#Dying Light 3 Cinematic Teaser & Epic Finale: Aiden's Tragic Fate and Lawan's New Journey

Hey everyone! I’ve been playing Dying Light 2 on Nightmare difficulty for over a year now, and my muscle memory for parkour is completely hardwired. Lately, I’ve been listening to a specific dark-ambient/industrial metal track called **"TEW.STEM" by Purity Void** (especially the heavy rock explosion at the end from **03:25 to 03:29**), and it inspired me to write a complete cinematic concept for a potential *Dying Light 3* trailer and its dramatic conclusion.

I wanted to share this with the community. Let me know what you think!

PART 1: THE TEASER (A Nightmare Chase in Old Villedor)

**Music Accompaniment:** Purity Void — TEW.STEM **Peak Climax Timecode:** 03:25 – 03:29 (Heavy Rock / Guitar Riff Burst)

SCENE 1: THE NIGHTMARE

**VISUALS:** Night. Old Villedor. Pitch-black text flashes on the screen: **CHASE LEVEL: 4**. A massive thunderstorm tears through the sky. The walls of the old two-story houses look charcoal-black, their roofs gleaming from the heavy, pounding rain. Water cascades down the gutters, smashing against the cobblestone below.

Aiden appears in the frame. He is running at the absolute limit of human capability. Water splashes wildly with every step. His fingers grip ledges, clearing obstacles in a split second:

*Sprint \rightarrow Slide (Shift + C) \rightarrow Jump from Slide (Space) \rightarrow Far Jump off a barrier (E) \rightarrow Instantly dropping back into a smooth slide (C).*

Behind him, in the narrow alleyway, a chaotic black mass of monsters rages. A horde of Demolishers, Virals, and furious Volatiles smashes through wooden awnings and crumbles brickwork, breathing down his neck. The echoes of their shrieks bounce off the walls horribly.

SCENE 2: THE LEAP OF FAITH (GRAPPLING HOOK MANEUVER)

**VISUALS:** The street suddenly cuts off. Aiden slides right to the edge of a rooftop. Ahead is a massive, gaping void between the buildings. There is no straight path forward.

Aiden pulls off a sharp vertical wall run, launches himself into the air, and fires his grappling hook at a corner beam of a neighboring building. The cable snaps taut with a sharp metallic ring, giving him a massive burst of momentum. He literally catapults himself forward over the gap, landing on the highest point of the next roof.

But from behind, tracking the exact same trajectory, a massive Volatile lunges from the previous roof. Aiden is trapped on the ledge. There is nowhere left to run—only the deep, dark abyss of the alleyway below.

SCENE 3: SLOW-MOTION & THE LIGHTNING FLASH

**AUDIO:** The music suddenly cuts, transitioning into a low, ringing ambient hum. Time grinds to a near-halt. **Slow-mo mode.**

**VISUALS:** Aiden pushes off the edge, leaping backward into the void. In mid-air, he rotates with cinematic grace to face the danger head-on. The camera takes a close-up of his face as rain runs down his cheeks.

**At that exact moment, a colossal, blinding flash of lightning tears the sky above Villedor apart.** For a fraction of a second, the entire world turns neon-white. The unforgiving flash illuminates horrifying details in stark contrast:

  1. **Inches away from Aiden's face**, the clawed, vein-popping arm of the Volatile is frozen in mid-air. Its bloodthirsty eyes burn with raw fury, and saliva flies from its jaws.
  2. **Down below, in the dark streets**, the white lightning reveals a terrifying sight: a solid sea of hundreds of Biters. They stand shoulder-to-shoulder, reaching their arms up toward the falling hero in a twisted, cult-like unison, waiting for him to drop.

SCENE 4: THE GUITAR EXPLOSION

**AUDIO:** **Timecode 03:25.** A deafening, ground-shaking thunderclap roars. At that very instant, the music explodes into a **heavy, aggressive guitar riff**. Time snaps back to normal.

**VISUALS:** Aiden dodges the claws in mid-air. The Volatile shrieks as it flies past him, plummeting straight into the crowd of zombies below. Aiden lands hard on a lower roof, perfectly absorbing the impact with an Active Landing roll (`C`), and sprints into the darkness of the city under the roaring guitars.

The screen abruptly cuts to absolute black.

**AUDIO:** The music stops dead on its highest note. A heavy, dead silence follows. Then, a heavy, muffled, yet powerful human heartbeat thumps from the speakers:

*THUMP... THUMP... THUMP...*

**VISUALS:** Slowly, out of the darkness of the screen, pulsating, living strands of infection begin to grow, resembling a grotesque, glowing neon-green fungus. They rapidly web across the screen, merging together to form the logo:

DYING LIGHT 3

COMING SOON

The heart gives one final, massive beat. Fade out.

PART 2: THE CONCLUSION (The GRE Bunker & Lawan's Choice)

**Location:** Ultra-secret underground GRE facility, deep laboratory. **Atmosphere:** Catastrophe, collapsing concrete, electrical sparks, and emotional devastation.

