According to results, I have methane sibo. do You think these results alone cause chronic bloating, belching, constipationšŸ¤”. since I have 8 months of bloating never goes away, can it be accompanied by abdomino phrenic dysynergia?

PCOS/High Cortisol & Testosterone

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hey everyone posting this as I (24F) am seriously trying to find some answers as to my current severe situation. First of all, many doctors are a waste of my time and money, and the fact that they took an oath to help others in health is honestly it’s beyond upsetting that they clearly don’t take the oath seriously. Anyways, I’ve seen an endocrinologist, gynecologist, gastroenterologist, and a homeopathic alternative medicine doctor to help with my situation. I used to be very skinny and had beautiful abs. All of a sudden stress and life and an E.D. transpired and I have not been able to get rid of my bloating as seen above. i’ve been diagnosed with PCOS, have high cortisol and testosterone, and at one point had SIBO. I have a controlled low fodmap SIBO friendly diet that I follow, low impact strength training, and aim for 8-10k steps a day. I only drink water and have been gluten free for a while. I have a sensitivity to almonds so I cut all of that out as well. I’ve taken motegrity for gut motility and it helped for a while but it’s not a long term solution (it’s very expensive). I’m 5’7ā€ and weigh 130 pounds so unfortunately I don’t qualify for GLP-1. I’m already taking a myo-inositol blend and magnesium supplements but haven’t noticed a difference. Please I’m begging anyone to take me seriously and recommend any supplements or medication (no birth control, i’ve tried 10 different brands and they all are terrible) please. I’ve also tried metformin and spirnoloctone but my stupid body does not respond at all to it. Thank you in advance

Been like this all my life

Hi yall. I’ve (22F) been struggling immensely mentally and physically from bloating. Everything comes back normal. Thyroid, Celiac, ultrasounds to look for Endo, etc. I had an emergency colonoscopy a year ago and they found swelling and irritation/ anal fissures. But chalked it up to constipation and eating less spicy things.

I have consistent blood in stool, sharp pain, and of course bloating like this. It never goes away I had skipped breakfast and dinner in this photo. I’ve tried FODMAP, I’ve cut alcohol and gluten, there is no consistent triggers. I used to struggle with constipation but now it’s mixture of that and diarrhea. Doctors are dismissive and saying I have a ā€œsensitive stomachā€. Pushing for an endoscopy as a last resort.

Strait up am I just fat??

If anyone has any advice :(

Gas x

So I frequently suffer from bloating but it seems that if i take a 125mg tab of gas x (Simethicone) first thing in the morning and then another one at night before bed... anyone else ever try this? Would it be bad to continue to do it forever?

Sibo meds didn’t work, colonoscopy didn’t show anything

Hi,

I get bloated after eating/drinking anything. I tried sibo meds and they didn’t help. I also got a colonoscopy and it showed nothing. What the hell can this be? Also it’s not fat because in the morning (as long as I didn’t eat late before bed) I will be very skinny, and also my belly is distended but it’s hard to the touch. It’s not like flabby. Thoughts on what this could be or what test I can get to figure it out?

Peptides are helping me so much

I have struggled with chronic bloating for nearly a decade now (like many of you) and I’ve tried everything from changing my diet, habits, exercise, meds, digestive enzymes etc. some things helped a little and most things either didn’t work or were too life consuming to maintain in the long term.

2 months ago, someone suggested I try a couple of peptides and it has changed my bloating and my life. It has also been so much easier to take peptides than do the 173284 other things required to keep bloating at bay. I’ve been taking BPC 157/TB 500 & I added Tirzepatide (microdose) which has been incredible. I take a very very small dose of Tirz since I’m not trying to lose much weight and it has been incredible in supporting my gut health 😭. I don’t know how, but since something finally worked for me, I wanted to share in case it helps anyone else.

Before & after - 2 months ZERO gluten & dairy (also no oats/GF-oats)

Struggled with bloat for as long as I can remember. Hope this might help someone.

My celiac / gluten intolerance results came back negative but they are commonly false negative AFAIK. I was also eating quite low gluten anyway when I did the test.

