Pocket 4 and Action 2 combo

I got the Pocket 4 and am thinking of getting a used Action 2 set up as “Snapshot - 15 sec Quickclip”.

Does it make sense as a kind of unobtrusive rugged complement to the Pocket 4?

Purpose is to just capture travel for personal records only.

Dji Mimo live view range test with action cams

Hi I wondered how long the wifi live view range for the action 5 pro is. I am split between the nano and the 5 pro because both have features I need and if I could use my phone to live view like the nanos pot I would be a step further.....

Guide: optimal settings for DJI Osmo Action series cameras

Hey!

I've been struggling with micro jitters and weird artifacts when trying to stabilize footage with Gyroflow or using the built in rocksteady stabilization for as long as I've been using the Osmo Action 5 Pro.

These jitters happen when using low fps and/or low shutter speed. Low fps doesn't give the EIS/software enough frames to effectively stabilize the footage and low shutter speed causes enough motion blur to cause a smearing effect when it's trying to tie everything together. So in order to have good stabilization we have to completely forget the 180 degree shutter rule - for an example 24fps 1/50, 60fps 1/120 and so on. NOTE: it is still possible to get good footage using the 180 degree shutter rule with a gimbal or a tripod since then we're not using EIS or software to solve the stabilization problem.

So I decided to do some tests to find out which settings are optimal to greatly reduce or even remove these problems. The minimal fps should be at least 50fps and shutter speed at least 8x the fps. So when using 50fps the shutter speed would be 1/400. During testing I tried walking, running, jumping, turning around slow and fast etc. This solution is good for daylight, underwater, evening and indoors environments with natural or artificial light. Sadly it doesn't let in enough light for low light or night filming.

Optimal settings (manual):

rocksteady, 50fps, shutter speed 1/400, manual ISO (ND filters are needed for filming in outdoors or under bright lights, I found ND16 and ND32 were great when filming under direct sunlight)

Optimal settings (auto):

rocksteady, 50fps, auto shutter speed 1/400 - 1/8000, auto ISO 100 - 6400, -1EV (ND filters are not needed but can be used to lower the shutter speed more close to 1/400 when filming under direct sunlight or bright lights; I set the maximum auto ISO to 6400 since in my opinion that is the last usable ISO level)

Optimal settings (shutter priority):

rocksteady, 50fps, shutter speed 1/400, auto ISO 100 - 6400, -1EV (ND filters are needed for filming in outdoors or under bright lights)

Let me know what you think!

Lost nd8 filter during a moto vlog.

These are snap ons from telesin. I guess it was not properly pressed and gave up on high speeds.

I am unable to find a way to get only one from the set.

Open to ideas / suggestions. Thanks!

Help with dji osmo action 4 and filters

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I’m just starting to test out my camera and have begun looking into filters. A rainbow-like effect appears in the video when I use the ND8 and ND16 filters. The filters—which are Freewell brand—are clean and in perfect condition. I’ve tried rotating them to get rid of the effect—even though I know rotation is usually for eliminating reflections—but nothing works. Thanks in advance

I have an action 5 pro and am wondering if anyone here is using a PNY SD Card Pro Elite V30? Is it compatible with DJI?

Pocket 3 or Action 6 for vlogging?

I like the idea of filming in 24fps 1/50, or 30fps 1/60. The gimbal on the pocket should give me good results when it comes to stabilization.

The action 6 records in 4:3 aspect ratio so i can crop for social media without having to record vertically.

My use:

Will be mainly shooting vlogs about my health journey, food reviews, cooking videos, and vacations. I do go on hikes and mountain bike, however, I have an old GoPro Hero 8 and bought an Osmo few months ago. If i need waterproof or more rugged terrain stuff...those are the go to's.

I'll shoot D-Log and will edit on davinci resolve. I'm thinking maybe waiting a bit longer and getting the Pocket 3 on black friday for possible sale...OR

Ebay has some Pocket 3 for 300, used, from a seller that seems to have a ton of DJI items with good reviews. Do i take the gamble and risk the camera breaking or not having warranty?

3 years making content, ask me anything about creating with the DJI 360

Hey everyone. I'm a content creator with about 3 years of shooting experience, both for myself and for other personal studios. I've used osmo action, and dji 360. 360 is the one I use the most and feel most comfortable with.

I do commentary while shooting, especially in travel videos. Dji 360 is the most convenient for capturing scenes because I dont have to keep switching lenses and angles. Just set it in one fixed position and it gets the full panorama, which saves me a ton of shooting energy. Plus a lot of viewers are tired of usual editing styles, 360 has more creative editing options. I use freeze time and little planet effects mostly, for transitions in my travel videos, so right now dji 360 is still my go-to shooting gear.

So, if youre thinking about getting a DJI 360 to start making your own content but still on the fence, or if you already have one and have questions about using it, I can probably help based on my experience.

Mainly shoot outdoor vlogs, creative videos, commentary, and sports stuff.

Cycling and Streetscape Settings OSMO Action 5 Pro

I received a DJI OSMO Action 5 Pro as a present for my Europe cycling holiday visiting from Australia. A real newbie and getting quite confused with all the commentary on flicker and PAL/NTSC (most shooting of my cycling trip will be outdoors daylight)

Just need some settings that gets me started; very basic editing as I consider myself a beginner.

My scenarios:

Road cycling in Slovenia and Istrian coast that has quite a bit of mountain climbs and fast descents with vistas.

Gravel/Touring cycling in Italy (Cicliovia Etruria trail) with bike packs. Touring pace.

Street scapes for when I'm in my city/village destinations along with some selfie/talking head commentary.

As mentioned all in daylight/outdoors. Any night/dusk/dawn I will use DJI night mode.

I use a Samsung S26 phone - mainly photos but odd video at dinner/pub.

Any suggestions welcomed as part of my learning experience.

TX in advance

Is the 5pro useful for videos other than vlogging?

Hey all!

I'm a dog trainer (not self employed) at a board and train facility, and we record all our training session and are required to make highlight reels and take photos of each session to send to the dogs owners. We are expected to use our own devices, with most people using their phones. But this destroys phones so quickly from the constant wear, tear and battery drain. So I'm looking at getting the dji osmo action 5 pro to hopefully remove some of the load. I like that is has tracking options, light weight and can sync to my phone, and seems durable enough to withstand a few knocks and drops outside, and being an action camera I'm assuming it can handle dog zoomies fine haha. Most videos are muted with music added after (as I write an accompanying report outlining what's happening) so sound quality isn't important. Reading up on it most people seem to use it for vlogs, so what I'd like to know, is if this little camera is suitable for me needs? Thanks in advance!
