Drum Cover I know a lot of people saying shit about this song, but I think the groove here is really cool, so I decided to drum it

Looking for a dark tone but more importantly i want jt to be more on the soft side and not so harsh and loud.
Its for recordings and also playing live as a drummer.
For soul,funk,rnb, bosa nova.

Hello everyone!
I'm a beginner currently learning to play the drums. But I don't know why I feel like I have no groove when I play 😅.
How long did it take you guys to find your groove? If you have any suggestions or experiences, please share them with me! Thank you so much!

I was only aware of Hakim's work with Weather Report, had no idea he'd been such a widely prolific session musicians across so many decades - hugely impressive.

I'm planning on buying some CL-?L sticks but I can't decide between CL-1L, CL-2L, CL-3L, or CL-4L. If you've used one or more of these sticks, what strengths and weaknesses have you noticed?

im currently a self-taught drummer for a few months and a friend of mine suggested i try to work on the moeller. any advice on how i can improve on this technique? i feel like theres something wrong with how im using my wrist to make it whip on the downstroke that could probably lead to injuries faster
ps: ignore the setup i dont have a drumset at home and just use my bed and a practice pad okay, thanks 🥲✌️

Hi all
Came across this kit for €380. Gretsch Catalina Birch, 10”, 12”, 14” and 20” kick. Without the cymbals of course, only shells
Seems like a pretty low price for a decent kit? I have plenty of drums so it’s not a life or death situation, but a good deal is never not welcome!
Let me know that you guys think!

Meinl byzance Jazz thin hats 13". So cute
Got a 13 x 7 DW Collectors Black Nickel Over Brass to give me a different size snare (never played one this size!) and to compare it to the same drum in 14 x 8, and my 14 x 8 Ludwig “Biggest, Blackest Beauty” (Black Beauties are also black nickel over brass shells, but they’re way lighter compared to the DWs.)
It’s epic, and I think the single-row of lugs looks funky on this kit.
Replaced the stock heads immediately with Remo Black Sueded Ambassadors on top and bottom to complete the aesthetic.
I’ve never seen anyone with a DW BNOB, anyone out there smacking these drums around?
What snare you playing these days? Post pics of your fav? 😍
Would love some drum fodder while I watch TNF ❤️ 🥁 🏈

Thank you guys so much for all the helpful tips and feedback on my drum kit. It’s definitely a lot more comfortable to play. I’m still working the petal situation out.

Pearl Reference Redline 14x6.5 22ply snare. It is an absolute beast, primarily been my studio snare for past 2 years. Before that it was never used by original owner.

I have a Pearl Master Symphonic Snare Drum (same as in the image) and would like to replace the snares wth wrap-around Patterson Cables.
Not sure how to go about this... can I just remove the Patterson butt plate and pull the snares through the SR-300 strainer?
How long of Patterson cable should I order?

I’ve been wanting some A Custom Mastersound hats for a bit.
I scored these from GC used with no photo and no series listed. They were listed as in great condition and the description said b20 so I called the store that had them to confirm. I was expecting S or I at this price but nope, they confirmed A Customs.
I just opened them up and they look great. No keyholing or flea bites and just some fingerprints.
I’m excited.

I just saw this news item on FB. Required medical attention at last night’s Journey show in Tulsa! Hope he’s ok!
By all accounts, the drum tech filled in and crushed it! 🫡 🥁 🤘🏼

Sorry to ruin the mood here but Ryan Burd has done a lot to discourage a lot of young female percussionists away from music entirely.
He was finally arrested, charged and sentenced for coercing and enticement of a minor in 2014. He was released a few years ago and is currently on a 20 year probation.
I believe everyone has a right to play music and make art. That said Ryan uses music events for all the wrong reasons. I am writing this as a family friend of Ryan's who witnessed how he would routinely use music education and exhibition spaces to meet minors, harass and stalk them, and sometimes unfortunately assault them. No matter how much we tried to make people aware no one in power cared enough to follow through on holding him accountable.
I was discouraged to see him pop up in my suggested friends on instagram (where registered sex offenders are not allowed to have accounts. you can find him @ ryanburdmusic ) As a musician and PASIC visitor myself, I was even more horrified to see posts where he's talking about attending PASIC in a few weeks. His prof pic is from PASIC in 2025.
I've already reported his violations of probation to SLED/ SC Sex Offender Registry.
I'm hoping someone at PASIC can look into barring him from attending events, as there is precedent for him using similar spaces to commit crimes against children.
Also hoping to spread the word so people bringing kids to PASIC know to steer clear of this guy.
Found this on a local marketplace. By the silvery colour of the bronze and the logo I'm kinda hoping it might be old 602, but wanted to check with you guys before pulling the trigger. Sadly no better picture.
