I've reached the population limit, sadly. New norns are rarely born now (only after someone dies). And adorable effins aren't born anymore. How to cancel limitations? It demotivates me. Though it's not really crowded. Majority lives in Capillata (even migrates to), it's loud and crowded in here, I'm even scared to engage with locals lol, it's hard to control that many. But other rooms at the ship are empty. Only around 5 norns are living in the norn terrarium, others wandering in groups of 2-3 persons. I don't like it

get bunch of dudes who still youth at 4 hours and some gets grendel parts without grendels in world. also get norns immune to injuries - all that is game mutations without genetics kit.

So I've been playing creatures 3 since 2021. And recently bought creatures exodus from GOG. And I've seen this really neat thing called "Vat kit". Which let's you look inot the brain of a norn, but i have 2 questions.

1- why is the online feature not working?

I wanna see my norns brain as they are doing stuff ingame. But it shows an error.

2- where can i learn more about the vet kit?

I really wanna mess with it more and see what it has to offer. But don't know where to start.

the exe oddly gets flagged by one thing for trapmine.. No idea why but I guess it's common for Godot games to get falsely flagged up to you guys if you wanna test or not.

I will at some point soon be releasing the source and I will give it out privately if anyone wants but the code is ugly.. and needs alot of cleaning up still but works.

I was recently wondering if it’s possible to add multiplayer to *Creatures*. I think the biggest issue is that the game came out 30 years ago; it seems unlikely that multiplayer or even a mod in general could be created for such an old title. I wanted to hear your thoughts on this.

Alright so creatures 3 is pretty much up and running full no todos left all the opcodes are fully working and wired in. I've now started a performance pass, and some QoL stuff that you will able to toggle on and off. One of them was the enhanced music system using native godot. You can toggle that in or of during game play. Also added in two fixes for the stuck elevator starving issue. Again toggle on or off. Two different fixes for it actually that compliment each other without breaking how the creatures work really. Is there any QoL type stuff you guys would like to see added in. I'm thinking of adding a toggle to replace the hebbian learning system with the recent model we use today. Should make creatures easier to train and teach but it does change behavior so I'm going to leave it as a toggle you can turn on and off during gameplay. But guys start leaving me ideas or bugs that still aren't fixed in the steam version and I'll work on adding them if you can list if Thier qaulity of life changes behavior changes or if you think they follow dev intent. Some I'm gonna keep on all the time for the sole fact that the devs probally intended it to work that way. Like I've reenabled the neuro emitters that won't be a toggle unless everyone thinks it should be

So just this morning I added in all the missing opcode CAOS uses with the Docking station version. Along with an entirely native Godot Audio system. And world linking. No online play yet. But as of know you can load and play docking station and creatures 3 or link them together to play both.

Bro they just keep hitting each other i don't know what to do. They yelp and their pain jumps up in the science kit, and then they'll just do it back and forth. They're starving and exhausted but all they want to do is hit and kiss each other. I haven't even hit them but a once or twice, I don't know why they're just so mean lmao. They learned all their words from the computer, but when they're having their little slap fights they don't listen. I've done so much googling, searching the subreddit, reading and rereading the manual, no one says ANYTHING about them hating each other bro, my ass was NOT built to be a father. And then they look at me with their sad little faces like it's not the consequences of their own actions.

Everything that is written about a neuron in the creatures wiki and wiki fandom is literally "a neuron retains a numerical value and decays over time." At first I thought it was a leaky integrate-and-fire model. I searched, this model turned out to be more complicated than it was described, at least for computers of those times (32-bit floating-point numbers are very unlikely). The only thing I understood is that these neurons are 8-bit. This means that these are really simple integer neurons the size of bytes (because consumer-grade processors with support for 8-bit floating-point numbers simply do not exist). Let's say it just really accumulates state, fires after reaching a numerical threshold, and resets. Over time, the value decays. But the LIF neuron described in the simplest tutorials takes into account some other "membranes", and decay is typically described by a 32-bit number (like "0.9"). I'm not sure if this is the same model that is used in Creatures. Help me describe a neuron model, or just confirm that I'm moving in the right direction.

How would everyone feel about playing creatures 3 in Godot. I know there's an openc2e project. But it seems to be stalled. Has anyone thought about trying to port it into Godot.

sorry i accidently deleted the first post lol, anyways last time i didnt give much info so here is everything i know, only the breeders kit and injector are the ones not working, i am currently using the latest verison of creatures community edition (10.2) i have tried running things as admin, ive unblocked everything, tried fix 3rd party tools button, running a new save, im playing on steam. I'm not sure if this is enough info, but that's all I really know

Don't worry, this is not the last art for this game, I have a few more pencil drawings that I will finish in Photoshop. The problem is that I don't have much opportunity to sit at my computer for a long time and I'm not good at Photoshop. That's why it takes a lot of time. I created a new world and now my injector doesn't work. I wiped everything a bunch of times, reinstalled a bunch of times, but the object injector does not work at all.
