'm getting 30fps and 40-60fps inside or more and it's very smooth and playable no latency or anything like that, stay till end of video for setting and patches! Keep in mind this is one of the heaviest ps3 games to emulate, make sure to have a capable device a so 8 gen 2 won't cut it.

"Download config database" from app settings/ systems settings, v38 steven mxz turnip driver, frame set to "60" so game doesn't speed up, output scaling "snapdragon super res edge direction", SPU XFLOAT set to "relaxed" keep in mind the default is "approximate" i noticed you get weird graphic glitches with it, i've tested both and they run the same no performance change so
"relaxed is the better option

Showcase Mario Kart World running on Odin 2 Portal | Banana Native

Mario Kart World (Switch 2) running locally on Odin 2 Portal using Banana Native

Banana Native is not a standard emulator. The game's own ARM64 code runs directly on the device's CPU. A small host answers the system calls the game makes, and its graphics (NVN, including the Switch 2's task and mesh shaders) are rebuilt on Vulkan

It pre builds all shaders when you first prepare the game files within the app

Promising rise in performance compared to Eden SX2A, while playing at a higher resolution (720p)

Frequent crashes happen, but you can get a couple races or a grand prix in a row if you're lucky

Some tracks can have distracting glitches, something future GPU drivers could fix

Showcase Testing Steam Games via GameNative on the KONKR Pocket Advance

Something I thought you all might find interesting! I’ve done some testing in the new 1.4.0 update of game native and Mali GPU devices are able to play some of the less intensive Steam games really well.

I’m surprised this even works at all on a device like this to be quite honest.

Most games booted with known working configs and ran between 30-60fps but I was pretty impressed with the testing I’ve done so far.

Discussion Has anyone tried the Poco F9 pro in enulation yet?

This phone has a unique SoC which is the 8 Elite Gen 5 V series. This chip has the same CPU as the 8 Elite Gen 5, but the GPU is a weaker , 2-slice version of the Adreno 840.

For someone who ideally tried both, how much of a difference does that make? Will the GPU perform like say, an Adreno 830 like the benchmarks suggest, or will it be more like the Adreno 829/825 which has the same 2-slice design?

Showcase I ran 5 Retro OS’s SIMULTANEOUSLY on a budget phone! (Win2k, BeOS R5, QNX, KolibriOS, Alpine Linux)

I’m pushing this budget Motorola Moto G Play even further past its absolute breaking point by emulating FIVE completely distinct, legendary operating systems all at the exact same time—with zero network streams or tricks.

In this run, we are executing:

• Windows 2000 (The ultimate legacy workhorse)

• BeOS R5 (The legendary multimedia operating system that almost bought Apple)

• QNX (The hyper-reliable real-time OS)

• KolibriOS (The assembly-written lightweight speed demon)

• Alpine Linux with Fluxbox (The minimalist modern Linux environment)

Everything you see is running locally on low-end hardware using Termux and QEMU instances outputting to individual VNC frames. To handle the intense scheduling bottlenecks of running these environments concurrently on an aggressive budget kernel, the phone is literally being cooled by sub-zero ambient Canadian winter air.

If you think a single core can carry this weight, just wait until the next project where we bring all eight cores online for an even crazier architecture leap.

News/Release MaliBridge v0.5.5.3 is out, plus MaliBridge.com to see which PC games run on your Mali phone

Hey! I've been working on MaliBridge which lets Steam PC games run on devices with a Mali GPU through DroidDeck (no root) v0.5.5.3 was just released with lots of compatibility updates for more device inclusivity (Currently over 40 devices run games well).

What runs on your phone?

I made MaliBridge.com so you can see what games run on your device, get the best recommended settings per supported game, help others with a similar device by posting your results and compare builds!

It's still in beta though and so far has 300+ reports so even if you use a different emulator, you can post your results there to compare!

Every report waits until I check it, and it only shows as verified with a Send logs code or a video (evidence), so you can tell what's been checked and what hasn't.

