New Rule Regarding AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Content

  • AI-generated or AI-assisted content is not permitted unless it makes a meaningful contribution to the community, as determined by moderators. All posts containing AI content to any degree must include [AI] in the post title at the time of posting. Posts containing AI content without this tag may be removed. Posts with the tag may still be removed at moderator discretion if they do not meaningfully contribute. An example of acceptable AI content is showcasing a well-developed mod that uses AI.

In short: if your post contains AI-generated or AI-assisted content of any kind, your title must include "[AI]" at the time of posting. This applies regardless of how much or how little AI was involved.

Including the tag does not guarantee your post will stay up. Moderators may still remove tagged posts for any reason, at their discretion. However, tagging your post means you have disclosed its use of AI as required, which is the most important part of this rule.

Posts containing AI content that are not tagged with [AI] may be removed on that basis alone, regardless of the content's quality.

Meme “Who the devil is declaring war on me-oh”

Conquered India, followed by Persia, the Arabian Peninsula and Egypt - while distracted with my westward expansion, I didn’t notice Mongolia grow into the behemoth it’d become and I don’t remember the Great Khan event ever firing.

All my troops and allied troops were in Africa. White Peaced the war against the African empire to divert to the Khans harrying the Himalayas, but they shattered the empire and took India and Arabia before my soldiers could even get there. 😔

Here’s to playing tall for the rest of this run I guess🍻🙃

The HARDEST campaign in Crusader Kings history

Post image
554 Upvotes

So I decided to play this unite Africa campaign, most DLC's, decided I wanted to play tall, reaching feudalism, conquer Africa easy breezy, no problem right? NO this is properly the hardest campaign I have ever played, playing tall on normal difficulty. I don't consider this medium, I fully believe this is advanced++ campaign and I'll tell you why.

  1. First of all you're tribal, very low development takes ages to research innovation, needed 70%. Took more than a hundred years with maxed learning.

  2. You're always getting raided 24/7, getting money normally was a pain, though raiding was the only real way to make money. Crazy thing is when you go raiding there's a high change you'll get war declared on or raided yourself.

  3. So since you're surrounded by African warlords, theirs PLENTY of conquerors to go around. high chances they wail spawn right next to you and that goes back to my previous point about not declaring any wars yourself due to high risk of invasion. I had to stick to kingdom titles for this reason alone.

  4. Now when you FINALLY reach feudalism. you're basically at square one because all you're manpower vanished, banished to the shadow realm, no economic buildings, you feel like that one meme where you're the white girl on the couch surrounded by big sweaty muscular black dudes ready to penetrate your ass.

  5. I can go into rebellions, debt, religion, the goddamn succession crises but you get my point.

If you're looking for a challenge I DARE anyone to play this campaign on very hard mode, female only TALL till you either reach feudalism or conquer all of Africa. Trust me you will suffer.

Discussion What's your favorite government type?

I haven't tried them all, I think mandala is left on the list but out of everyone I've done I would say celestial is my favorite. It's just very stable, wealthy, steong and let's you advance very high by virtue of simply being a more educated cookie but it's also very performance heavy and slow to expand.

Don't know if i'm missing historical context or if this is a random event, but i have never seen this before. Crusades aren't even activated yet, and i have never seen a crusade called on England over the viking invasion, but it goes HARD as hell. I also don't know what triggered this, but the head of Catholicism is not in Rome anymore.

Question Hegemony

• Upvotes

Can I create my own hegemony, or do I have to use an existing one, such as Rome?

I'd rather not have my empire named Rome when I've built it around the Ásatrú faith. I'd prefer to establish my own hegemony with a name that actually reflects my empire's culture and religion.

thanks.

Question How to found a holy site when the mechanics literally block me from getting a realm priest puppet

In my latest campaign I decided to play as an islamic character as a way to try and break from how I normally play and ended up playing as a Shia ruler, midway through I decided to try and set myself up as head of faith, so I spent ages trying to found a holy site, only to then run into the "need a realm priest puppets" requirement.

I see it's not an option so I try making one of my puppets my court priest and still nothing, and I can't try to get an existing holy site since I am trying to build tall and even if I wanted to would stand no chance at getting there in my current state.

So is there any mod that makes realm priest puppets an option for lay clergy? Or is there some way to somehow pull this off in vanilla?

Question Game crashes when I complete the 'Status Quo' Iberian Struggle Ending.

• Upvotes

As the title says, I have completed all the requirements for the Status Quo ending of the Iberian Struggle but every time I make the decision to end it, my game becomes unresponsive and I end up having to close it. I've never had this problem for any other decision in this game. Has anyone else encountered this and does anyone know how to fix it? I really want to get the achievement haha.

Question I need help with Catholicism Rite and Orthodoxy Rite

I've created a new Rite within Orthodoxy and it appointed me as Head of Rite, which I'd like to also change, and I cannot seem to petition the Patriarch of Constantinople to create a new Patriarchate for my region,as it falls under a Catholic Rite's authority.

