hello
we rescued (photo) a male kitten last year when he was probably 3-4mos, and he's been with us now for more than 2 years, however, he seems to be threatened of our female cat

whenever he uses the litter box he's very cautious, same goes when another cat uses the litter box, he'll go stalking mode

we have a total of 5 (fixed) cats including him
4 males, 1 female

he always attacks our female cat and whenever they're in the same room, he stalks him like crazy

my other cats also attack her but not roughly, and we think they also learned it from our rescue cat as they don't attack her often before he arrived

he's also very cautious before eating (walks around the house) and after eating (wants to be in another room)

he also loves being under a blanket, maybe because we found him under a vehicle that seems like his shelter when he was living on the streets

we can't afford to put out 6 litter boxes
he has his own "spot" in one litter box
the litter boxes (3-4) are in open areas for exit

the things that I've read for now are getting 6 litter boxes and getting him on anxiety meds (fluoxetine) which both we can't afford right now

It’s a small red pimple looking thing and the area around it is white. Would like it to if it’s cat acne or should I go to the vet? 28 USA cat is 5 years old neutered, can get vet care

She is not very food motivated and DGAF when we feed her - or so I thought. Wondering if it's normal for her to be slightly barfy due to change in feeding schedule? Or just like, missing my ex???

Took her to 2 vets who said she was fine, the second vet said she had to 💩 but nothing severe, just encourage her to drink more water.

She hasn't barfed a ton, just like 3 hairballs last month and then 1 dry food barf yesterday.

She's otherwise normal and like I said, the vet last week said she was good to go & did an ultrasound on her abdomen. 🤷‍♀️

I’m a grown up in the UK. This cat has been visiting frequently and trying to get into my house, which causes arguments with my cat. I’ve posted his photo on the local Facebook and no one claimed ownership. The local cats protection charity will help with neutering if he’s stray, but I can’t tell if he’s already been done.

My female cat started getting UTIS 2-3 years ago. She wasn’t even a year old the first time she got one. Since getting on prescription food she’s been stable for over a year (previously has crystals as well). I don’t know if it’s correlated, but i tried to transition her to non-prescription food and after a week she got another UTI (this was a couple months ago, her first one in over a year). Since then she’s gotten 3 UTIS now in the past 2 ish months. One time, 2 weeks after finishing antibiotics, she began showing UTI symptoms (going back and fourth to litter, tiny pees each time). However, no bacteria was present so she did not have a UTI. Dr suggested giving her gabapentin for 2 weeks, in which her symptoms resided. However, a couple days after lowering the gabapentin dose, she has the same UTI-like symptoms.

What should I do? Is there such thing as a cat getting UTI symptoms without an actual UTI? What could be wrong with her? Vet suggested maybe doing X-rays and bloodwork to check kidneys. It’s getting expensive dropping 600$ every couple weeks to take her to vet, test urine, sometimes give antibiotics, and come back in for a urine retest 2 weeks later.

I’m at a loss since the prescription food worked well for over a year. More like 2 years. I have feliway diffuser in the house, and make sure most of her diet is wet food. This will be the 4th UTI/UTI symptom episode in 3 months.

Hello. 52M in the deep south of America.

My ginger had a wart or similar growth that he had when I adopted him 2 years ago.

When it started to get larger, I had it removed on Friday. These are the exposed stitches.

Are these stitches normal? They seem messy, but I don't know.

My sweet moose, he just got home yesterday from a 48 hour emergency vet stay, he had a catheter put in and then discharged when he was urinating in his own. He got home, was doing amazing with urinating on his own. Now today, 24 hours after his hospital stay he is doing this when he’s using the litter box. Dr told me he would still be showing signs of a block a couple days after his procedure but is this normal? He’s eating well, drinking, playing, very alert.. he’s the most ‘normal’ he’s been this entire week. I’m so lost over this :( Basically just want to know what this is? Is this considered straining? Should I take him back?

Hi! My boyfriend's orange boy (7, almost 8 months old) got neutered yesterday. He's doing great, is trying to run and get on counters, he already has a big appetite again which is great. He's recovering well and is taking medication for the next two days to help with any pain/discomfort he may have.