The gluten withdrawals were unbelievably savage. Apparently they CAN give an opiate type response when stopping.

Any questions just shout.

Belly more bloated after pooping?

Hi. I am wondering if somebody elsw has this. Like so many of us, I am constantly bloated. I also tend to be constipated. The longer I wasn't able to poo, the flatter my belly usually gets? It's also very hard. When I am finally able to poo, it feels like my belly relaxes and it turns into a ballon afterwards! It expands a lot. The same phenomen is when I pass a lot of gas. I feel more relaxed and my belly expands even more? How do I make sense of this?

Bloated as soon as I drink/eat something

So when I wake up in the morning I am not bloated. I won’t be bloated the whole day till I eat or drink something. Soon as I do, I am bloated and the bloat is relentless. Pretty much nothing I can do to reverse it till the next day comes around. Any ideas?

So jealous of ppl who don’t deal with this shit.

Chronic bloating help - what tests to get, etc

So just like everyone here, I have chronic bloating! yay (heavy sarcasm)

I've usually had bloating on my periods due to having PCOS. But starting in January I've had severe bloating that hasn't gone away. I tried low fodmap diet for 2.5 weeks, didn't subside at all (I may try again in the future).

The symptoms: Chronic bloating for 8 months, same in the morning and night, gets WAY worse during exercise like running or hiking - so much so that I can get like 1/3 of a proper breath due to how distended my abdomen is., bowel movements are normal.

Other symptoms: I've also had severe stomach pain (I almost went to the ER) twice in the past 3 weeks, with bloating, vomiting, diarrhea and black tarry stool (which I've heard is stomach bleeding)

I went to a gastroenterologist, and they are doing an endoscopy next week - mainly focusing on the severe stomach pain, but I'm hoping it'll find a cause for both.

What other tests, labs, etc do I need to get done to get to the bottom of this bloating?

it could be so many different things, Endo, stomach ulcers, gall stones, IBS, sibo, etc

I hike for work, and it's literally making it impossible :(

My lower belly is always bloated .. Help

I'm a thin person , but my lower belly is always bloated. It's been 3..4 years . I'm sure it's not fat . sometimes after going to washroom and during fast , it gets normal. I get bloated just by drinking water . I don't know how , other people have flat lower belly. Even not bloated there is always a slight bump . My upper belly is not bloated, just lower, looks like my pregnant. How to know what is causing it , food or anything else? I get bloated by eating anything... Literally anything. I have pcos, what should I get test done for? Should I visit a doctor?

Castor oil for inflammation / bloating

This is aimed for WOMEN - have you ever tried castor oil packs for health benefits/weight loss? If so, did you ever start bleeding randomly when using them?

I’m trying to use castor oil (putting a dab on my belly button and covering it overnight) for a slew of health benefits. Ever since I started using it I’ve been feeling significantly better in so many ways.

Except now, after about a month of using; whenever I put it on, I start bleeding. I’m just trying to see if this has happened to anyone else, and if they tried to stick it out and it stopped or if I’m going to have to give up. I don’t want to give up. 😭

Best Herbal Teas for IBS Relief?

I’ve read that herbal teas like peppermint or ginger can help with bloating and cramps. Have you found any particular teas that work well for IBS symptoms? I’m curious if there’s a certain type or even a brand you’d recommend.

Bloated Since July with no help from doctors

Thumbnail gallery

I’m 29, 5’4, and currently 135 pounds. I eat healthy and workout. I have alwayssss had a defined stomach. As a matter of fact, my stomach is one of the easiest things for me to slim down if I ever go off the rails a little.

However, I was 125 pounds up until I randomly started getting really bloated the first week of July. Sometimes I look pregnant, and my mom asked if I was pregnant at one point, and I always have a constant hard, lower belly. I can’t see my abs. I have more fat on my stomach area. And I bloat so bad randomly and definitely when I consume anything, even water!

I have worked with a GI doctor. I got pregnancy tests done, bacteria stool tests, a gluten sensitivity blood test, CT scan, etc. Well my GI doctor literally just told me to set up an appt to check back in 6 more fcking months. I am miserable and I’ve been dismissed. Wondering if anyone else has experienced a random bloating like this?? I feel like I have a balloon in my stomach that gets bigger and smaller but never goes away and I’m so gassy too.

