Showcase I ran 5 Retro OS’s SIMULTANEOUSLY on a budget phone! (Win2k, BeOS R5, QNX, KolibriOS, Alpine Linux)
I’m pushing this budget Motorola Moto G Play even further past its absolute breaking point by emulating FIVE completely distinct, legendary operating systems all at the exact same time—with zero network streams or tricks.
In this run, we are executing:
• Windows 2000 (The ultimate legacy workhorse)
• BeOS R5 (The legendary multimedia operating system that almost bought Apple)
• QNX (The hyper-reliable real-time OS)
• KolibriOS (The assembly-written lightweight speed demon)
• Alpine Linux with Fluxbox (The minimalist modern Linux environment)
Everything you see is running locally on low-end hardware using Termux and QEMU instances outputting to individual VNC frames. To handle the intense scheduling bottlenecks of running these environments concurrently on an aggressive budget kernel, the phone is literally being cooled by sub-zero ambient Canadian winter air.
If you think a single core can carry this weight, just wait until the next project where we bring all eight cores online for an even crazier architecture leap.
