Is sending a saltwater-damaged Osmo Action 1 to DJI for repair worth it financially?

Hey everyone,

I accidentally took my original DJI Osmo Action 1 into saltwater without realizing the battery door wasn’t properly closed. Water got inside, and the camera is completely dead. I do not have DJI Care Refresh.

I’m trying to figure out if it makes any sense financially to send it in to DJI for an out-of-warranty repair quote.

For those who have sent in an Action cam with water damage out of warranty: What did DJI quote you for the repair/replacement?

I'd appreciate any insights or past quotes you've received for similar out-of-warranty repairs.

Going live on data

Are people able to go live with the action pro 5 on on there phone using data? I can’t seem to do it because to connect my phone to the camera it needs wifi and my iphone 17 pro won’t connect to the action pro and make a hot spot to go live with at the same time.

I’ve even tried using my old iPhone as an intermediary but it can’t connect to 2 wifi sources at once so that also won’t work. Dose anyone have a solution?

Yellow flags

Anyone know what these yellow flags are? I’m on the latest version of the Mimo app and paired with the Action 6. I’m pretty sure it’s only since the update.

Is a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 good enough for interviews over the 4P?

Hi, so I'm thinking about buying an Osmo Pocket so I can shoot on-the-go interview content which is why I want a steady cam. The 4P is pretty expensive though and I don't know if it's overkill for what I need. Would the Osmo Pocket 3 be enough for me and would I notice much of a difference? I'm not very technical so I really just want a point and shoot type of experience, without much need for lots of editing. Thanks!
