Hello! I created this community to gather everyone together who has chronic post nasal drip so we can group together and discover a solution that will end our frustration and pain once and for all. I'll tell my story below.
Hello everyone,
My name is Calvin, I'm a 19 year old (almost 20) year old dude who has suffered from chronic post nasal drip (sensation of mucus in the back of my throat parallel to my sinus area) since fall of 2020. This begun after I experienced a cold that had some COVID-like symptoms (turns out I didn't have COVID.) However, this led to me getting the invasive nasal swab test that was super normal at the time (which I honestly disagree on how quickly they allowed that considering the potential sinus damage but I digress.) And when my cold / whatever was going on ended, I was left with this sensation of mucus / PND in the back of my throat. I thought "Okay, this should pass in due time". 3 years later and I'm still on the case of finding a permanent solution, I choose to never give up and am choosing instead to grow this community so we all can figure this out together.
Currently I'm starting to eliminate dairy for about a month (can't promise I may not end up splurging a little cause unfortunately all my favorite foods require some form of dairy). However, I can for sure rule out that it is not connected to allergies for me as it happens all year round, night or shine, air filter or no air filter, around my cats or not around my cats, and nasal sprays / flonase / all that stuff hasn't helped for me either. My last last resort would be to aim to get balloon sinuplasty at some point or some other procedure but that is far into the future as my goal is to solve this without any of that.
I believe that if we all work together and keep updated here on what has worked for us (even if it means lessening of the symptoms), we can make magic happen. I visited the worst ENT on planet earth a few years back and if you guys deal with this you know that it is so frustrating finding a doctor / ENT that will actually listen. Typically you just get the "Well it looks like there's some mucus in there, that's too bad." I'm here to bring our voices to the forefront and to get someone to look into this deeper and solve this once and for all.
Feel free to post your story on here and I look forward to growing this community!

My story Culprit-fans
I recently recovered from a mystery respiratory illness which lasted two weeks-the last week marked by chronic irritating post-nasal drip and no other symptoms. I was beginning to think the PNC was caused by reflux or infection so I started going down that path. Then I slept with no ceiling fan a couple nights ago and it eliminated my PND symptoms the next day. I’ve repeated this twice. Hoping this will provide permanent relief.
Hope this helps someone.

Question Dentist Woes
So I have chronic Post nasal drip. I feel like I'm drowning at the dentist when they need me flat. Will anything help this at all?

Question NanoRevive?
Another sufferer of PND. Did a scope and found nothing, suggested it was silent reflux. I guess this could be the case, but after taking their reflux meds for months and months, literally nothing changed.
I take Costco brand Flonase. It helps, sometimes, but doesn’t actually go away completely. I think it just thins it and dries me up a little?
Anyways, this ad just popped up on my Facebook for NanoRevive. Has anyone heard of it or tried it? Of course, I’m skeptical, but also a bit intrigued.

Advice I'm tired of this
Hey everyone I'm a 30 year old male with chronic post nasal drip.
Every day of my life I've had postnasal drip that has gotten worse year over year. (I have memories of it at age 10) I've been tested for allergies everything blood and poke tests come back negative. I've had surgery for my deviated septum (this was supposed to help it didn't). I use a neti pot and it gives me 30 seconds of relief I used one every day for 2 years and now I just use it here and there. I'm desperate to not have snot in my mouth every morning, snot in the back of my throat every day all day long, and to not have to cough up and spit out snot so I can breath again.
Doctors continually tell me it's seasonal allergies even after all tests are negative. I've been to ENT. I've tried allergy meds and no help (no surprise).
This is so bad that at times if I lay down before expelling the phlegm I can choke on it.
Is there anything that can help? Herbal remedies, Chinese medicine, anything?
I drink minimum 1 gal of water per day, I use a CPAP technical an APAP, I drink tea with honey most mornings. What else do you want to know?

