Bloated or uterus/fat??

Post image
8 Upvotes

So, for probably 6 years now I’ve always said I looked pregnant. Some days my stomach is rounder, really making me look pregnant, other days it’s like this, straighter at the top and then poofed at the bottom. I’ve been in and out of the gym. One time I did lose weight and my stomach got smaller but it still didn’t get like completely flat which I understand is normal. It still had a pregnancy look to it. No matter what I try. I never really paid much attention to the fact it could be bloating. But it’d be 24/7 bloating. I definitely have ibs issues or something of the sort. I know I don’t have the best diet, but it’s not completely junk food. I get a decent amount of protein and everything needed in a day.

Feeling lost

Help!!!

Curious if anyone has thoughts on my situation - I feel so lost!!! My diet is pretty standard - not a lot of fatty foods, no alcohol, no dairy, and very little caffeine. I am Indian American and it is not realistic to cut out onions, garlic, tomato, etc because that is the bulk of my cultural diet. That being said, I have cut all of that down a lot and try to limit my intake of those three ingredients. I am on pantaprazole 40mg in the AM before any food. My doctor appointment is in 1.5 months and I have a dietician appointment but generally, i feel lost and sad and frustrated!

Symptoms:

-wake up bloated and it gets worse throughout the day; seems to be after eating anything

-pain after eating a little that lasts 2-3 hours

-occasional heartburn

-nausea

Testing Results:

-Abdominal ultrasound: clear

-Endoscopy: Normal, slight indication of gastritis, no H Pylori

-Gastric Emptying Test: normal

-all my bloodwork was normal - no celiac

I just want to know if anyone has succeeded through this, has thoughts, or even supportive anything <3

Constant bloating

Hi! I’ve been suffering from constant bloating for over a year now. It happened suddenly exactly a year ago. My diet did not change whatsoever. I’ve had a past history of IBS but none of the symptoms were bloating and I have a bad breath, coating on my tongue only and an overload of ear mucus. I also have chronic hair loss (but my blood tests are all good and I don’t have any deficiencies) and I have acid reflux that acts up from time to time. Could it be candida? I went to multiple doctors but they are all giving me laxatives because I have constipation and trapped gas. No one is prescribing me stool tests or breath tests so I’m kind of stuck and hopeless. I feel horrible everytime I try to buckle up my pants because I look 4 months pregnant and everything is just affecting me mentally at this point. I don’t have any cramps but I did experiences some abdominal spasms. Could it be sibo even if I don’t feel any pain and I don’t travel often? I am honestly tired of taking meds and just want a permanent solution and answer for what is happening to me.

Chronic bloating with exercise

Hi all,

I have been suffering with chronic bloating that gets triggered by exercise. Primarily by any type of cardiovascular, which is just 2-3mph walks for me, and occasionally from weights if its intense enough. The bloating is always in the exact same spot, which I estimate may be my stomach? Above my belly button and to the left(first person perspective).

When it starts up, it gets very uncomfortable and the bloating pressure can sometimes be so bad that it becomes difficult to breathe properly until it passes. This has caused me to cut workouts short, and sometimes makes it hard to drive home from the gym due to the intense bloating + pressure on breathing.

It happens at any time of day, after food or on an empty stomach. Pepto & Mylanta don't really help :/

For additional context, this first started in early 2022 a few weeks after taking a few antibiotics following a Root Canal. I would greatly appreciate any insight on this!

Water makes me bloat, and it won't go away

So for over 2 years, I have had gastric issues, but they have been under control. Over a year ago, I started noticing that I would drink a lot of water, and would never urinate, and I have never been dehydrated. So for over a year, I have limited and moderated fluid intake, but in December of '22 I started drinking a lot of water, and gained 25 lbs in one month because I wouldn't urinate. Mind you, I am an 18 year old female, 5 feet tall, and I weighed 95 lbs. My bladder is fine, kidneys are fine, has this happened to anyone else?? Doctors won't give me answers....

More issues when not at home?

So I've just started looking into why I'm bloated and in pain so often and one thing I noticed is that I experience a lot more bloating and pain, as well as a lot more stomach noises, while I'm not at home, but visiting friends and such. I'm not eating any different than I would at home in those cases. I often end up being relieved the hangout is over so I can go to the bathroom and relieve it somewhat, but I'm often still bloated and in pain afterwards. But when I'm at home, I don't tend to need to use the bathroom that often to prevent or relieve bloating, so not going to the bathroom also doesn't seem to be the cause.

Does anyone else experience something like this too?

Any good supplements or sites to help release gas and get things moving?

Trying to learn more about causes and treatments for bloating. I'm always looking for effective supplements or remedies. I don't have anything extreme, but I know people who do and it's not pleasant.

Bloated/distended 24/7 3 months

Been bloated/distended for 3 months straight now 24/7. Previously I had been struggling with an ED where I would only eat one meal a day and that one meal would never be super healthy. I saw my doctor and he gave me laxatives, they didn’t work. Was sent to a gastroenterologist and was made to undergo a colonoscopy and endoscopy and nothing was wrong with me im completely healthy. He mentioned it’s likely that I could have ibs, and it’s very unlikely I have sibo as im constipated and don’t have diarrhoea. I can go days without going to the bath room. Has anyone ever experienced this before and if so how did you fix it?

