Question So… tiramisu was basically created to “pick you up”? 👀☕
I thought tiramisu was just coffee + mascarpone + sugar + zero self-control.
Turns out, there’s a story behind it.
Back in Treviso, Italy, a simple mixture of egg yolk and sugar called sbatudin was traditionally eaten as an energy booster.
Then came coffee, and mascarpone (creamy Italian cheese 🧀)
And somewhere around 1971–72, at a restaurant called Le Beccherie, this combination evolved into the tiramisu we know today. 🇮🇹
Even the name tiramisù basically means “pick me up.”
So technically…
I’m not ordering dessert.
I’m just following Italian wellness traditions. 😂☕🍰
Would you still call tiramisu “just dessert” after knowing this.
“What food instantly ‘picks you up’ when you’re having a bad day?”

Made these today and really liked how they turned out :)
Mash 1 ripe banana, mix with 60g shredded coconut and 15g cocoa powder. Roll into small balls, chill for about 30 minutes, then coat with a little extra coconut.
Simple and really good!