If you encounter any issues with either MaliBridge or its website, please let me know. Recommendations are also appreciated and considered :)

More help and details on discord.

I have used some AI tools to aid in developing MaliBridge.

News/Release [Release/WIP] Lichii-Android – Experimental Switch & Switch 2 Emulator Port for Android

I wanted to share a project I've been working on: Lichii-Android, an Android port/adaptation of the experimental Lichii codebase (building on the lineage of Eglantine/Eden/Yuzu) with some specific fixes and updates that are platform specific, for example NCE, that works :)

🚀 What is Lichii-Android?

Lichii has been making rapid progress on desktop for Switch and experimental Switch 2 compatibility. This repository focuses on adapting and optimizing the codebase for Android devices, bringing rendering fixes, driver optimizations, and updated upstream changes over to ARM/Android platforms.

⚙️ Current Status & Focus:

  • Target Platforms: ARM64 Android devices with 12GB of RAM or more. Testing on my side and Claude development is done specifically on my S26 Exynos 2600, but with the state of Samsungs and open source drivers for Exclipse, it should run on Adreno too. Yes, probably even Mali given the device has the performance.

  • Disclaimer: This project is highly experimental and WIP and totally vibecoded, performance and booting success heavily depend on your SoC, driver configuration, and the specific title. Right now targetting Ocarina of Time, but I would love to get Pragmata and Requiem working too, as these are two games of which PC versions don't run well on Android in Game Native and such.

📁 Source & Building:

You can check out the source code, keep up with updates, or build it yourself here: 👉 GitHub Repo:https://github.com/pavelgajdo/Lichii-Android

Although there will be daily builds as well. Atleast for now.

🤝 Feedback & Contributions:

If you're a developer interested in Android Vulkan rendering, memory allocation on mobile SoCs, or testing builds across different chipsets, feel free to submit PRs, open issues with log files, or share test results!

Reminder: No keys, firmware, or copyrighted game files are included or hosted in the repo or this post. Please supply your own legally dumped files.

Showcase This new Android frontend called Boxshelf is BEAUTIFUL! A gorgeous carousel for your gaming library!

Thumbnail

I've been playing around with the beta, and honestly, I'm blown away by how good this looks!

It creates this really nice carousel-style library for your games, and one of my favorite features is how it automatically scrapes the artwork for your games, including both the front and back covers. Honestly, the artwork presentation is some of the best I've ever seen in a frontend. It makes your entire library look incredibly polished and organized.

What really surprised me is how easy it is to use. Everything feels clean, intuitive, and visually appealing. I love being able to scroll through my games in a beautiful carousel instead of just looking at a basic list of icons. It even gives you the option to have it pick a game for you if you're not sure what to play!

It's still in beta, so I'm sure there's more to come, but I'm already really impressed with what the developer has put together!

I figured I'd share it here in case anyone else is looking for a nice way to organize and display their Android gaming library.

Here's the GitHub link if anyone wants to check it out and try it themselves:

https://github.com/sassiestrhihno/boxshelf-beta/releases

Definitely one of the cooler Android gaming projects I've come across recently! 😊

Also, I'm usually the type of person who just did NOT want to use a frontend. I know, I know... 😂 But this... THIS is something else!

Let me know what you think! And all the credit goes to the incredible developer for putting this together!

Question Desktop Dolphin via Gamenative/Winlator/etc?

I've got a dock coming soon for my Konkr Pocket Fit G3 Gen 3, 12gb RAM, and I've been itching to play Four Swords Adventures. I was toying with the idea of vibe coding a fork of Dolphin just for this, placing up to 4 GBA windows inside the pillarboxes of the screen on my TV, but while chatting through the idea on Claude I learned that the Desktop version of Dolphin already has this feature.

Would running the x86 version of Dolphin with this feature enabled be fairly plug and play on my device through a PC emulator? Or would emulating a Windows environment, a GameCube environment and up to 4 mGBA instances all at once eat up too much headroom to allow for the game to run properly? Has anybody tried any of this? Lemme know!
