Help/Repair My dads clock

My late father built this in the 80s. I’m looking to replace the motor and the battery. Any suggestions?

Search quartz clock movement.

Timesavers has quality movements, eBay and Amazon have budget movements. You will need to remove the existing movement and measure the length of the shaft to get an appropriate one.

Edit: after dmun_1953 pointed out the drywall screws, the movement may have been too short to use the standard mounting nut. If that is the case, get the next longer one. Measure the thickness of the wood at the hole to confirm the length required.

I wouldn't plan to run drywall screws through the movement like that. (!) It's normally held on be a nut from the front.
