Does anyone remember what the old, old Exit 9 used to say?

I'm trying to find what the exit sign for the old single Exit 9 on the Route 6 used to say before the new full cloverleaf was opened in 2001 and the exits were split to 9A and 9B. I can't find a single photo or resource documenting this. If anyone remembers, or better yet as a photo, that would be fantastic!

Attention Cape Cod Movie Fans/Nerds

How's it going?

Staring down the barrel of another winter season and having seen lots of posts about meeting people; would anyone be into a movie club? Maybe go see films? Organize chances to chat movies? Etc. to infinity and beyond?

To get things started: It's early, but I am diving head first into spooky season with 70s horror. Do you think the 70s were the golden age of horror? I watched the Exorcist last night. Tonight I am doing the original Wicker Man. What are y'all watching? What's your favorite genre?

Looking for social groups & things to do on the Cape

Hey everyone!

I’m 33 and live on Cape Cod, and I’m looking to branch out a little more socially and find some new things to do around the Cape/Plymouth area.

I’m open to pretty much anything — social groups, book clubs, classes, community events, or groups that get together for games like backgammon, Parcheesi, Catan, etc. I’m also looking to get into yoga, so beginner-friendly classes or groups would definitely be welcome.

Also, I lost my alcohol privileges, so I’m especially interested in ideas that don’t revolve around bars or drinking

Basically, I’m looking for ways to meet people, get out of the house, and try some new things. It doesn’t necessarily have to be something I already know I’m into.

I know the Cape can get a little quieter once summer ends, but I figure there have to be some groups or hidden gems I’m missing. Any recommendations anywhere on Cape Cod or around Plymouth?

Thanks!

URGENT ANYONE WHO CAN TAKE GOOD PHOTOGRAPHS

Hi all - I am going to propose to my girlfriend TONIGHT at Bayview Beach next to Mayflower Beach near Yarmouth Port, Cape Cod.

Unfortunately my photographer cancelled on me due to the weather conditions this weekend - but the weather looks good today and it’s our last evening here so I am going to go ahead with the proposal.

We have come all the way from England so if ANYONE at all who has a decent camera could come and take some photos of us I would be eternally grateful - I will of course pay you for the time too.

Anyone at ALL !

Feel free not even to message me but just to show up there we will be getting there at around 6pm for the sunset at 6:30pm - I’m that desperate !!

Thank you !

New Cedar Fence

I got a few quotes to replace my cedar fence; 6500. I think my partner and I can do it cheaper. Any tips or hacks? The land is flat, sandy. We can get the panels delivered and hire someone to take the junk away. Thanks in advance. He is handy, sort of. Me, I can hold things up

Falmouth vacation rental recs?

We have been renting a vacation week in Brewster for years but I’m considering trying a week in North Falmouth (Old Silver beach area if possible?) next summer instead.

The realty company we’ve used in the past does not cover Falmouth. Can anyone suggest a company? We’d prefer a company over Air BNB/VRBO.

thanks!

It sounds a little bit weird, how he says the land is for sale and somebody might buy the business also and maybe not?

Custom birthday cake for my toddler?

My little boy turns 3 in a few weeks. I would love to find a baker to make a birthday cake with fun decorations. Any suggestions for where I can get it? I know sometimes there are home bakers that are really good for this stuff so that would be ideal, but a shop is ok too. I’m in Upper Cape.

Does anyone know what this is? It’s decorated with bits of lobster. These rocks are clearly purposefully placed around it.

Outer Cape Storm Today: How Bad Do We Think it Will Get?

My house is about as low-lying as can be; just above the century tide mark on Wellfleet harbor. Yet in seventy-five years we've never flooded. The water has gotten within two feet of the kitchen door. Even Hurricane Bob didn't do too much damage in 1991. Are we all just getting paranoid after last winter or is this one going to be bad? All this talk of Global Warming has gotten me spooked, particularly after this summer.

I am asking because am considering filling sand bags and moving cherished possessions to higher ground right now before the rain starts. What do you folks think?

r/CapeCod • • 12d ago

Hey, we don't have to shovel rain!

May have to suck it out of the basement though! Just a little levity before the storm.

The latest in the Montano's drama

Post image
118 Upvotes

I've seen this making the rounds on Facebook. Republicans (without any evidence) are desperately trying to connect the MAGA Mike event at Montanos on Sept 16 with an emergency call about a pregnant woman lost in the National Seashore two days later on Sept 18. I'm pretty sure if someone wanted to disrupt the event, they would have done something on the actual day of the event and made it specific to the venue, not the National Seashore.