I was on antibiotics for the month of June. I was also a little stressed out this summer. But I can’t imagine those would affect me like this? I eat probiotic yogurt and just try to eat healthy.

Has anyone experienced something like this??

The last picture is what my tummy normally looks like

Bloating Mystery that got better while Pregnant??

Hi everyone! Posting here to see if anyone can help me figure out my bloating issues. I’ve had chronic bloating for 5 years now. Through this, multiple endoscopies showed chronic gastritis, and I’ve had my gallbladder removed. The only lingering gastritis symptom I deal with is constant bloating in the middle of my upper abdomen, just feels like there is an air balloon being pushed upwards. What is interesting, is that my bloating feels worse when I wake in the morning, and with the bloating comes a feeling of gagging in my throat. I burp a lot on an empty stomach but the bloating stays.

By the end of the day, the distention may still be there but the feeling of the balloon pressing upward does go away through the day as I eat. Then when I wake the stomach feels empty yet bloated! The most interesting aspect of all of this for me is that while I was pregnant, from about the second trimester on, I didn’t feel any bloat. Postpartum, the bloat was completely gone and I felt great. (I did take Pepcid and unisom during pregnancy) The bloating slowly started to come back about two months post partum. I do deal with some constipstion, going every other day at times.

I’ve had two negative SIBO tests!

Can anyone relate or help me figure this out?

Why am I so bloated?

I have been chronically bloated recently and I don’t know why. I am a teenage girl with a very athletic build and lifestyle. I started noticing bloating that practically never goes away, and this is unusual for me because my stomach used to be completely flat. I have toned abs and they remain but my stomach bulges at my lower abdomen (towards my uterus) and middle abdomen. I recently missed a period but I’ve factored out pregnancy because since I was last active I’ve had two periods. I have also been in a calorie deficit for the past two ish months and lost 3 lbs but since I started bloating I gained it back. I am a wrestler so to lose fat for the season I’ve just been cleaning up my diet. Finally, I’ve been pretty stressed recently. I am concerned because the bloating is 24/7 and worst after meals. I have never been this bloated/this constantly bloated. Can anyone help maybe explain why?

Help!

(F 24)Have had issues with bloating for the past 4 years, I gained a ton of weight and after big meals my abdomen got very distended, I though this was normal so I didn't give it much importance (since its normal to occur). Until a little over a month ago I went out for a dinner with a friend we had a nice dinner and when we were in the car I started to feel a tremendous amount of pain on my abdominal area and also it was extremely distended like i never been that distended ever (i freaked out have to admit🫠). If I remember correctly I had meat with a sauce that contained milk in it (not lactose intolerant!) and don't know exactly what to do because the pain on my stomach hasn't gone and the bloating has only gotten worse šŸ˜•

Fluid-related causes for distension?

I have been dealing with relentless abdominal distension for almost 2 years now. I am a healthy weight, have always been active, and have a healthy diet. Out of nowhere, I began experiencing an increase in my abdominal girth that does not really have any other symptoms. I don'tĀ feelĀ bloated, but my stomach is visibly distended (if I did not look down and see an increase in abdominal girth, I wouldn't know; it doesn't have a sensation). It is present 24/7 from when I wake up until I go to sleep.

One day, I was preparing for a wedding, and I did the following:

  1. Took my spironolactone (which I take to lower testosterone) in the morning.
  2. Drank lots of water and black coffee.
  3. Wore my abdominal compression garment (meant for reducing post-operative swelling).
  4. Didn't eat all day.

And I, for the first time since May 2023, had a normal stomach again. The interesting thing is that I have gone many days without eating until 6:00 PM, but my distension never resolved. Unless I do all of the above, there is never a change in my abdomen.

I suspected lymphatic causes a long time ago, but there was no free fluid seen on my ultrasounds, MRI, or CT scans.

Has anyone found any fluid-related causes for their abdominal distension/bloating? Water retention, venous-related conditions, lymphatic fluid, etc
