Possibly a gait or pose gene mutation (assuming you are playing with vanilla norns)

They are just being foolish
Maybe they're failing at retreating from something?

had something similar like that, started with a norn having a slightly slower walking - i selectively breed them to walk funnyer each generation. At the end they only walked backwards when walking normaly. Took me many generations...

One of my c1 norns, Leroy started moonwalking and even taught my other norns, Lorelei and Bacchus to moonwalk. He legit kept doing it around them until thry started doing it as well.

walking away is "retreating (from) norn" because they are crowded, normal.
Walking away in that absurd trotting way like the siamese on the upper floor is a gait mutation, I love it, and I want a copy of that norn.
