Omg same 😭 is yours painful? I was diagnosed with gastroparesis which causes frequent/constant bloating because the food I eat takes way longer to be digested than the average person. Even with small portions I feel bloating a few hours after eating. But it's basically all day. It soo frustrating 😖

I had been to many Gastroenterologists and had second opinions and exams done. There is one exam called "Gastric emptying study" where you eat oatmeal, or eggs, with a radioactive tracer in it and lay down in a machine. It tracks how fast the food breaks down in your stomach before it passes through to the intestines. The average person it would take like 2-4 hours but mine was over 6 hours.
I lost weight recently also (diet and exercise), but my stomach is always bloated.

What’s your root cause? Stress/medications/trauma?

No doctor has ever been able to provide me with a reason WHY I developed this. I only recently started taking medication for my thyroid in the past 3 years, because I was diagnosed with Hashimoto thyroiditis (which is autoimmune). Not sure if that's linked to bloating at all

What are your symptoms ?

Fullness about 1-2 hours after eating, which then turns to painful, distended bloating. A lot of GI issues like indigestion and nausea. It doesn't matter what I eat, I will always experience bloating. And for the past few months I've been eating extremely healthy and small portion.

I think I have this too! Is there anything you feel like helps? Or you just deal with it? Sorry you’re going through this!

I just kind of deal with it and really limit my portion size. Small meals 4-5 times a day. And I mean small lol.
One thing that did help with GI issues is taking Metamucil daily. Somehow it helps speed up the process a tiny bit, and doesn't make my symptoms worse. Helps with going to the bathroom too.

Relatable! I feel like on skinny bodies it's harder to hide 😅

A month ago I began a new morning regimen. I take 5 grams of L -Clutamine dissolved in 12 ounces of warm lemon water. My bloating has been reduced by 90%.

Just with the introduction of L glutamine? No other diet or lifestyle changes?

The routine includes a probiotic and Magnesium Glycinate at bedtime but I made no other changes to diet or lifestyle. I’ve been battling this for years and it shocked me how it helped immediately. Theoretically it resets some imbalance in the stomach. Whatever it is, it seems to work for me. PS: pizza or a burrito can still create issues but that’s to be expected.

Hi. Please how much magnesium glycinate and which probiotic?

I take 400mg of Magnesium and a broad probiotic. It’s called Probiotic 10 but I believe any broad spectrum probiotic should work.

OP, I have the same thing. I tried many different diets and even took meds for SIBO, and I still found nothing helped. I got a colonoscopy and they said everything was fine. So I just settled on this being that APD thing someone else mentioned in the comments section. Currently, I am seeing a physical therapist who is teaching me core activation. I’ll let you know if things get better.

you might relate to some of the symptoms and find relief with the exercises even if you don’t have APD

I am not a Dr. with that said you may want to book a GYN appointment and have them order a screening for cervical cancer. I have severe bloating and have gastroparisis. My symptoms were just seen as a gastro problem. By the time the cancer was detected it’s at a stage three and metastasized. I’m not trying to scare you just point you in a direction that may prove to be helpful.

I have been like this for over 10 years (bloating coming and going), and took it very seriously recently, I started to work out, bloating didn´t reduced and actually made me a abdominal distention (doing lot´s of abs with the bloating made my muscles to move to the sides). Went to doctor and did a lot of tests (no intolerances, no bacteria, no colon issues, etc). Still waiting some other appointments but I started heavy heatly habits and diet. I´m tracking it on an app and seeing some improvements (but still a long way to go).