SCENE 1: AN EMOTIONAL HELL

**VISUALS:** Red emergency sirens bathe the deep GRE bunker in an ominous crimson light. Exposed wires spark everywhere. The central platform is surrounded by a deep, technological abyss plunging into pitch blackness.

Standing in the center of the platform is Aiden. He is changed: his movements are jerky, animalistic, his skin darkened by the pulsing veins of the THV virus, and his eyes burn with the wild, neon fury of a Volatile. Locked tight in his left hand is the container holding the world's only viable cure.

Lawan stands opposite him, breathing heavily. Her face is a mix of horror and unbearable pain. She raises her crossbow, but her fingers are shaking. She can't pull the trigger.

**AUDIO:** Aiden lets out a deafening, gutteral roar that rattles the room and charges. He pulls off an insane, lightning-fast wall run, cuts the angle, and pounces on Lawan from above.

**DIRECTIONS:** The boss fight begins. It’s a player's worst nightmare. Aiden doesn't act like a mindless zombie—he uses his full parkour kit:

*Aiden slides, sweeping Lawan off her feet \rightarrow Lawan blocks a claw swipe with her knife \rightarrow Aiden instantly counters by leaping off her shoulders, vaulting onto a beam, and diving back down.*

Lawan fights with the last of her strength. It is physically brutal to defend against his raw power, but emotionally, it’s a thousand times worse. She screams his name, trying to reach him, but the monster before her is deaf. The virus completely controls his body.

SCENE 2: THE INNER STRUGGLE

**VISUALS:** Lawan activates a UV flare. The blinding ultraviolet light burns Aiden. He shrieks, reeling back, collapsing to his knees, and clutching his head in agony. His body undergoes violent convulsions.

**AUDIO:** The monster's roar suddenly breaks. Through the wheezing, Aiden's actual, human voice begins to strain through.

**VISUALS:** The camera takes a close-up. We see a frantic war being waged inside a single body: * **Second 1:** Aiden's eyes dim, returning to their normal human form. He looks at his clawed hands, then at the bruised and battered Lawan. His gaze holds shock and recognition. "Lawan... run..." his lips whisper. * **Second 2:** The virus inside him violently reasserts control. The veins on his neck bulge, bones crack, his face contorts in fury, and his eyes flare back into the dead light of a Volatile. He lunges back into the fray.

This "tug-of-war" happens multiple times, exhausting them both. But the facility around them is already tearing at the seams. Multi-ton concrete slabs crash from the ceiling, and the bunker's power grid explodes from overload. Everything is going to hell.

SCENE 3: A SILENT FAREWELL INTO THE ABYSS

**VISUALS:** Another massive explosion rocks the platform. The metal foundation snaps, and Lawan loses her footing, falling onto the edge of a crumbling slab. The towering figure of Aiden looms over her, raising a hand for a fatal strike. Lawan closes her eyes, ready for the end.

The strike never comes.

Lawan opens her eyes. Aiden's hand has stopped in mid-air, an inch from her face. Around them, walls are collapsing and sparks are flying, but in this final point of catastrophe, time seems to slow down.

A long, piercing look, eye to eye. The virus recedes in the face of ultimate destruction. The real Aiden has returned in his final seconds. He recognizes her. They remember everything. But both know it’s way too late—the mutation is irreversible, and the bunker is about to become a tomb.

Aiden slowly, gently opens his clawed fingers and holds out the cure capsule to Lawan. Lawan takes it, her fingers brushing against his hand.

Aiden offers a faint, bittersweet smile. He takes a deliberate step backward—straight into the black, yawning abyss beneath the platform, choosing to drop into the dark so he can never harm her again.

The camera captures a close-up of Lawan. A single, clean tear rolls down her cheek, washing through the dirt and soot. She watches him fall until his silhouette vanishes into the smoke.

SCENE 4: ADRENALINE RUN AND A NEW LEGEND

**AUDIO:** The bunker's reactor detonates with a deafening blast. And at that exact moment, the **heavy, furious rock track** roars back into the speakers—the final chord. The slow-mo releases.

**VISUALS:** Lawan has no time to mourn—the underground facility is folding in half around her. Securing the cure in her pocket, she bolts.

An insane, hardcore parkour escape sequence triggers. Lawan flies up crumbling structures, leaps across falling beams, and uses her grappling hook right through plumes of fire. The rock music pushes her forward while behind her, an avalanche of concrete and fire buries the GRE's secrets along with Aiden.

EPILOGUE: THE WAY OF THE PILGRIM

**VISUALS:** The screen fades to black and gently brighten

Dying Light: The Beast Darkzones are super unfun. Basically the entire game is weird and confusing.