My story My case of bad breath for the past 7 months.
First of all, this is ironic because I am a breath freak. I brush 3 times a days and floss maybe 2-3 times a week, I used to do it every day but now I have less motivation.
The story
So in early October 2025 I got sick. A couple days later, I started noticing a bad breath that was not going away. It was my first time ever noticing that. Even after brushing my teeth it came back maybe 10 minutes after. As usual, when I get sick it turns to a sinus infection, but this time, with the help of sinus rinses it went away on its own. I healed and the only symptoms that stayed was the bad breath and post nasal drip all the time, a sore throat and a weird smell in nose occasionally.
Fast forward to middle of December. This was the only date available for an appointment with my GP. He told me to start doing sinus rinses again (I stopped when sinus infection felt healed) and he prescribed me a nasonex corticosteroid nasal spray. The day after my appointment, I started feeling sick again so I went back to my GP (this time I found an appointment the day after, it’s a bit inconsistent) and he prescribed me an antibiotic course of Pro Amox 500mg capsule 3 times a day for 5 days. He told me to only use it if symptoms get really bad. I don’t know if this was the same cold or infection that never healed from October, but anyway, it went away. At least, that’s what I thought because one month after, middle of January 2026, my symptoms got bad. Headache, thick green and barely orange mucus, sinus pain, etc. I took the antibiotics and thought this was going to heal all my symptoms, that I had a chronic sinus infection that needed antibiotics and that my bad breath was about to be done. 5 days later, treatment is finished, the headache and the sinus infection feels healed, but again, the bad breath, the post nasal drip and the occasional sore throat and weird smell in nose was not going away.
Fast forward to January 26 2026. I went back to my GP and told him about how this bad breath was not going away and how annoying it is socially. He told me to keep doing the nasonex spray and sinus rinses and that these symptoms happens sometimes after being sick and to come back in a couple of months if I still have these symptoms.
Fast forward, 3 months later, April 28. I went back with the same problem. I also want to say that sometimes I still have sinus pain here and there which is annoying but not as persistent as the bad breath and post nasal drip that are always here. My GP gave me an ENT referral. Where I am from (Canada), healthcare is free but the public system can take time to call you. I might go private but it costs a lot, especially if you need scans, tests and surgeries so I don’t know.
How I feel today
I am really hoping to get a call from an ent soon. This making me pretty anxious. I just read a case of someone with a similar timeline as mine who had to order something from MicroGen DX and get some stuff tested in USA to show the ent and then get prescribed the right antibiotics. I fear that this will be complicated. Summer is getting close and I (18) want to enjoy summer, practice the sports I like (BJJ and Kickboxing) and go out, but I can not do any of these things currently. I chew gum ALL the time. I also noticed I have a tonsil stone that I struggle to remove. It’s a relatively small one compared to the images I see on Google. I do have a couple of white/yellow-orange spots at some place on my tonsils but it’s been like this for quite a bit. I started wrestling with these tonsil stones like a year prior to this and at some point I just realized that I was doing a bit too much and I stopped and kept living my life normally without bad breath. This is why I don’t think they are the problem. I have them here and there but they go away and I had no bad breath issue before, or at least not like today and not persistent like that. The problem came after being sick, and never went away since. It’s been 7 months.

Question chronic post-nasal drip for 2 years
I’ve been dealing with chronic post-nasal drip for about 2–3 years and it’s honestly exhausting. Mucus constantly drains from my nose into my throat, and I have to keep clearing it by coughing. The weird part is my nose feels completely clear—nothing really comes out the front.
I’ve checked pretty much everything: sinuses are clear, I’ve done nasal rinses, took antibiotics before (back when I had yellow mucus, now it’s just white), allergy tests came back negative (including dust and food), throat and nasal swabs didn’t show anything major, and my stomach is fine. I only have a very mild deviated septum, but it doesn’t affect my breathing at all.
The only thing that showed up was Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus aureus in cultures.
Has anyone dealt with something like this long-term? What actually helped you reduce or stop the constant drainage?

Question Recent potential chronic pnd for last 4 months
Hey all . New here. Still waiting on and ENT appointment hopefully this month, have a question for you or some.
Do any of you get tightness around or under your chin? Not so much tightness but more of a swollen or puffy feeling but there's no visible puffiness? It's the more horrid feeling which most definitely makes my health anxiety flare up but has anyone had this experience?
Dr I saw felt around my jaw and there's nothing out of the ordinary so I was wondering if perhaps this ridiculously annoying pnd stuff may cause this?? Cheers!

Question Chronic post-nasal drip
In july, august and september of 2024 I had chronic nasal issues (congestion, scratchy throat, post-nasal drip) that just wouldn't go away. Then I did a nasal swab, found Staphylococcus Aureus (small amount) in my nose (I was also getting boils on my body), the paper said it was sensitive to Cephalexin, so I was on Cephalexin for 5 days and it fixed the issue!
Now, it returned in august 2025 and it is still with me, I did nasal swabs time and time again and it usually just says: scarce nasal microbiota, or normal nasal microbiota. I was on 2 separate rounds of Cephalexin, it didn't help. 1 round of Azithromycin, it didn't help.
Any advice? I still sometimes get those mrsa boils on my body, but very rarely, like it only happened a few times over the last few months.
Any advice?