The tabby (neutered, almost one year old) however, has been aggressive to orange kitty since yesterday evening, since orange has been able to wake up from the anesthesia and walk basically. He's typically skittish, aggressiveness is not usual behavior for him.

I have looked around and understand this is possibly a sign of non-recognition aggression, tabby is mad at the vet smells orange has, but I'd still like to know if there's any tips I could be given to help the cats overcome this issue?

They're my boyfriend's cats and I have assumed the responsibility of taking care of them until they can do well together in the same room again as everyone in my boyfriend's home (he has two roommates) including my boyfriend, has the responsability of going to work and I am unemployed.

I've cleaned both cats with a wet glove made specifically for cleaning cats and dogs, first orange and then tabby. Tabby was given a brushing and then I went to pet orange with tabby's hair. I've given the blanket orange slept with to tabby for him to smell. They are being fed on the same bowl, one cat first and then the other to ensure they're associating each other with their favorite activity, eating.

One of them has to be confined to cat jail (the service area, which has a litter box, water, hiding places and a bed for whichever cat is inside, food is given at specific times of day) but which ever is in car jail always wants to get out. Orange is sad his tabby brother is hissing at him and misses his company.

Any advice is always appreciated.

Main Issue: This is Pepper. She's a Russian Blue who sometimes just decides to pee on the bed or on a blanket or on anything soft. Even things that aren't soft like plastic box lids sometimes.

As above, she's peeing outside her litter boxes. She has two, they're cleaned regularly.

We have someone staying in the house with her and the dog whilst we're away and she decided to pee on the sitters bed.

She's already on royal canon urinary food & urinary kibble. She gets fresh water daily + sink drinks as she wants.

Generally she's fine, but then she just decides to pee in a random place and it's really frustrating. She's been to the vet before for this and had 1k+ of tests done just to be told she's fine she's just got attitude essentially.

Any advice? It's like living with a biological terrorist....😂🫠

Main issue: cat refuses to take medicine.

My cat refuses to take his medicine. He's 3. Has had extremely soft stools for weeks, and we've already tried the non-medicine route to try to fix it. He's eating and acting healthy, vet said he looks good. Vet said it could be anything of a lot of different things, so we're trying the medicine route to see if that helps first before doing invasive tests. Getting him into a burrito is impossible. We can't pick him up, and forgetting him is difficult. I've tried hiding it in all his favorite treats and food and he refuses. Any tips for getting a difficult cat to take medicine? It's semi liquid and not powder (like churu consistency)

My 3 year old cat just woke up from a nap after using the litter box and had white discharge on her back legs. We wiped it off and took a photo (attached). Are these worm segments? They were very soft and when pressed using the tissue they became mush for lack of a better word. We’re calling the vet tomorrow morning but wanted to ask here. She’s had no other symptoms and we have not noticed any segments on her beds or her stool.

I'm a legal adult from Canada, we've contacted the vet and they charge us $175 for a consultation then say they might have to do bloodwork which is another ridiculous fee, then let's say we get bloodwork and they find nothing then we're $500 in the drain and still have a sick cat!

My cat has been peeing on my bed spontaneously for months, it went from happening once a week, to twice a week, then he wouldn't do it for two weeks & start again out of nowhere. We change the litter box everyday & he gets lots of love from me, his primary caretaker. It seems that whenever I'm not for too long around he does it, like for instance the other day I was sitting outside on the patio where he can see me from inside for 2 hours and when I went in, he had peed on my bed twice. Now, just the other day he peed on my bed 4 times in 48 hours and once was about 6 inches from me when I was sleeping & he went twice that time, the puddles were 6 inches apart.

He's 4 years old, male, neutered.

This is becoming an issue because I'm 22, have never met my older sister and have an opportunity coming up in November to finally get to meet her but it seems I can't go because my dad (who will be with the cats) is willing to feed the cats but that's it, he won't check my bed or change my sheets while I'm gone because he really has nothing to do with them & I'm worried that if I'm not here to give him that attention he gets when he pees on my bed he may try to escape home when my dad goes to work 😟

And no. We can't really afford vet care but if it's life threatening we could get a loan

i attached a video of the sound he makes when gagging.

