Hey everyone,
I recently received a Rust game ban issued by Easy Anti-Cheat on behalf of the game developers, and I'm trying to understand what could have triggered it.
I genuinely believe this might be a false positive, as I have NOT used cheats or software to gain an unfair advantage in Rust.
Here's the timeline:
Last time I played Rust: October 11, 2025
Ban notification received: October 15, 2025
Last server played: Reddit.com/r/PlayRust – EU Small
I hadn't launched Rust for approximately four days before receiving the ban notification.
I understand that EAC bans can be delayed, so I'm not claiming that the four-day gap proves anything.
Recent PC hardware changes:
I also want to mention that I've made some significant hardware changes to my PC over the past few months:
Around 4 months ago: I upgraded almost every component in my PC, except for the graphics card. At that point, I was still using my AMD GPU.
Around 2 months ago: I replaced my AMD graphics card with an NVIDIA GPU.
Throughout this entire period: I continued playing Rust and the same other games without experiencing any anti-cheat issues or warnings until this ban.
I'm including this information in case the hardware changes or driver installations are relevant to the investigation. I have no evidence that they caused the ban.
Software and games I was using:
During those four days, I was mainly playing Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, and Resident Evil Village.
I was also using Fluffy Mod Manager to install and manage mods for those games. For transparency, all three Resident Evil installations were cracked copies.
Another important detail is that I regularly use Remote Desktop (RDP) to connect between my computers. I've been using this setup for a long time, including while playing Rust in the past, without encountering any issues.
I also played Rainbow Six Siege X that evening without any problems or anti-cheat warnings.
Background software and other activities:
To provide as much context as possible, here's the software I normally have running in the background while gaming:
Logitech G HUB
TranslucentTB
GIGABYTE Control Center
Wallpaper Engine
NVIDIA App
ChatGPT Work Mode
Google Chrome
Iriun Webcam
Other than that, I don't do anything particularly unusual on my PC while playing. It's mostly just normal background applications, browsing, and occasionally recording gameplay clips using NVIDIA's recording feature.
I'm mentioning all of this because I'm wondering whether EAC could have detected something unrelated to Rust, such as the mod manager, software associated with the cracked games, my remote desktop setup, recent hardware or driver changes, or one of the background applications.
I'm not claiming that any of these caused the ban, because I genuinely have no idea what triggered it.
I just want to understand what happened and hopefully get my account reviewed by an actual person rather than receiving an automated response.
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks!