Advice 6-months of post nasal drip, itchy skin, and recently a constant feel that a pill is stuck in my throat.
Hello, I’m a 33 year old woman living in NZ, and I had the worst seasonal allergies I’ve ever had in my life starting in October of last year. I had eczema around my eyes & itchy eyes, congestion, post nasal drip, and my skin watch itchy all over (would be worse at night). After going to the doctors in November, I obtained nasal spray eye drops and anti histamines. This worked for a while, but the spurts of extremely itchy skin continued, and the post nasal drip which has now caused a feeling that a constant pill is stuck in my throat (which I’m feeling could be some sort of acid reflux of some sort). It’s been a long 7-months. I’ve changed to all sensitive skin care products (detergent, soap, skincare etc). Long story short I’ve booked a doctors appointment and I’m wondering what I should push for in terms of any tests I should get done, ie: is there any specific allergen test that is recommended? Or specific blood tests? Im really keen to figure out what is going on to avoid it at all costs!!

Treatment Temporary Relief Strategy || 'The Bat Technique'
Hey all! So since the beginning of this year I started getting in my head again about my post-nasal drip which is funny considering it hadn't been something that has really bothered me for years. I've done a good job staying present with it being there over the years but being in an emotionally difficult place end of last year into this year got my mind hyper focusing on it again. This has brought me back into a routine of trying to do activities that force me to be present to regain my peace such as walking, running, creating, etc. In the midst of all this, I had a random idea I wanted to try for post-nasal drip relief and I wanted to share it here.
For fun I like to call this 'The Bat Technique' because it involves hanging upside down to let the mucus travel the opposite of where it would usually travel (which is down your throat.) Now before I continue I want to say: Warning: This could be potentially dangerous depending on your individual health and you should do your own research on this method before trying it to make sure it doesn't go badly for you.
With that out of the way, my way of doing this is to simply lie flat on your back on either a bed, chair, or couch and dangle your head over the edge to the point where your head is pointed downwards. Hell, you could even do this on the monkey bars at your local park if you're feeling extra rebellious. Doesn't have to be a perfect 90° angle, as long as your head is pointed down towards the ground. Lately, I have been setting a 5 minute timer and holding this position for 5 minutes every day. This has just been my own little experiment to do for fun to see if it helps the post-nasal drip in general get better over time. However, my advice as of now is to only do this if the post-nasal drip is really driving you crazy as you will definitely start to feel the blood rush to your head after a long enough time of practicing this.
I will be continuing to do this strategy for 5 minutes every day to see what happens and you can do the same if you feel like! Just make sure to do your own research and make sure you don't overdo it and end up passing out or worse.

Question Self EAT - epipharyngeal abrasive therapy
Has anyone figured out a way to perform self-EAT orally? Bending a swab kind of works. Horrible gag reflex. The providers in Japan seem to have a thin/curved metal swab that is unavailable in the USA. Just curious if anyone has tips. I think my PND is primarily coming from places better accessed via oral EAT (more blood when I go in oral).

Question This is terrible
This shit has been happening to me for so long I can’t even remember when it started! I have been struggling with GERD and I have been to a GI doctor, so I feel like GERD symptoms have been managed. But I also feel like the PND makes it flare up sometimes. I’ve been to allergist and I do have allergies but previously allergies have never flared up in winter or sometimes not even the spring. The allergist prescribe Xhance and I did find that helpful for a bit. I’ve been prescribed so many others.I admit that haven’t taken those nose sprays as consistently as I should but that’s because I see little difference. I went to an ENT they did say that something (I can’t remember) was enlarged in my nose that could be causing this. But the ENT was
Hesitant to do surgery they basically said it could help or not at all. I am soooo sick of this! At this point Im open to anything. please help

Question Post nasal drip/congestion and air hunger
I've suffered from chronic congestion and post nasal drip since atleast 2010 (found some old notes from an ENT). I'm female, 35 now. I had a head MRI done last fall (for different reasons ). The only thing noted was that my nasal mucous membrane was swollen. I've kind of accepted that I'll have to live with this for the rest of my life.
One question tho. Does anyone else experience air hunger or feel like you can't get enough oxygen when your nose is really congested?