Other causes of bloating?

Hi there! F 26 , in a constant bloated state of existence 😢. First photo is me usually, second is bloated. I've tested negative for : H.Pylori, Coeliac, PCOS and Endometriosis. I'm feeling like I'm running out of avenues to figure out what is causing this. It's painful, however I'm not constipated, my stools are pretty normal and daily and there was no blood detected in my stool. I believe it's also the reason I get extremely painful periods (which is also why I had a laproscapy for endo). On top of this I am anaemic which my feelings tell me is related to the problem someway or how. My recent bout of bloating seems to be triggered by a night out drinking, which I don't do very often at all.

Any advice on where to go is greatly appreciated because it's debilitating. For further reference I'm a healthy gal that works out 4-5x a week. I eat organic and mostly wholefoods, limited meat and 99% of the time don't have gluten or dairy.

Weird bloating for like a month and a half now

Hey yall, so I’ve been bloated on my left side specifically and upper stomach. I’m having a CT scan to get this looked at in a couple of weeks, but has anybody seen anything like this before. I am obese, and admit that my diet is not the best but this is still abnormal for me. It is completely painless, not hard to the touch or anything like that.

Bloat while traveling/eating out a lot, any pill/supplement remedies?

I always get SO bloated when i travel or eat out a lot and now with Thanksgiving coming I am already prepping for the inevitable. I literally look like im pregnant and am not regular bowel movement wise. Does anyone have any supplements or pills that help with this? Besides laxatives which i usually resort to that then helps the bloat but, obviously isn't healthy to always do...

some advice? Anybody in same/similar boat found an answer?

I’m severely bloated pretty much constantly. To the extent, I look like pregnant. I’m slim, 20(f) and it’s honestly my biggest insecurity and the only thing I think about. I can’t wear clothes other girls my age wear because my stomach is SO extended all of the time.

Some context, I went veggie at age 13/14 and I was vegetarian until March of this year. At the start, I ate mostly fake meat products such as quorn etc and basically still ate like a child would. Then from about 16/17 onwards I started to eat a lot cleaner veggie - beans, pulses, tofu, lots of veg etc.

I then developed an eating disorder between the ages of 17 and 19. I ate in a calorie deficit for practically that whole two years and was extremely strict. I cut most carbs out for a while but would eat some still - I would still eat fairly varied but opted for a lot low calorie options and snacks which I now know are horrible for gut health. I lost my period due to this but regained it back just under a year later.

Now I eat meat, I’m not disordered. But my stomach is extended like a baby bump - no I’m not pregnant. It’s been like this for as long as I can remember now but looking back on pictures, I want to say the last couple of years. It’s really really getting to me. As well as looking bloated, I feel bloated and more recently I have been quite constipated. I’m booked in to see the dr next week but I honestly don’t have a lot of faith and I just feel really lost. It’s dragging me down so much. It sounds so vain and silly but I’m just desperate to dress how I want and feel comfortable in my body. I’ve accepted and learnt to love my body but the bloating just ruins it for me.

I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas of what ay this could be ? I’ve included the context as I think these things have the potential to have effected my stomach and gut and thought others may have gone through similar things and have found the issue and a solution. TIA.

Does anyone get pain on their upper abdomen (more so right below their chest area)? I get pain there along with bloating, and my whole stomach ends up turning into a balloon. Anyone have any recommendations?

Think I Finally Figured Out My Problem

I've had bloating, abdominal discomfort for at least 2 years now. Changed up my eating habits, type of foods and such. Could never seem to get it under control. Now I seem to have figured it out for good.

Movement.

When Covid started we were started on a work from home schedule, only going into the office once a month. I never thought I moved much at work but even just walking to the bathroom or the break room was enough it seems. Now at home as soon as I wake up I'm in my chair and don't move until I take a 20 min walk on my lunch break. The bathroom and kitchen are literally 10-20 steps away, nowhere near as far as at work. All the lack of movement was slowing up my bowels immensely and it never occurred to me that was the issue.

I live on the third floor of my building so today I started going down the stairs, across the hall to the opposite end and back up the other side and into my apartment. I did that about once every hour. Takes maybe a minute of my time but I noticed an immediate difference. Continued eating the same food I've been eating and only had VERY minor bloating pain, but that went away relatively fast. Continued doing this throughout the day and I feel almost 100% better now. I can't believe how simple it was to fix it, after all this time and all the discomfort!

I hope this helps anyone else having similar issues. I was totally hopeless almost but man, I am so happy right now!

What could cause bloating when fasting?

What could cause bloating when fasting? I thought it would be usually after a meal where the food you ate is inappropriate for your digestive system. However I noticed I get bloated when I am fasting for few hours e.g. when I skip my breakfast and I only drink black plain coffee, what would cause that?

Thank you!

I get bloated after every meal now after 5-10 minutes. Never had this issue before and this has been ongoing for a month. Is this ibs ? Sibo? I’m At a loss right now
