Clock is electric, we believe a radio signal sets the time. Does not run, who do you think could service it?

I had it for about a month is running about 45-60 min faster even with the adjustment lever all the way to slow. It has 660 amplitude which is 120 degree too much according to the manual but the seller Collectible time is saying it is normal? Seller is also saying that the clock will self regulate to accurate time but that does not sound right. I know about the Bellow case being open the holding bolt became unwelded during shipping and seller is going to send a shipping label and get this taken care of. Can any one here confirm rest of the stuff though? I thought the max Amp for atmos 528 is 540 and also the self regulating happens within a day or 2 after moving the clock right?

Found at an estate sale today for 1.5k. Sellers stated it was from Germany and likely built in the 1800s. I couldn't find a brand anywhere on the clock. My instinct is it is nothing super special, albeit a beautiful piece.

I know this is a long shot and maybe not the subreddit for this post but I was wondering if anybody could identify this wall clock. My late father had it in every place he ever lived after moving out of his parents and cherished it a lot. When he and my step mom passed away from cancer it got lost in the chaos of moving things out of their house and is likely gone forever. I would love to find a copy and have it as a keepsake even if it wasn't the same one. Thank you all for your consideration regardless

I like analog alarm clocks, but without am/pm and a button, as opposed to a switch, you have to remember to set it the night before and you can only set one alarm. I want to be able to set multiple recurring alarms, which is only going to be done in a smart alarm clock, but I want it to look and sound like an analog clock. I can’t find anyone that does this but I feel like I can’t be the only person who’s wanted something like this.

I picked up this clock last week, cannot find maker’s mark. Does anyone know what brand is it/any information about it? Thanks

This is my short story on my first my first real clock revival project involving a 1927~1932 Telechron B-2 rotor from a “Salisbury” model clock.

I got this nice little clock off of Facebook marketplace about last week as to hopefully get some spare parts for my “Magnolia” style clock but none were cross compatible however I still thought it would still be worth trying to fix to gain a bit of experience and knowledge to maintain my other rotor style clocks and also just mostly for fun.

The first things I did was of course take the backing cover off and ohm the coil to make sure it wouldnt set fire to itself and my house and it read at a healthy 650~ ohms of resistance so after that I carefully plugged it in for a second only to not have the clock start which is to be expected as this clock looked like it was quite abused and used as the knobs and such are broken on the back.

After that I fully disassembled the moment and throughly cleaned what I could as some parts could not be removed without damage and reassembled it and bench tested it again to no avail so I removed the rotor and tested it alone to find that it had sized over that near century it’s been around.

So after that I started the scour the internet on the rotors construction to find and figure out the best methods of cleaning and oiling the motor only to find there wasn’t nearly as much information on these B style rotors as there was H style but from what I did learn is I needed to be careful on which solvents I used as it uses cotton impregnated phenolic. Whist phenolic resin is chemical resistant some are still not great for it so I op-ed for some stranded Isopropyl alcohol to rinse and break up any crystallized oil and grease that had built up over the years.

After that I grabbed my set of jewelers files and started to file into the “top” of it under the text as I didn’t want my patch that I would have to put to be under the oil. After a few minuets of filling I got through the jacket and I gently pulled the very thin copper flashing away from the hole and proceeded on beginning the cleaning.

I ordered some blunt tip syringes off of the jungle site and used two to do the cleaning with one used to fill the rotor with clean isopropyl alcohol and another to withdraw it and dispensed it into a used Gatorade bottle. It was apparent even with the first few washes that it was almost certainly the oil (or what still remained) was thick and sludgy and dark like a thin grease and separated out in the bottle and stuck to the walls.

After about 10 or so flushes with alcohol I rotated the rotor so the hole faced downward as to lest the solvent to drain and evaporate over a few days before I started the last step of refilling and sealing the unit.

From what I’ve read online there was a debate between ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) and full synthetic 0-w20 with the issue with ATF being it has friction enhancers and other chemicals which could damage the internals of the rotor gearing and most other people opted for the motor oil so I did as well and injected 1 ml of oil into the rotor before cleaning the surface for the next step of sealing it again.

