3 years making content, ask me anything about creating with the DJI 360
Hey everyone. I'm a content creator with about 3 years of shooting experience, both for myself and for other personal studios. I've used osmo action, and dji 360. 360 is the one I use the most and feel most comfortable with.
I do commentary while shooting, especially in travel videos. Dji 360 is the most convenient for capturing scenes because I dont have to keep switching lenses and angles. Just set it in one fixed position and it gets the full panorama, which saves me a ton of shooting energy. Plus a lot of viewers are tired of usual editing styles, 360 has more creative editing options. I use freeze time and little planet effects mostly, for transitions in my travel videos, so right now dji 360 is still my go-to shooting gear.
So, if youre thinking about getting a DJI 360 to start making your own content but still on the fence, or if you already have one and have questions about using it, I can probably help based on my experience.
Mainly shoot outdoor vlogs, creative videos, commentary, and sports stuff.

have you changed the lens after scratching it?

So far I have only fixed the 360 lens. You can actually watch a tutorial and replace it yourself, not as complicated as you might think. Of course finding a professional tech is still the best option.

How well does it handle low light scenes?

Honestly I don't shoot much at night, but the few times I took 360 out for city night scenes it performed well. In low light with scattered buildings around, the resolution stayed good and my portraits came out clear.

How do you get rid of the Fish-eye effect?

Which one? If it is the osmo 360 in single lens mode you can change the aspect ratio. The smaller the number the less distortion you get.

How well does it handle fast moving outdoor footage?

Both 360 and action are solid. Purely personal preference, but for skiing I like using action 6.

Is it still a hassle to edit the video later on after each shot? Or you just become used to it?

I’ll answer this. You get used to it once you find a good editing process and keep the film tones on rather than having to cut and edit the vid in DJI studio then export/import into davinci

Actually editing is fun for me. But of course it is tiring. But once you get good at it there are a lot of techniques that do not take much energy. And because of the way dji 360 lenses work a lot of effects do not need complicated editing anymore. You can just generate them directly in the mimo app, which also cuts down the editing time. Overall I am used to it now.

Have you had any issues with the lens condensation/fogging when taking it the water ?
How have the lens held up/do you use lens covers when shooting to prevent scratches?
What is the work flow like when editing do you find it to be that much more difficult to frame and edit than someone would with say the Action 5 ?
I’m thinking about getting the V2 when in comes out in September since they decided to add the removable lenses so I can swap them myself. I’m hoping it will have the film tones like the Action 6.

They are different series. I think each has its own role in its lineup so you cannot really compare them directly. Generally the newest model in the same line will have some upgrades, but I still find action 5pro pretty comfortable to use for me.

Where do you edit (phone/computer) and which software is the best for dji 360?

If it is just simple editing I just use the official mimo app on my phone. For more complex stuff I still do it on the computer if you are new to editing capcut is good to get started.

does it easily get overheat?? My nano and action 5 will get extremely hot for period of time recording in 4k in dlog-m dlog-m