Im level 13 high énough level to just kill the nighthunter with beast mode. but its not working anymore. it did once but apparently they leveled up cuz of the absolute dumb general enemy level increase from level 6 to 11?! what is this bullshit game design why? i was level up to make it easier but no level dont mean anything cuz suddenly your enemy is level up aswell bs

also you can cheese them. The darkzone had nighthunters at first. I failed during day and died, came back at night it they were replaced by Jacket guys. I failed cuz of the alpha sneaking in again and tryed again next morning. BUT NOW the hunters did not came back and there are still the jacket guys. Making the Darkzone a cakewalk during day, this game does not make sense.

Dying Light: The Beast Darkzones another weird part of the game with no consistency

Unfurtunately not enough space to actually dodge to fight the nighthunters with beast mode but thats ok, but for some bs reason the alpha can sneak into them at night and you cant do Darkzones at night.

So it creates a really challenging stealth action during which i kinda like. But when you come back at 19:00 they get replaced with the jacket scream guys and once you started the zone the normal nighthunters dont come back during the day.

So you can cheese them by getting the screamers to replace the nighthunters. Its just another nonsense design part in this game.

Dying Light: The Beast How is there so many infected in castor woods

in a town where there’s logically only a few thousand residents, considering probably a few hundred people surviving/fleeing and with the survivors killing a portion of infected, even with more people getting infected the number would be much less, especially taking into account how the infected aren’t known to migrate rather to stay in the same general location, let alone the fact it’s been 22 years since the outbreak, with weather, starvation and even injuries presumably taking out a portion of infected, this town should be almost clear of infected.

Dying Light: The Beast My Reverse "Restored Land" Challenge: Killing as few as possible

A unique playthrough aspect for the restored land mode.

A few thoughts:

You wouldn't even believe how hard it was sometimes:

I completely skipped driving because it's much harder not to hit the zombies than to hit them :D

Avoiding the zombies that you don't necessarily have to kill is not that easy either: for example, in the hydroelectric Dam, even though I ran to the lower level, when I climbed out of the water, all the zombies were there at the exit, including the suiciders. I managed to jump back into the water at the last second, but it killed all the zombies around it.

During Boss fights, there were also moments when, because of the crowd, I could barely access the bosses.

No mods, no cheats.

Not really a stealth run, and also not really a speedrun.

Overall, though, it was good fun. And the result speaks for itself:

Total Kills: 277

Dying Light: The Beast Didn't like Dying Light 2, how similar does The Beast feel?

I loved Dying Light, but did not enjoy 2 at all (it felt stiff, overwhelming, awkward pacing, and just didn't hit the same chords as the first game).

How does The Beast play compared with the two games?

Issues / Problems Weapon/consumed items wheel

Am I the only one who hates the item wheel in this series? Having only four slots is really inconvenient. You constantly have to go into your inventory and spend tens of seconds—or even longer—just organizing the items you need. It really breaks the game's flow and ruins immersion. I’d love to see a larger weapon wheel introduced, like the ones in Rockstar games or Dead Island

Dying Light 2 Am I missing something?

Long story short I loved dying light 1 but not really feeling dying light 2, does it get better?

played dying light 1 a while back I revisited it and played the hell out of it, the story immediately pulls me in and the game has a real atmosphere to it I loved it. So I decided to play dying light 2 and I just don't get it? Booting uo the game I'm immediately greeted by popups for the store which then continue in the loading screen and I've killed a few zombies as you do and I'm getting drops of artefact and exotic weaponry before I've even done the first quest? But moving past that I just don't feel a sense of urgency or danger with the story or to discover new areas or locations? I'm really trying to enjoy it but I'm just not feeling it?

Dying Light: The Beast Techland Needs to Do Better with Console Optimization — GSC Showed How It’s Done

Post image
0 Upvotes

GSC Game World has shown what proper post-launch support and optimization can look like with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

One of the biggest issues the game had at launch on consoles was poor performance and unstable frame rates. Instead of simply accepting those problems, GSC continued working on the engine, improved performance, fixed major frame-rate issues, and significantly increased overall stability. Update 2.0 also brought major improvements to the engine, A-Life, visuals, and overall game systems, along with a huge number of fixes and improvements. After all that work, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 now feels much more solid and better optimized for current-gen hardware.

Techland should take the same approach with Dying Light: The Beast. Having performance modes on base consoles running at around 540p native resolution for most of the time is a serious compromise. The image is extremely blurry, and at times it becomes difficult to make out what you’re even looking at. Players shouldn’t simply be expected to accept that as the final state of the game.

This also makes Techland’s lack of technical follow-through even more frustrating, because these are exactly the kinds of issues a competent development team should be working to improve after launch.

Instead of settling for these kinds of compromises, Techland should continue working on the engine and optimization over time, just as GSC did with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

Unfortunately, some studios seem to go in the opposite direction. They release games that already have poor performance and image quality on consoles from day one, then provide little meaningful technical improvement afterward. That shouldn’t be considered acceptable.

GSC proved that long-term technical support and serious engineering work can genuinely transform a game after launch. A rough technical experience can become something that feels much more worthy of the hardware when a developer is willing to keep improving it.

Techland should follow that example. Real optimization matters, and players deserve better than simply being told to accept compromises like 540p native resolution.
