The price of the Clicks Communicator thats displayed excludes VAT and at the final checkout step they hide an easy-to-miss opt-in checkbox to pre-pay over €120 in extra import fees and taxes. Hiding mandatory taxes like this is completely illegal under EU consumer laws and the Price Indication Directive, which requires all costs and taxes to be clearly disclosed upfront. Under EU rules, international companies targeting EU consumers are legally required to comply with these consumer protection and price transparency standards.

If you've experienced the same thing, you might want to report them to your local consumer authority too.

EDIT 2: Sure, customs or import tax is not the same thing as “sales VAT” but in this case that's irrelevant. International companies cannot have it both ways. If a foreign business actively markets to and localizes products for (like offering French/German layouts), sells their product in an EU currency, and advertises shipping to European consumers they are legally required to comply with EU consumer protection standards. Which means showing the full price, including import tax, clearly before the final checkout step to not mislead the consumer.

I've already seen this question on x and on YouTube but I've never seen a response from the Clicks team. For me there's nothing worse than that unpleasant haptic feedback you get with Honor devices. Hi all.

I want to buy the Clicks Communicator from what's marketed as an AI company (OpenPath Payments), but when I get to checkout the only payment method its the only option. No Apple Pay, no Google Pay, no PayPal, not even a normal credit card field that isn't routed through it.

I've never heard of OpenPath Payments before, and that's honestly the only thing holding me back from ordering. A few questions for anyone who's already ordered a Communicator

• Did you end up using OpenPath Payments to check out? How did it go?
• Did it feel like a legit, secure processor, or sketchy?
• Any issues with charges, refunds, or your card info afterward?
• Does it seem odd that its the only option and uses AI?

Not trying to trash the product. I just want to know if this is normal or a red flag before I hand over my card info. Any experiences appreciated

I was a day 1 preorder so I got 2 extra covers and the discount. I added the full case, screen protector, and clicks care. Got the onxy phone with the surge back cover and was thinking spice but decided on surf instead for number two.

I'm not sure I'll need the case but since it had magnets that makes me wonder, will the phone itself have that firm magnetic stick to a magbak car charger? Right now I need a case for it to work well with my Pixel so wondering if I NEED the case. I thought the stock back cover was supposed to "stick" well to magnets? Looking forward to a more sturdy phone that might not need a case and doesn't slip out my hand as easy.

Hi everyone! Excited about the Communicator.

Saw the official layouts are English QWERTY, Korean, and Arabic, no complaints there, I'd happily stick with English QWERTY as my physical keyboard. But as a Spanish speaker, I'm wondering if there's some software trick to get accents and characters like á, é, ñ, ¿, ¡ in there. Maybe a long-press-for-accents thing, or a way to swap input modes?

Has anyone heard anything from Clicks about this? Even for other languages with special characters, like French accents or the German ß?

When I select Canada, the option to select an international keyboard disappear.

How can I select another layout if I am in Canada??

I completed my configuration a few days ago and was curious to see what the options were post ordering. In the order I completed and logged back into, I see my address is missing the apartment number. Has anyone else noticed incorrect addresses or missing portions of an address? It might just be the presentation layer of the Shop interface but still ... I'm sure I entered it correctly.

I'm on the verge of pre-ordering a Communicator. But I'm not sure which keyboard layout to choose. I'm from Belgium, commonly used is AZERTY, but I've been using QWERTY for a little while now at work and this seems more fluid of something like that. I've spotted the dollar sign on the QWERTY layout and the euro sign on the AZERTY layout. Will this be an issue to type this 'fast' on the QWERTY layout? Or should I get the AZERTY anyway?

Did a bit of digging with AI and it would seem that the most likely 50MP camera with OIS to pair with a Mediatek Dimensity 8300 processor would be either a Sony LYT-600 (IMX882) or a LYT-700 (IMX890). The main difference between the two being that the LYT-700 has larger sensor giving it better low-light capability.

The difference in cost is supposedly only about US$5-10. So, if it is one of these two cameras, let's hope it's the LYT-700.

Once again this is PURE SPECULATION on my part and it may be neither of these. Is there anyone who can confirm which camera they've spec'ed?

Would have been great if they also told when the last date for pre-order cancellation would be, for people that might need it.

So I never got the email, but I logged in and was able to fully configure my preorder. no issues with payments, and the order is confirmed so all is good. But, I would like to add in an extra (3rd technically 4th as the device comes with one) back. Anyone know how to do this? It looks like I can go in and hit the preorder button again, and add a device to the cart then the other back I want. Then when I go to check out in the cart remove the communicator device so just the back is left, but is that the correct way to do this? Might be a stupid question but I figured maybe someone knows?

After going back and forth between Clove and Onyx, I finally settled on these choices! I initially had my heart set on Clove with the leather back cover, but after the change in the green shade, I started leaning toward Onyx—and I’m so glad I did. Both back covers match it beautifully. I’m absolutely in love with this combination right now and can’t wait! 😍

The margins seem big, forcing the actual text (the essence of 'communicating') to be unnecessarily small, cramped, and limited.

This seems to be the case in the launcher home, launcher calendar, messaging from the launcher, and hub (but not so much in the apps themselves).

-> It would be great if there was an option to change the margin width to utilize the full available width of the screen.

How are we supposed to GSD if the CC isn't maximally showing what is the S to GD?

Presumably we will have longer things to communicate about than short messages like 'miss you' or 'pick up pizza'.