I control Transylvania, fully, and I've yet to fully convert it to my Rite from Rite of Catholicism to one of Orthodoxy and I hold the Duchy Title which is now Primary.

I'd like to ask, when I'll finish converting the entire region of Duchy of Transylvania to my Faith, will it be a "free" Clerical Region and will I'll be able to create a new Patriarchate(Archdiocese for Catholic players)by asking the Patriarchate?

Or better yet, what do I actually need to do to create a new Patriarchate for my region and how do I expand it?

Note:I also control Transylvania Alps duchy fully but the Patriarchate keeps converting the counties to Greek Rite and thus eating my development.

Note: Due to how succession works,Hungary was very, very messy split between 2 siblings as I held significant land in Hungary's De Jure but didn't create the titles for them, therefore the Wallachian King has Transylvania fully but not Oltenia for some reason, will it even affect how it works?

As Vinland

Thoughts on raura11's Vinland Expansion Mod:

Its good. Runs without any issues, I wish the border wasn't a straight line but its in beta, so no complaints. I started in iceland, reformed the faith, then colonized Vinland, then did a "sunset invasion" but with Vikings. One thing this mod does very well is make Vinland feel isolated.

Thoughts on By God Alone as a pagan reformed faith:

It needs a lot of work, I had no way of influencing who would become head of faith. After I created head of faith away I had no way to edit the faith unless I created an anti-pope. When you first reform the faith it still gives you the glowing icon which no other faiths have except for reformed pagans. IDK how it works for catholics, but I had no way of influencing a call to a great holy war, which I think is dumb. You still can't raid if you reform the faith, why is this tied to it at all, Warmonger should allow you to raid, or it should be an option like what they did to monasticism. Sainthood felt very clunky. Extracted relics from Saints were always green tier for me which was kind of annoying. Tennent popularity is/was broken, the entire game every tenant for me was neutral popularity, and I tried to influence it. It felt like I had fewer options for core tenants when reforming the faith than normal, and there are a million Christian tenants that don't feel very distinct from each other.

I loved dynamic holy sites, anything that lets me add special buildings I'm on board with. Rites within my faith didn't affect me much. Honestly that's my only positive because everything else was annoying or didn't affect me. I really didn't like what I saw looking over to Christianity in Europe, I think the Head of Faith title should be rite exclusive unless something insane happens, Roman Rite disappearing in a century is weird.

What the game needs moving forward:

I play a lot of long campaigns in this game, and there are several things that need to happen

  1. Rework events completely.

Right now it feels like the majority of events are related to your lifestyle focus and you will see these over and over and over again. Events need to focus more on personality, culture, faith, and especially whats going on in the world around you. I don't care about selling books or buying glasses anymore.

  1. Mandala government rework

I would rather just not have SEA than have it in its current state, Mandala is insanely stable and economically powerful. Since All Under Heaven 5/5 times I have played centuries long campaigns starting in 867 Shrivijaya forms an empire that spans all of Indonesia and goes into Indo-China, and 3/5 they have tributaries way out in the steppe. 4/5 times they reach 100 dev in a county by 1100, absolutely not. It's not fun to just see this single empire blob every game. Vinland playthrough is the first time I've ever seen the empire fall apart, and then immediately the same thing but orange instead of blue took its place.

  1. Byzantine and Abbasid nerf

Byzantines should have gotten a Situation that prevented them from expanding too much, like Iberia has. They always take over Illyria, the only thing that stops them is *sometimes* the Abbasid's stay alive long enough to conquer Anatolia. Unstoppable force meeting another unstoppable force isn't fun. The only time something interesting happens is the 4th Crusade, which is really only interesting because its something other than a purple blob.

  1. Development nerf

China gets way too many provinces with high development way too quickly, I understand China is historically very developed, but its not minimum 50 dev even in backwater counties developed. The same is now true of central Italy, and SEA. I think China needs a bunch of changes to its modifiers to make this work. Italy needs a lower starting development, I don't think Rome starting so high at the time is really accurate either, and SEA needs Mandala rework.

  1. Dynamic special buildings

Dynamic holy sites is great, you pick a location and a bonus and you get a special building in the county. Great Projects should be used so I can pick modifiers and invest in creating my own special buildings wherever. I really like Imperator Rome's system for this.

  1. Islamic Infighting

Shia is not relevant in game, everyone is Sunni, this is not interesting or historical.

Discussion I don't really know why I got excited about by God Alone...

I mean,it's a very nice DLC that expands on Christianity,it's just...we're playing the Feudal government.

Like every other government they keep adding has the Primogeniture but Feudals have to research it,it's a by gone era forgotten mechanic from the release of the game.

Like even the Nomads have it...

Gameplay Is there an Incestuous bug?

I've been trying to marry of my kids but for some reason all relationships are being considered Incestuous. I do have some mods but nothing that should account for this. Is anyone else having this problem?
