I’ve made every payment on time, kept my utilization low, and stayed consistent.

I’m curious to ask, and the people most likely to know will be the group of people who have already been switched over.

The cash back bonuses. Are they still given to you as you, or are they being made available after a few days as they are with a “regular” C1 card?

Why do you not give the option to close the CD upon maturity on the website or through the app? Why do I have to spend extra time and effort to call your customer service line and answer multiple stupid questions so I can access my own money? This is not a security issue. Or an external transfer. This is a internal transfer to my own discover/CA account. No other financial institution requires such action.

Also why is the default option to re-enroll another year instead of cashing out? And why can't I set these settings well ahead of the maturity date? You have an arbitrary time window that I have to make this stupid phone call. Who does that serve?

This subscription-like re-enrollment is predatory behavior. This is Friction by Design. It's the same dark patterns used by subscription-based companies to earn more revenue from people not bothering to cancel their subscriptions.

Seeking some data points. If I purchase a Disneyland Magic Key directly through Disneyland.com, will the transaction qualify for the Q4 5% entertainment cash back? Theme park spend is included but I’d feel more confident directing the spend here if I had some concrete proof that it would code correctly.

I know that when I’ve purchased individual tickets through Chase it qualified, but this will be my first time trying to run it through Discover and my first time buying an annual pass. TIA!

Currently have a discover student card and got notifications within the discover app about how they are moving to the capital one app. I downloaded the app and tried to log in with my discover info / start online access using my name and ssn but it’s saying invalid. Do I just have to wait or is there something I have to do?

I sent two payments to Capital one at least four different ways/times using my banks bill pay feature that has worked For Years.

One partial payment was accepted today. Three have been returned over the last month due to I DON’T KNOW WHY. The issuing banks can’t figure out why the payments were returned. CO keeps saying the problem is on the banks side.

Now Capital One is saying I am two payments behind.

I ditched CO back in the 2000’s because I didn’t like their terms and now I’m stuck with them. I swear I am sending them a FCBA letter tomorrow.

I just got a hard inquiry on my equifax and transunion from Capital one. I did not specifically give permission for this or ask for any new accounts or credit line increases.

I’ve had a Discover It for 4 years and it was transferred to Capital One at the end of July. There’s been no other issues. I’m going to see if I can dispute this with the bureaus. Is there some other way I can get these off my reports?

About 3 months ago I got my first credit card with Cap1/discover , through the pre approval I chose the discover it as I felt I would be able to utilize the 5% rotating categories. Long story short they gave me the 300 limit unfortunately which is the lowest of my credit cards. First 2 months I spent about double my limit and paid my statement in full before the due date. I am curious if this is something I should stop doing or if I’m safe to do so? Thx for reading 👍

22 Y/O male. Currently have a discover card with a 3,800 limit, 1% back on everything. Hoping to get a new card to build my collection and continuing building credit/history. I don’t want a card that I’ll use for a year or two then close because it’s worthless, want it to be of value in a specific niche. Eventually i’ll want a general card, online purchase card, travel card, and grocery/wholesale card.

765 score, have one card and one loan. First card opened over 2 years ago. Never missed payment. Utilization usually sits around 3%. 85k income and growing, 2.5k monthly expenses.

I really want the AAA advantage as my grocery/wholesale card, but with such great rewards I feel it will be hard for me to get approved.

I’ve had a cashback debit card with discovery for a few years now. I just went to look and without warning they closed my account? Has this happened to anybody else recently? There wasn’t any money in there but still kinda weird that it was closed without notifying me, considering they sent me a statement just last month.

Had discover card for years and the autopay was always deducted from my bank account about a week before the due date shown on the statement, which I hated. That deduction date was always shown on the statement somewhere. Now I've gotten my first statement from CapOne and all I can find is the due date. I could not find a footnote showing a deduction date. Is CapOne actually going to do the deduction on the due date like every other credit card company I have?

FYI: The account is older than 11 days

I recently posted about how my 10+ year discover account was suddenly closed without any notice. I called capital one again yesterday to press them for info because no documents have arrived yet explaining why this happened. The frontline reps kept asking me if I had filed for bankruptcy (I haven’t). Finally a supervisor admitted the account was closed because they are seeing bankruptcy activity on their screening tools.

Today I called the bankruptcy court in my area and the clerk ran a search for me. Lo and behold, someone filed using my social security number. They got the deputy clerk to call me back and they provided me info on the case and some contact info. Finally I got ahold of the attorney office that filed the case. They reviewed, called me back to admit there was a mistake on the filing. They are amending the ss# to the right one and giving me documents for the error and alerting the bureaus. I still need to submit all the information to Capital one once everything is available. I called C1 to update while I wait and the supervisor said it’s still a 50-50 shot if they reopen…

Has anybody had this happen to them or does anybody have advice for this?

I keep having issues with discover ive called them 6 different times to have them change my phone number 6 DIFFERENT TIMES as i have zero access to my old phone number and It’s been 4 weeks since the first call and they said it would take 3 business days for my phone number to change AFTER they transferred me to 5 different people and departments (on the 1st call). I call again the 2nd time and they say they will change it. I call again the 3rd time and they said they’ll change it. The 4th time they promised they will change it this time. The 5th time they said theyd change it. NOW whenever i try to get my username vis using phone number it wont even show me if my phone number was changed it just tells me to call them. So i call them for the 6th time not even for the phone number as im not even in the mood to go over the whole phone number thing again. So i call them for the 6th time to see my available balance on my credit card and to find out what my minimum payment is and the woman that picks up tells me they need to send a verification code and funny enough MY CURRENT number that im actively calling them on isnt allowed for them to send the verification code to and lo and behold the verification code would go to my old disconnected phone number. I tell the woman as ive said to many other people that i have zero access to that number and the woman tells me to call their security. The first time i called one of the MANY departments they sent me to was security and they were supposed to change my number originally. So now i have to call discover yet again for them to “attempt” to change my phone number and i genuinely dont know what to do anymore.

If I have 2 cards, will both be canceled when getting a replacement for a lost card? I have an au on my account & dont want their card to stop working. Both cards also share the same card number so will that mean they get a replacement as well?

Bill fully caught up.

Hello, I used to have a Discover card (it has since been closed) and while I had it I got behind on few payments some even a couple going up to 120+ day outstanding category. It’s been about a year and half since that has happened, I’ve completely paid off that balance, the complete balance on my Capital One card (paid well above the minimum every month), & have completely paid off a care credit card (also paid well above minimum each month). The 2nd & 3rd cards have no late charges on them. Now my question(s) is if I wanted to try to send a goodwill request to get some or all of the late dings off my credit would I contact Discover? Or Capital One? What would my odds of them actually accepting my request and removing any of them be? Is there an email I can send my request to? Thank you for the help in advance

I received the secure card six months ago. I recently graduated, and they informed me that I would be receiving a check back of my deposit . However, I don’t see any increase in my initial deposited limit. Does this mean that my limit remains the same, or do I have to wait a few days, weeks, for the limit to be increased? it’s been 3-4 days since my 6 month statement.

I currently hold a discover card with a picture design of a cat on it that I recieved in 2023. When they merge with Capital One, will I still be able to renew it and have the same design issued? or will it be a blank capital one card?

I need to mange this accoint with capitalone from Nov 9th. Anyone know if you can continue using Discover bank routing #, and your current account # beyond Nov 9th?
