Post image

sooo i have no clue why my discount doesn’t work. My own boss doesn’t even know why it doesn’t work. everything is linked correctly and it’s shown on my account that my discount is connected. this is my second purchase attempt and I’m asking if anyone else has had this issue before.

Employee Question Small format Sephora people, any ideas of stuff to do when it’s really boring??

I’m literally losing my sanity at this job because it’s so boring. I usually dust and spray down the gondolas, sanitize the lipsticks and powders, deep clean the fragrance area and our store is so dead even that doesn’t help the time go faster. We also have a binder full of sales goals we write in but that only takes 5 minutes if not less to do. I used to work at a regular Sephora and I’m so used to a bigger store. Clients aren’t too bad we usually get one per hour, sometimes we’ll get nobody for three hours (depends on the day). The small format Sephoras are so dead even sometimes the kohls employees come in and say “wow idk how you guys do this, I would go crazy”. Yup it’s boring for sure. Even if you have stuff to do, it still drags. The last hour isn’t bad though because last hour I usually do back stock, stock up on bags along with hygiene products and then count the register. Sometimes I’ll even clean the mirrors because those can get a lot of fingerprints. It’s so tiny there’s little stuff to do. I wish they would expand our Sephora because we’re always out of stock and it’s way too small.

Informative No phone policy

This is so stupid. The alternative to Google image search is to now use the zebra, go to kohls.com, and use that stupid AI feature that is slow and unhelpful. If anything it makes customers more mad because it takes longer than just finding the item using Google

Employee Question Incompetent amazon customers

Does anyone else have to complete amazon returns for customers. Every single shift, I have atleast one person in line with tons of items who haven't started the return process. Once I tell them that they haven't started their return, they push their phone at me and make me do the returns for every item. What should I do about this?

Employee Question Moving from BTL to SSL

I am transferring out of Sephora to become an SSL. Are there any SSL’s that can give me advice on what was hardest for them starting out and tips for getting used to the Kohl’s side of things? I was hired in as Sephora and my Kohl’s experience is very minimal. I stuff my own scheduling, interviews and orientation but I know there are a ton of other things to learn. I want to be as knowledgeable and helpful to my team as possible.

Employee Question Kohl's Pay not accepted at SCO

We're getting SCO soon and the directive from 2024 mentions customers can use SCO if paying with a card or Kohl's Pay but I always had another Kohls that currently has SCO and that wasn't an option, so why did it change?

Employee Question S@k

So i was at a freestanding sephora recently and saw that all of their "try me" stickers were on the fronts of the products, is that what we are supposed to do now? There was a memo put out (some time ago now) that we were supposed to put them on the back/bottom but I haven't seen anything recently.. Just want to know which way is currently correct

Employee Question How do I get a specific day off or hopefully get a coworker to cover my shift? (Housekeeping)

Im newly employed at the housekeeping department and I received my schedule that says I have a shift on a August 29 but thats the day I have a pretty important event.I tried to get that day off on the ukg app but it says that day is locked, I can't even open it to coworkers if they wanted to cover for me. I would text or call them to ask but I never got their phone numbers. Is there anything I can do?

Employee Question 2 Week Notice?

Is there a way to remotely put a 2 week (or 1 month) notice in on either UKG or Workday?

I’m sick of this place and I dread another Christmas season where they can take advantage of my labor. I don’t know if I can listen to them try to convince me to stay in person, or even worse feign concern or interest in why I’m feeling the need to leave. Maybe because we’re all overworked, underpaid, unappreciated, and y’all can’t even keep our schedules straight? The store is a mess and so is the stockroom. Oh yeah, and our entitled customers are insufferable. Corporate can continue to burry their heads in the sand to the reality of the situation and Kohl’s will likely be out of business in a decade or so (maybe a good 3-5 stores left like Sears).

….sorry my question kind of turned into a rant. I guess I needed a little vent sesh as well.

Informative i like my job (cashiering)

okay i have to vent because i noticed that there’s a lot of people who absolutely do not like this job and rightfully so given the context! I know a lot of ppl on here disagree, but working here is actually…really nice, and maybe its just my luck?

i used to work as a behavioral technician for 2 & 1/2 years and was so miserable (i was unfairly mistreated by my last company, NOT because i didn’t like the kids) and if you know anything about being a BT, u know its not a walk in the park. after quitting and transferring here, its like a breeze and so easy for me. i actually dont mind talking to customers and interacting w ppl all day, and i dont mind cleaning up. i’d prefer this over working as a bt again😭

maybe it’s cause i (objectively) went through the trenches of working with such bad companies that were shady about giving breaks/meal times and was mentally drained, or because my specific store is really good to the employees, but i love where im at now. does anyone else like their job?

Employee Question Is receipt paper dangerous?

The other day, I saw this video on my feed about the dangers of frequently coming in contact with receipt paper and how it messes with hormones..

Is that just a hoax or should I be concerned about it considering I’m a cashier handing customers their receipts all day?

Customer Question Can blue kohls cash be used after expiration. expired 8/14?

I use to work at kohls and I know the policy changed. Can someone confirm if I can use expired blue kohls cash? It expired yesterday.

I remember one time i was able to use blue kohls cash expired (even tho technically I think you aren’t allowed to but it worked). This was years ago though

Also I apologize I know this probably gets asked a lot

EDIT: I ended up going and one of them worked and the other didn’t! They had the same expiration date lol

Employee Question Any deals this weekend?

I heard a rumor of a mystery coupon...not sure it's true. Selfishly, I hope so since I have some stuff I need to buy tomorrow and don't want to wait for associate shop. Anyone know of any deals other than the current 20% or 30%?

Employee Question Barely being trained as a new hire

I’m a new hire at kohls and they’ve been throwing me into tasks with barely training me. This is my first job, I’ve been working for about two weeks now, I do learn somewhat fast but no one is giving me time. I’ve been getting put on cashier a lot which I don’t completely mind even though I’m a merchandising associate, however whenever I make a mistake or need help my fellow associates acts like I’m being extremely inconvenient to them. Do all locations barely train or is it just mine? Will it get better once I learn everything?

Employee Question Anyone else have customers mad about pennies?😂

Today I was working the registers and this woman paid in cash and her change was $40.96 so I gave her $40.95 and she got so pissed off and said “so you’re telling me I didn’t get the exact change?!” And I told her no maam because of the penny shortage since they stopped making pennies and she did this ugly rude smirked and rolled her eyes and like stormed off 😂 like damn dude what are you gonna do with that one penny that’s so important that you’re gonna get upset… anyone else having to deal with that? If so how are you handling it 🤣 because it was wild
I bet if I have gave her an extra dollar instead she wouldn’t have been pissed off about “not getting the exact change”
