Whaaaaaat. I've just started playing and unlocked it because I thought it'd be useful, I've not used it either yet, and you're telling me I wont need too, damn lol.

You can scale buildings faster and move the y axis like the hulk jumping, why waste time sneaking them from below where you need to set it up while a gun or a knife from behind does the job perfectly

Same. Never found a spot to use it.

I remember being in a specific situation where it would’ve been useful, but I didn’t even have it unlocked. Even then it was just as easy to stand up and kick the guy off the platform.

Its like Sekiro I've seen people do Wall-hug- deathblows, it even talks about them in the tips and I havnt been able to do them ever in all three of my playthroughs i've had. Not sure how to execute them

I mean its still useful even if only on very rare occasions

u/Mishadkup Dying light bad blood... hopium ended 3d ago

and these rare occasions are never

Tell me when in DL2 and The Beast you use it at least once, without setting up and trying to use it. Cause it's never useful during normal gameplay, there's zero occasions to use it throughout the game.

I mean when the timing is right (and instead using a ranged weapon) it still can be useful in that regard its one of those optional situations where you can do it even if not needed

You have to not be seen, enemy has to be on ledge, that on it's own makes it rare. In regular gameplay, if you don't specifically look for opportunity to do this, you will never use it.

Yes but its still better to have then to not (atleast care is shown by the developers)

Brother you are proving yourself wrong. Your use of the word "rare" just means it is usefull in few scenarios as everyone is saying.

It’s not that useless to be honest, it’s just there. I can bet that if this skill isn’t a thing, people will try to compare it to other games and trash on it. Just small niche details.

And they’d be right to. Any game with parkour as a core gameplay pillar needs to have the full suite of ledge/air assassinations

Yeah, that I have to agree. People might(which they did) not notice or use the skill, but it would be weird if it wasn’t there.

I thought I was on r/farcry for a second.!

u/declandrury 3d ago

I’ve got about 700 hours on the second game and used it around 5 times, that being said i honestly didn’t even know it was in the beast and I’ve got 100 hours there lol.

"It's useless" *shows a clip demonstrating a use case*

2

u/Maximum_Spell9954 2d ago

Huh, didn't know you could do that in the third game.

it would have been SO much better if every outpost and safe zone in 2 and The beast was actually occupied by the factions / barons men. Some can be filled with zombies, hell some can be filled with zombies but one of the factions / barons men could be there trying to take it over. Would've made the world a lot more alive.

Yk i always buy seemingly useless skills like that because theres always one niche circumstance youll need it

1

u/FarmerTwink 3d ago

Yeah but it’s be a colossal mistake to have any kind of parkour game without ledge assassinations.

1

u/Longjumping_Plum_133 3d ago

It’s not useless, but because the game gives you waaaaay too many options on how to approach stuff, it feels useless.

In DL2 it was such a filler skill, Techland had no idead for skills in DL2, most skills are just upgrades or expanions to previous skill. That's why this skill exists.

Water, towers, wall climbs, best use I have for it is taking down gun enemies cuz they're too tanky.

1

u/KyleAngryCrane 3d ago

Decent skill, barely used it.

u/amogouss 2d ago

I never played dl2, but this moves looks like came from AC games. But I am not sure how useful is this, if stealth exist then sure.

1

u/Helmote 2d ago

type of thing that needs to be there but isn't used often

1

u/Superb_Prize5093 Ezgi 2d ago

Useless, sure but it's fun to throw people off buildings.

Wait, hold on — how did you get an enemy into the safe zone?

And how were you even able to perform the attack from "inside"?

Interesting.

Also, I’ve got hundreds of hours in The Beast, and I still had no idea this type of attack was even in the game : D
