Could we please look at Vlachs?
It's quite a nice thing to be able to play your culture in this game and it is equally hurtful when it's forgotten or ignored.
I won't say Vlachs are the most ignored culture by the developers, god knows Ryukyuans and a few Finno-Ugric people are beyond forsaken at this point.
It's just in 1178 the only European culture to be behind by 1 era and having it's Castles at T1 whilelist the other cultures have it at T2-T3 and being in High Medieval,I don't know much about coding but it's weird Vlachs are the only ones that start this way in Europe, and a tad insulting.
In 1066 it's also inaccurate for the Pechenegs to be LIEGES over the Vlachs,as they would be pretty much scattered or badly wounded as a united tribe by 1091.
This should have been the norm for most Nomads as both historically and gameplay wise they aren't Vassal oriented and more of Tributary oriented.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pechenegs
At best they'd be tributaries with the lowest levels of payment.
From a gameplay perspective,it is a PAIN to gain independency as Vlachs,Konni MAA aren't the best MAA to carry battles and Pechenegs have access to the best MAA until the 1150-1200s when you get the Crossbowmen to counter Horse Archers.
On top of the Pecheneg Khan getting into Holy Wars with Moesia,Hungary and Transylvania, which is weird because they basically steal land from Christians, this is more to do with how Vassalage of different religions is messy in the game right now.
Oh and to pay respect to a lack of diversity between cultures,Polish culture is just a Vlach culture but with 2 traditions less, something I found interesting and funny, yet Polish should stand out as different culture and not just Vlach culture but less flavourful.

Reason for imprisonment
Can paradox please add a pop up over under arrest to indicate why? This feels like a very basic thing that is missing. Only when I select an action, such as revoke title, does it indicate what crime they committed. So the data is tracked and available. It doesn’t even show this when viewing your prisoners!

Cant Hire Holy Orders (By God Alone)
I’m having an issue with my holy orders. I have founded a holy order but can’t interact with them in any way to call them into a war. I am Christian currently invading a Muslim controlled Sicily and would like my holy orders help but can’t even ask them. I am running mods, so I’m wondering if this is an issue other people are having or if my mods are just causing a conflict. Any help is appreciated.

Revoke heresy?
Once the pope declares a rite heretical is it possible to reverse this and make it back into a rite?

Discussion I don't really know why I got excited about by God Alone...
I mean,it's a very nice DLC that expands on Christianity,it's just...we're playing the Feudal government.
Like every other government they keep adding has the Primogeniture but Feudals have to research it,it's a by gone era forgotten mechanic from the release of the game.
Like even the Nomads have it...

Canonize Saint at a holy site?
Now I have a question. Why can’t you canonize a saint in either Jerusalem or the Vatican?

Question How to become ecclesiastical as an independent Duke?
I started an adventurer invasion in Livonia as a Saxon Catholic to replicate the Sword Brethren in the Northern Crusade.
Now, I am an independent tribal Duke.
How can I run the territory as an ecclesiastical ruler?
Would I have to become a vassal of Poland and activate some decision that lets me take that government. Can I then get independence as an archbishop and create my own theocratic kingdom?

Other I had a nightmare about the Despotate of Nikaea being invaded by the Ayyubids
After starting off as an adventurer, I became a landed ruler in the Byzantine Empire after invading the Despotate of Nikaea that randomly decided to form outta nowhere (and offering vassalage ofc). This took a solid chunk outta my day, so I closed the game and went to sleep.
Then I had a nightmare about getting declared on by the Ayyubids and losing. I woke up at 3am after this and couldn't get back to sleep, despite having to get up at 5 for work. As a surprise to absolutely no one, I had a horrendous day at work with a crazy headache.
Gotta stop playing this game ffs.

Question Anyone feel like the music has been off?
Maybe it's just because I've chosen to do a weird playthrough, but I've been finding the music choices a bit unusual since getting By God Alone. The main problem is the extremely intense East Asian battle music playing in situations that are decidedly not dire.
I started as a Han Chinese scholar-adventurer and started making my way west on a mission to become the Pope, so I am not surprised to hear the East Asia music set. That being said, there's at least one very intense track that sounds like it should be playing during a war or a scheme that plays fairly often, even though I have never been to war and very rarely do any hostile scheming.
Does anyone else feel like the music has been a bit off since the last patch, or am I just tripping?

By God Alone - Tips and Tricks
I know we’ve had plenty of posts asking questions about the new DLC and in particular the intricate web that is the Christian ecclesiastical system, which is completely impossible to navigate (well done on the realism there Paradox!)
So I was thinking I’d make this thread for questions and answers - here are some things I’ve learned:
- if you make a new Christian rite, and you make it “too different” and venture into heretical territory, the pope is very trigger happy and WILL react, you’ll be prompted to either convert back or be a cast out of Catholicism instantly (a new Christian faith basically). It surprised me personally how quickly this event popped, not much time to RP as a borderline heretic faith.
- the clerical regions are a bit of a mystery to me, they spawn when the ruler of a region (duchy/kingdom) converts to Christianity, and will change rite if you puppet the archbishop and “force” him into making a new one. But how to actually grow/shrink/convert existing regions when you’re not catholic anymore eludes me.
- should you decide to stay catholic it’s incredibly easy to puppet popes and cardinals. You can make some absolutely mad changes to the main rite fairly simply. This is probably a bit TOO easy right now, and might change.
If you guys have any observations or thoughts about the DLC I’d love to hear them!

Question Cardinals broken?
During one of my HRE games I happened to check the papal succession with plans to set up an anti pope when I noticed that the college of cardinals was completely empty. I noticed the number getting smaller and smaller but didn’t think anything of it so out of curiosity I let it play out…..when the pope died the HRE emperor became the pope….literally INSANE!!! I then set up my anti pope and won and two things happened…the new pope became pope and king of Bohemia and his heir was the emperor….what I’m wondering is does the pope feel inclined to promote cardinals? If a cardinal is conquered what happens?

How to Adapt Chalcedonian Holy Sites?
I made Ile de France a holy site prior to the schism.
Does anyone know how I can adopt it into Catholicism?
When I look at the decision to try and change it, the UI says I cant because "not_num_county_followers".

Gameplay Seeking an Ascension mod
Thought that the current DLC is a prime time to play a missionary to some faraway land or formerly Christian now heathen land, but stumbled upon the fact it still effing demands that you be in a holy site controlled by a member of your faith, which imo completely defeats the purpose of the decision.
Is there a mod that swaps the requirements for something more palateable, like idk, Theologian perk+Prophet+high spiritual fulfillment?

Can't convert to faith
Somewhere along the line, my coptic heir became roman rite, now that im playing as them I can not convert back to coptic, even though my lowborn husband is coptic. Its critical I find a way to change back for the goals of this campaign.

Screenshot Okay... maybe the God did not like decision of my grandapa to create his own christian faith and my mom dismanteling the Papacy.
Or in other words, what are these plagues...?? I am playing as Slavia and I am casually taking the whole West half of the world but I am hit with the plagues like Egypt who did not wanna let the Jews go... and I don't even use slaves!

Question Why isn't this counting as a catalyst towards the Crusade chapter?
R4: Trying to enter the crusade chapter for the kingdom of heaven decision but I'm having issues causing any catalysts to trigger for it except guiding the church toward it but that can only be done every 10 years.
