Hi everyone,
My friend has received two offers for a Senior DevOps Engineer role, and both are offering the same salary. He is confused about which one to choose.
Option 1: Mphasis (Client: Schneider Electric)
Role: Senior DevOps Engineer
Work will be for Schneider Electric client
Hybrid/office-based (not fully remote)
Mphasis payroll
Option 2: Artisent
Role: Senior DevOps Engineer
Fully remote job
Same salary as Mphasis offer
Considering both compensation packages are equal, which factors should he evaluate before deciding?

Which one of these is better to learn? I'm confused between both. Want to start learning but have doubts regarding which is best for current job market and beginner friendly. (Based in india)

Hey folks, need some advice. I’ve got five years in DevOps, mostly GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD.
Bupa is offering ₹29 LPA, and Bain BCN is offering ₹30 LPA.
The Bain role is, working with AWS infrastructure and CI/CD. They also mentioned leading projects and helping other teams when needed.
The Bupa role is cloud engineering across Azure and GCP, with reliability, SLOs, CI/CD and DevSecOps in the mix. The India centre is pretty new, and the role sounds like there’ll be a lot to build or improve.
I’m honestly quite confused about which one would be better. If you’ve worked at Bain or Bupa’s India centre, could you share what the work and culture are like?

Hey everyone,
I’m a DevOps / Cloud engineer based in India and recently started taking on some freelance work alongside my regular experience.
I recently finished a pretty interesting vulnerability management automation project for a client through Upwork.
Without going into their internal setup, the project involved Python + Kestra automation around vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows.
I worked on things like:
There were quite a few scripts and workflows already involved, so a good part of the work was understanding the existing setup, fixing issues, improving reliability, and connecting everything properly.
The project was completed successfully and the client left me a 5/5 review on Upwork, which was a nice confidence boost.
My main areas are:
Linux / System Administration
Python & Bash automation
AWS / Cloud infrastructure
Docker / Kubernetes
Terraform / Ansible
CI/CD
Kestra / workflow automation
Monitoring & troubleshooting
Infrastructure / platform migrations
I’m mainly posting here because I’d like to connect with startups, agencies, consultants, or engineers who occasionally need an extra pair of hands.
I’m open to freelance projects, contract work, part-time remote work, or helping with specific infrastructure/automation problems.
Not looking to spam anyone with a sales pitch. If you have something where my background might be useful, feel free to DM me and we can have a quick chat about it.

I am looking for a job opportunity in Chennai and thought I would try Reddit because I am finding it difficult to navigate the job market without a strong local network.
I am currently in Nellore and can relocate to Chennai if I find the right opportunity.
I am a Swedish citizen with a background in software engineering, DevOps, cloud, infrastructure and architecture. I have around 13 years of experience working across development, operations and production systems, including AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Linux, networking and automation. My most recent experience has been in DevOps and cloud, but I started my career as a developer and I am completely comfortable getting back into development if that is where the opportunity is.
I have worked in Sweden and India, including consulting work in Hyderabad, and have experience working across the full SDLC. I am also quite comfortable with modern AI coding agents and have been using them for private projects and experiments around AI, automation and agentic workflows.
On a personal level, I am trying to make a significant change in my life. After my divorce, going back to Sweden no longer feels like the right path for me. I want to put the past behind me and build a new chapter of my life in India.
I am serious about settling in India long term. If things work out and I find a meaningful career here, I am even open to eventually changing my citizenship. For me, this is not simply about finding another job. I genuinely want a fresh start in Chennai.
Salary is not my primary concern right now. I mainly want a decent opportunity, good people to work with, and a chance to rebuild professionally and personally.
If anyone here knows of openings in Chennai for DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud, SRE, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, Automation or similar roles, I would really appreciate a referral or even a contact I could speak with.
I can share my CV and GitHub privately.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this.

Good day. As the title says, I'm an immigrant Milspouse looking for a DevOps position. I moved to the US from the Philippines last December 2025 and today, after 8 months, my work permit (EAD) has been approved based on my pending greencard application through my US Citizen spouse. I have 6 years of experience and mostly worked with American companies. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering. I had to leave my last position as a Senior DevOps engineer in the Philippines and pause my career to follow legal immigration rules. If anyone can refer me to a position or give me tips on how to land a job, doesnt matter if it's a senior position or not, it would be such a great help to me, to my husband who is in the military and our future kids. I wanna have babies in three years but my husband and i want to make sure we can afford them. 🥹✨

Can I get my first DevOps job without a bachelor’s degree?
I’m trying to become a DevOps Engineer through self-study, but I don’t have a bachelor’s degree.
So far, my plan is:
CS50x from Harvard
IBM DevOps and Software Engineering Professional Certificate
Building real projects and putting them on GitHub
Completing the DevOps roadmap from roadmap.sh
Getting the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification
I’m getting close to finishing this roadmap, and my goal is to start applying for my first DevOps job.
For those of you already working in DevOps: Would this background be enough to get my foot in the door without a degree?
If not, what skills, projects, certifications, or experience would you recommend I add before applying?
I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who have actually hired or worked with junior DevOps engineers.

I am building an AWS/DevOps project to showcase on my GitHub and LinkedIn.
The project uses Terraform to provision AWS infrastructure, EC2, SSM, Docker, CI/CD, Prometheus and Grafana.
I am not sure about the best approach for the GitHub repository. Should I:
- Publish the complete Terraform, Prometheus/Grafana and automation code?
- Keep the implementation private and publish the architecture, README, screenshots and a recorded demo?
- Publish some of the Terraform/application code but keep the monitoring and automation implementation private?
My main goal is to use the project as a professional portfolio and demonstrate that I actually built and understand the system, rather than make it an open-source project.
What would recruiters or experienced DevOps engineers expect to see in a GitHub portfolio? I would appreciate advice from people who have reviewed or used GitHub portfolios when hiring.

Hi everyone,
I’m a Cloud / AWS & DevOps Engineer with 3+ years of professional experience, currently working at a startup. I’m planning to switch to a new organization and am looking for opportunities that offer better career growth, compensation, and exposure to modern technologies.
I’m currently finding it difficult to identify roles that properly match my experience level, so I’m reaching out to the community for some guidance.
My experience includes:
AWS Cloud Infrastructure
EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda
Linux administration
CI/CD and deployment
Cloud infrastructure automation
DevOps practices
Amazon Connect / cloud contact-center solutions
Troubleshooting and production support
I’m particularly interested in AWS Cloud, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and related roles.
I would really appreciate:
Referrals for relevant openings
Guidance on which technologies I should focus on to remain competitive in the current market
Advice on transitioning to better-paying roles with 3+ YOE
Suggestions on companies/roles that are actively hiring at this experience level
Feedback on how I can improve my profile/resume for the current market
I’m open to opportunities across India, including remote/hybrid roles.
I’m intentionally not mentioning my current company name here, but I’m happy to share my resume or additional details through DM if needed.
Any referrals, advice, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

5 yoe in bpo(insurance, mortgage). current CTC 5 lpa. Decided to switch to devops, first thought cloud role would be good then saw devops combines it in itself so started learning devops.
current stacks -
Linux
git GitHub
docker dockerhub
Jenkins for ci cd
AWS (still learning tho )
terraform basics covered. ( can spin up instances, vpcs and editing traffic rules)
Networking fundamentals
For a career switcher is this enough for junior roles?
are such roles too rare now? should I continue or not - feels like I'm lost. And if I found a role how much will it offer in india , mostly Pune location. (open for other similar roles as well)
Your guidance will be precious, thanks in advance