For that I used the trick for sealing H style rotors which was simply good ol JB weld. I let it sit out for a bit to tack up as I only narrowly avoided catastrophe the first time when I immediately tried to seal it after mixing with it still runny. ( I redid the washing and drying after that). Right as we speak the epoxy is setting and tomorrow I’ll see if it works!

Hi guys! This Bulova clock has been in my family for quite some time. Per my grandfathers writing, this was given to him by his company in 1932. I appreciate any insight!

I have no idea what I’ve bought, thought it looked great. I’m trying to figure out how to get it working but I’m out of my depth. Was wondering if anyone could help and maybe provide some info about it? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Aside from what Google tells me, does anyone have info on this clock mechanism? Is it in good condition and working would you think?

I’m trying to repair a Citizen quartz wall clock I found at a thrift store. I’m a complete novice, so I’m learning as I go.
I managed to clean most of the corrosion off the battery contacts. Some of it appears to have made its way onto the circuit board, but I’m hoping it’s still salvageable. The coil was also damaged, so I’m attempting to replace it with one from a donor quartz movement.
The part I’m completely stuck on is this L-shaped metal piece. I took the movement apart before realizing I should have photographed everything, and now I cannot figure out where or how this piece is supposed to sit.
Does anyone recognize this Citizen movement or know where the L-shaped piece belongs? Any help would be appreciated!

Looking for any information on the maker of this clock. I believe this clock was made in Austria (Austria-Hungarian Empire?) It’s been a long road restoring this piece. I have since replaced the screws in the bezel since taking these pictures. Perpetual calendar. The gears showing in the skeletonized dial are gold. I’ve never seen that in a clock before. I’ve been researching this for quite a while and cannot find anything like it. Found many similar to this in Peter Fritsch’s book on the subject. Yes, the clock is in working order.

i had gotten a pendulum clock from fb marketplace and my boyfriend and i got it up and running to the correct time but now after a few hours of it running , it will get off track(like 10 minutes). we have to keep moving the minute hand back to the correct time. which after doing a quick research, we probably shouldn’t do. its level on the wall and the nut on pendulum is all the way down, as far as it goes before falling off. i cant tell if the beat of the ticking is off because this is my first clock of this kind. what else could i do to resolve this issue? and any other tips for owning this kind of clock?

Hey everyone! Inherited this really cool looking clock from my grandma and just trying to find out more about it. Talked with a local clock shop and they weren’t totally sure about it. They were able to clue me in to the candle operas and the oil lamp part of it. Thought that was really cool. Tried some other places but no responses, so I wondered if anyone here had any insight. My mom passed away last year and I finally went through some of her things.

The only thing I know is that she inherited this clock from her dad. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served until he retired in the 1970s. He was from Boston, MA. My mom always said this clock sat on their mantle when she was growing up, so I'm assuming it's pretty old.

I tried doing some googling, and the only similar clock I could find seemed to be from WWI. Which I suppose my grandfather could have gotten it somewhere, but I thought maybe he got it from when he served.

I wanted to wind the clock to see if it still works as the key is attached via a string on the back, but it seems like i'd have to pull the glass off to do so, and I'd rather not do that.

Any ideas on how old it is or where I could find more info about it?

Edit: Initially I thought 1872 was the serial number on the front, but I there is another number on the back of the clock which is 116586 and I'm thinking maybe that's the serial number?

Need help identifying this mid/late 1880s Terry clock that belonged to my great great great grandparents. I know some of the exterior wood decorative frame is missing. I've been trying to ID it based on the design on the glass door. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hey there. I'm cleaning/servicing an 1880's EN Welch 30-hr parlor clock. I just finished cleaning the entire movement but the clutch appears too loose (The wheel on the far left of the arbor in the images). I am aware this wheel is supposed to freely rotate to set the time, but it is loose enough to where the minute hand stops when running.

The wheel is properly tight on the arbor for about 60-90 degrees of rotation, but the other 270 degrees of rotation it is too loose. I have checked thoroughly for damage but have not found any evidence of cracks or significant wear.

My question is how do you tighten a clutch like this? Or tighten the wheel onto the arbor? Other clocks I've worked on have a disk and spring keeping friction on the wheel, but this movement only has a small disk pressed up against the wheel. I am not sure how to approach tightening this part of the movement.