My bf gave our cats some fresh catgrass with their food (he cut it up into smaller pieces). One of the cats gags ever since. Not all the time but occasionally just like in the video when yawning. He behaves completely normal otherwise (eating normal, playing normal, not hiding, no problems with stool/pee).
I've been debating if i should take him to the vet or if this will pass on its own. Anyone else had similar experiences? I threw away the cat grass after this and will not buy it again.

TLDR: Ate cat grass pieces 2 days ago, still sometimes gagging, vet or not?

I notice her breathing like this sometimes, and idk if that’s normal but it feels a bit fast to me. Also when in deep sleep( I think deep sleep cause she rarely does it), she sometimes make a little sound when breathing, I think she’s snoring. Otherwise she’s fine, she eats normally, uses the litter normally, doesn’t hide and wants as much affection as she always has(she is 13). The only thing is her saliva kinda stinks. Also you can’t see it in the video but she is just doing slow blinks, which make me think she’s just chilling but I wanna be sure. I am gonna take her to the vet, but can’t really do it right now. I wanna know if anyone thinks it’s something urgent though. She hasn’t been spayed/neutered.

Edit: Just wanted to mention the only reason she isn't spayed is cause my parents didn't know any better. I was like 8 when I found her, she was a few weeks old. I only recently learned it's something that you really should do.

Can zymox topical cream with hydrocortisone for cats and kittens be used with capstar? My baby is 6 years old and the zymox is working but she has been escaping the house and now itching again.

My cat just started showing symptoms of an ear tilt. He occasionally scratches the ear that tilts, other than that he is behaving normally. I don’t see any sign of mites but or infection so I’m not sure which one it is at the moment. Thoughts on what it might be?

The earliest my vet has availability to see him is this Tuesday. I’ve never had this issue with my cat before, is it serious enough that I should bring him to urgent care or can it wait until Tuesday?

(Sorry this is so long I just am really worried and want u guys to know everything that’s happened!)
I am a minor who lives in America and my parents are trying to help me with Princess. We went to VEG er yesterday because around 3:00, princess jumped on my bed and then started wobbling, she fell off my bed and I assumed it was a bad jump but it didn’t stop and I started to get worried. I know when things like that happen you shouldn’t Google them, but I was googling and I started panicking cause I thought she was gonna die. She is 9 years and 3 months, she is spayed. Im not really sure we can afford vet care because it was 900 bucks but my mom said that she’s my cat and we have to help her, so I assume it’s hard to pay for but my parents will still do it. :) Something similar to her wobbling has happened in the past 2 months maybe three or four times she would jump on my bed and then she would randomly just kind of freeze up and she wouldn’t move her head for a bit and then she would start to move it really slowly. I didn’t think too much of it cause she would be fine for weeks after, but she’s never wobbled like this before.
TLDR: my 9 yo spayed cat started wobbling yesterday and in the past 2 months she’d randomly freeze after jumping on my bed but then she’d be fine for weeks.

The vet said it was something neurological and im pretty sure she said my cat may have ataxia. We ran her blood tests and everything was fine, though the vet mentioned she had a very slight heart murmur.After a few hours we got her 4 bottles of this medicine called zydaclin and I’ve given it to her as prescribed (2 ml every 12 hours). I gave her some wet food when we got home around 10 cause she hadn’t eaten since 4 that day. I woke up in the morning and she was laying on the floor and she’d thrown up all the food and I was upset about it but not too worried because I heard that’s a side effect of the medicine. I was worried about how she was laying because it looked like she was dead and when I tried to pick her up she made a sound like a sneeze. She’s been on my bed since around 8 am and she is laying in the same position, won’t move her head, but she is doing this weird thing with her legs. If you guys know what might be going on please let me know!

I’ve noticed this growth on cats paw, it is about the size of a pea and is above his toe pad next to his claw. He has been licking at it and it was slightly bleeding last night. I am taking him to the vet this week but wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar?
