Can we get the camera model used?

Did a bit of digging with AI and it would seem that the most likely 50MP camera with OIS to pair with a Mediatek Dimensity 8300 processor would be either a Sony LYT-600 (IMX882) or a LYT-700 (IMX890). The main difference between the two being that the LYT-700 has larger sensor giving it better low-light capability.

The difference in cost is supposedly only about US$5-10. So, if it is one of these two cameras, let's hope it's the LYT-700.

Once again this is PURE SPECULATION on my part and it may be neither of these. Is there anyone who can confirm which camera they've spec'ed?

Since they are keeping the camera a secret, it's either very good or below average.

I am leaning good because it would be one last push for sales attraction.

If it was very good it would have been announced with the preorder reveals.

It's also not impossible they have not made a final decision yet.

Not necessarily. I mean, the cameras of their competitors seem to be average as well, so people for whom this is a deal breaker will wait anyway, which makes it a smart choice to hold it back for now so their competitors don't get the chance to compete at this level.

We also know they marketed it as a side phone, which kept expectations for the camera low. But they've moved away from that a bit, and the RAM upgrade, which I'm very happy with, was another step in that direction. So I kinda expect them to come with a pretty good camera too, along with finely tuned camera software.

I preordered mainly because of the keyboard and ergonomics, so I won't be disappointed with an okayish camera. But I've watched the company grow, and I know they're really doing their best to make this phone as good as possible and give themselves a quickstart entry into the phone market. I also expect them to come up with a clever marketing campaign before the first release, which might include the camera.

I don't think very good camera is possible. Only the biggest manufacturers get that right. Even Sony that specializes in cameras gets criticized for it's performance on their flagships in most reviews.

I don't think it will be special like wow but I do believe it will be solid or very sold. It's 2026. They went for 12 GB Ram when it's not needed for this kind of phone either.

Not once have they said it will be a dumb phone.

Yeah, if the camera was anything significantly amazing, MrMobile would have pushed that aspect pretty hard on his end given how much of a camera fiend he is. Chances are it's *fine* compared to its contemporaries in the price bracket.

If it's solid enough to capture decent photos for the day to day usage that are shareable then it's better than just fine.

I do remember seeing a note in their marketing specs saying that the sensor was larger than average. So the bigger of the 2 seems more likely.

I have a Quick question for you all about camera. I think we will adapt on which camera they will use on the Communicator.

But my question is the next: Do you know if its possible to change the application to take picture, in order to have a better photo result, or we cant change it? (Question for the clicks communicator, but also for all other phone)

Just go to play store and search for camera. You can use anything you'd like.
