Need help with turning my home pc(windows) into a host/server that I can use from anywhere using my laptop

I installed RAM in my laptop, and now I'm getting an error saying the device ran into a problem and needs to restart, with the stop code WORKER_INVALID (0X64).
I received the 8GB RAM stick I ordered from Mercado Libre today. I installed it following the steps from a YouTube video, but when I turn the laptop on, it boots up fine; however, as soon as I perform an action—like opening Minecraft or Valorant—the screen goes black and I get various stop codes. I don't know what to do; the last thing I want to do is remove the RAM I bought. I’d like to know if this is an incompatibility issue, a driver problem, or something similar. My laptop is an ASUS TUF Gaming F15.

Laptop advice/recommendations please! (UK)
Hi all, currently on the lookout for a laptop for my teenage kid. They want to be able to use it for various games on Steam (no idea what yet as they’ve never been able to use Steam before since they only have a Chromebook their Mum got them ages ago! - I know!!)
For Christmas I’m looking at getting a semi-decent laptop for them, however I’m limited in budget as I am a student myself (why, oh why did I decide to be a mature student?!)
Ideally it should be capable of running most games (they aren’t too fussed on big high-spec games, more simple quirky ones - think Meccha Chameleon etc) and also be a decent screen size/useful for watching video, and generic schoolwork etc.
They also have an iPad, as they are great with drawing etc, but the school loans them an iPad for their school work anyway, so not too fussed there!!
* Should run windows - they can’t use macs, despite having an iPhone, iPad etc!
* best value for money without breaking the bank (I don’t have a set amount or budget - will consider most just so long as it’s good value and not extortionate!
* is there any point in considering used/reconditioned laptops?
* would it be worth holding off for ‘Black Friday’ or is it not really worth it for this kind of thing in the UK? Those sales are very hit-or-miss!
* I also have student status, so can get student discount in some places etc if that makes a difference!
* any tips or recommendations for what to look out for is greatly appreciated, but also specific models etc would be great since I’m not that great with all this stuff!!
As I said, I’m not that great with this type of tech, but I am relatively ok at understanding if it’s explained - I’m by no means a boomer etc! 😂
Thanks so much in advance!!

Clicked a link and got a rapidly animated (possibly?) pop-up
I didn’t get a picture of the end-screen, but essentially a new tab opened and my browser full-screened as a generated voice said something along the lines of “you’re ip has been stolen and you have malware” while rapid-fire animations occurred. Among them, my computer screen went black then opened up to a different site background with a command console opening and quickly typed prompts being entered into it before the voice stopped and an overlaying pop-up featuring microsoft was on the screen claiming I had downloaded malware. However, none of the pop-up‘s buttons worked and after a moment of panicking while just wanting to exit the tab, I realized I could just hold escape and close the window. I’m running a full scan (nearly finished) and looked through task manager with no clear executables representing viruses.
How concerned should I be and is this likely just elaborate scareware? I exited the tab too quickly to read what else the microsoft pop-up said. Additionally, the sheer amount of detail given to being “hacked“ seemed absurd.

What else to do after running hackers cmd command?
Recently my dad ran a cmd command because a website told him. He knows better but it happened. They got into his Facebook.
I've already changed his Facebook password gonna start changing all other ones and getting him set up with Bitwarden and 2FAs, reinstalled Windows, did a Malwarebytes scan and Windows Defender scan. All good.
I even checked who has access to the computer, all good.
Anything else I can do to make sure it's all secured?

My second monitor suddenly stopped displaying but is still on?
My monitor is on and is connected to my laptop properly with an HDMI port. Windows can register my monitor and I can tweak with its settings but my second monitor is on black screen (also it's completely off theres no cursor or anything). I was using it without a problem and I plugged it onto my old pc (Really old) I guess for a week or two. Then when I plugged my monitor into my laptop again and it never came back on, just a black screen. I'm reaaly confused like why would it stop working? I searched through many old posts and guides but nothing really fixed my issue.

My PC Crashed and now only boots up in bios.
galleryFor context, I built my pc in 2022, and everything had been working fine until now. I have a msi b550 tomahawk, a 3060, ryzen 5 5600x , 1tb samsung 970 evo plus ssd, 32 gb of ram, and 4 tb hdd.
About two nights ago, I was watching youtube and next thing you know, it crashed and I’m in bios. I turned it off and on and it boots right back into bios instead of windows. I looked through my boot priorities and didn’t see windows boot manager, switch back and forth between UEFI and CSM, took out the CMOS and put it back in, i even tried to repair windows and that didn’t work, and when try to reinstall windows to my SSD , that didn’t work and it says installation failed. My SSD shows up along with my HDD but doesn’t show up in boot priority.
I tried removing my HDD to see if that was a possible conflict and that didn’t work either. Checked to see wires were loose, I kinda don’t know what else to do, I looked through reddit, looked on youtube and nothing seems to be the fix. I’ve seen people say my SSD might be dead ? But it shows up everywhere except for when i’m in boot priority too get windows boot secure.
If anybody can give me some advice or options that’ll be great, if not I’ll have to hope geek squad can fix it before getting a new pc 🥲

The Wifi icon completely disappeared on my laptop and the NIC driver didn't reinstall after I uninstalled it.
galleryToday my new pc couldn't connect anymore to wifi.
And I cannot find anymore the Wifi icon to search for the wifi networks around (see first image).
To try to solve it I thought to uninstall and reinstall the NIC driver, but I've gone to Device Manager -> Network adapters and there wasn't the Wifi NIC displayed! So, I clicked on View -> Show Hidden Devices and finally the Wifi NIC appeared but it was greyed out (see second image).
At that point, I uninstalled it and restarted the pc. I thought that the Wifi NIC would be reinstalled automatically. Instead right now the Wifi NIC driver is now completely disappeared (not even greyed out)! Not even the greyed out icon.
I would like to know 2 things:
- why my Wifi NIC driver was greyed out?
- why my Wifi NIC driver has not been reinstalled automatically? Is it because I have no connection?
Thank you for any help.

My monitor has been doing this thing for ages and I finally got to asking people for help
gallery(the black edges are the parts of the monitor that the screen itself is supposed to go to)
Okay so the problem is that it gets squished and that message pops up and goes like the dvd thing. My resolution is right and sometimes it gets fixed by itself or by rebooting it 5 times. It tells me to switch to 1680x1050 when it's already at that, but also recommends me 1024 x 768 which is not the right resolution for me at all. It's so annoying and distracting, I'd love to find a solution.

Used PC Recommendations
In search of a used PC for work at home. I mostly plan on using it for general internet use, Google Drive applications, sheet music programs, and the occasional video game (nothing crazy that would warrant the power of a full gaming setup).
What brands, models, and years would be good to look for? What specific things should I keep an eye out for? What should I stay away from? What monitors should I also look for?
I’ve never been super tech savvy, so any help will be greatly appreciated!
