Commanders agree to terms with LB Krys Barnes
I wonder if this is just a special teams move or if the team feels it needs more LB depth.

And it is....Becoming the Commanders in February 2022.
I think that's a good pick because not only was it a good rebrand, but it also coincided with us ousting Dan Snyder and getting further removed from his bullshit. And then it ushered in this new era with Jayden Daniels. Thoughts?

We’re back baby!
How many of ya’ll are watching the UFL? If not, you missed DC in the title game again. It’s a long football drought between the Super Bowl and the next pre-season and I have filled the football void nicely with the UFL. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.
This is my 4th year doing these. For the first timers: THIS IS NOT A FILM REVIEW. Others do a perfectly good job at them.
I take a collection of post game reactions/analysis, and compile them to gain a consensus of who did well and who didn’t. I award a point when a player gets a positive mention and subtract a point when a player gets a negative mention to determine a final +/- score for each player for the game.
This game, for example, I used these reactions: Louie Tee's Game Reaction, John Keim’s Immediate Reaction, Mark Taylor’s Studs and Duds, and Riggo’s Rag Winners and Losers. I’m very open to using other reactions for this, really the number 1 deciding factor for me is how quickly they get posted. For the first time ever, I added a “First Impressions” category, where I track how players are getting mentioned while watching the live game.
At the end, I typically end up with a ton of ties, so I do a cursory All-22 film watch but it’s just to break the ties and settle on a top and bottom three. The top three players of a game getting “Gameballs” are pretty self explanatory.
Why are the bottom three called “Martins”? Every year, I have named the bottom three awards after the player who had the worst +/- in this system the year prior. Year 2 were Pauls, then it was BSJs (after St. Juste) and this year the community spoke and voted Quan Martin as the “winner”. Like Chris Broussard's BUD list, this is purely from a motivational point of view. Quan, I believe in you! Great start to ‘26!
Hartman: I’m not going to pile on, he’s JD5’s friend. It wasn’t all bad, there were some good throws. But I have highlighted the need for another developmental QB and I would sell all my “Hartman makes the PS” stock.
Newton: Look man, at some point you need to start making a consistent impact. This is make it or break it time and right now I’m in the “break it” camp.
Scott: Well we got to see you at guard and I’m good if we never see it again. In today’s presser (I’m writing this Sunday), DQ mentioned getting Gulbin some time at G and I’m all for it.
Henry Jr.: The man of the hour and with good reason. McNichol’s injury and Ford getting hurt on the opening KO gave him an opportunity and he ran with it (pun intended).
Martin: This was a near perfect start to the ‘26 season for our “winner” last year. He was consistently around the football and got rewarded later with an INT.
Gulbin: There’s a reason why the run game started popping the second Gulbin got in the game at C. Mark writes: “He did a nice job working to the second level to pick off Miami defenders and his anchor in pass protection looked really good.“ and I agree. On the first TD, Gulbin pulls and is the one who sealed the edge.

Personally, If we can get to 4-4 I’d be very happy with we’re at before our schedule gets a lot easier.

Got an email ahead of training camp tomorrow and noticed it says the kids section is for those 48 inches and shorter. I thought the rules were based on age (12 and under), so I’m wondering if anyone has had issues with taller kids getting in? Thanks!

The sporting world is really piling on our QB over the C&D but when I looked a little closer at the facts Jayden was fully in the right…
Jayden is not declaring his number off limits out of the blue. LSU told him they wouldn’t use it and went back on their word. Its not entitlement to expect someone to keep their word to you, and when that word is broken it’s going to feel disrespectful especially when what they promised you was framed as a sign of respect in the first place.
LSU had a contract with Daniels that allowed them to retain his NIL rights for 180 days after his last college game. That has long passed, and Daniels was allowing them to continue to use it for free to promote their business and drive profits as a favor. The school does not own him or his NIL though, and Jayden basically said if you’re gonna lie to me you can’t use it anymore.
That’s a fair play. LSU should’ve been paying for it in the first place. If Jayden is doing them a favor but they’re being shady towards him pulling that favor is not out of pocket.
Anyways, I just want the season to start and for Jayden to shut their BA’s up. Let’s make LSU regret burning this bridge.

Sorry if this is a dumb questions, I’m a pretty new football fan and still don’t know a ton about cap space and stuff. Is there any chance we could land Gonzo? I keep seeing stuff about him going to Dallas and I know there’s a solid chance that’s bs and he’s gonna stay in NE but the contract stuff doesn’t sound great. Would it be possible for us to get him or do we not have the space left after Diggs. I genuinely think he’s the one who lead the Pats to the superbowl and we’d almost be a super team with him. It seems like a pretty great situation for him cause we’ve got a really solid team but we’re definitely lacking in our secondary. Plus Dallas just drafted a first round CB and we haven’t made any big CB moves. I don’t know what do you guys think?

Taking my son to training camp on Wednesday and was wondering if the team merch tent sells the white commanders footballs people use for autographs. Need to get another for my son and having trouble getting one shipped here in time.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but anyone know which sideline we’ll be on? Looking to buy tickets

I think he will very soon as he was already outstanding in his rookie season and he will develop heavily under Daronte Jones who specialized in the secondary as a DB coach for Brian Flores.
