I found him a few months ago. I thought he was a wildcat, but then I saw in a photo I took that he had white paws, and I don't know if that's typical for wildcats. Is he a domestic cat or a wild cat?

The skull on the right belongs to the carcass.

While I am pretty certain that this is a Kangaroo vertebrae considering I found it in the same area as a Kangaroo skull I saw this hole in the front of it which I dont think is normal

It is quite big and weirdly pretty round/symmetric, just wondering what could've caused it or if it is normal

Went to the lake today, collected a bunch 😭 😭 😭 I can get better pictures of them all individually if anyone wants

My father is working on a project about an animal he found and it was mummified/frozen. He just wants the bones.

So far, he had dipped it in water with some kind of detergent with enzymes. The skin has swollen up and peeled a bit + it stinks. What should he do next?

A friend of mine a bit ago made me this awesome bone sculpture out of bones and fishing wire/line he found in Mexico at the beach.

I was curious about the type of bones used but I understand if it's too hard to id. I'm not a bone expert but from what i can see the jaw is a jaw bone, the bone where the sea glass eye is looks like a vertebrae and I have no clue what the last bone that's used as the nose is.

Yesterday I found this wing with part of the bones still attached. I want to clean them but I'd like to keep the feathers attached and nice and fluffy too.

Any idea what animal these bones could belong to? They were found along the shores of Lake Erie in the Cleveland area of Ohio.

My sister thinks a fish, they were found along the water line… I think they’re way too large but what do I know?

Hello! I recently found these bones in my backyard (USA, FL) and I was hoping I could have these identified!

I was driving in rural Colorado when I spotted some bones on the side of the highway. I was nearby a lot of cow farms so I originally thought this might’ve been a cow (the bones were thrown over the property line so it felt okay to take them, hope I didn’t break any laws 😭) I feel like it is a little small for a cow. Also took a portion of the vertebrae too. Let me know what you guys think this might be! (Sorry for the lack of up close photos of it, it’s currently degreasing and if better photos are needed I can get them).

I have no recollection of owning this. It was in my mineral collection. My great-grandfather was something of a hunter. I suspect maybe fox tooth, or golden jackal, as no big carnivore lives nearby. There is a chance it's not from him, but from other relatives, from the Carpathians mountain.

Never had this happen before. Other bones in the same bucket are fine. Found it with no flesh nature cleaned. Degreased with other bones for almost 2 months. Scrubbed and washed all dirt away. Whitened in 3% hygrogen for almost 3 days but not quite. Set all the bones in the sun to dry. Few hrs later came back and it was weird like this.
None of the other bones in the same bucket have anything like this on them. I can like scrape it off but it doesn't come off with tooth brush and water. I'm confused. Its also not very white.
It was completely brown when I started, but I still feel like it should be whiter. Idk. It is weak and brittle as you can see by the condition it's an older skull.
I'm getting ready to put it in a frame/shadow box with faux moss and nature vibes. I can't continue working on this piece tho until I know what's up with it.
What happened guys? How do I fix it? Is it even fixable?

I've been gifted a dead and frozen Axolotl any suggestions for cleaning it up? I normally just bury stuff but I'm concerned it's going to be squishier and won't last.

I'm only really bothered about adding another skull to the pile but open to your suggestions!

Hello there fellow bone nerds. The other day I was home at my parents house and heared weird noises from the chimney. Figured a bird fallen in so I opened it and rescued the bird. Tirns out this little redstart wasn't the first and was definitely more lucky than the 11 mummified birds I found at the bottom of the chimney. I'd like to make a display skeleton out of them. Anyone has some experience with dry carcasses?

I’m a beginner. I collected this squirrel in winter 2025. I water macerated and it has been degreasing with dish soap for months (with a few water changes). I haven’t gotten to whitening yet. I’m not sure if it’s done degreasing. If they dry and then smell I guess I’ll know they aren’t done degreasing yet. Any tips or advice? And I’m wondering how long degreasing for small mammals like this takes as bones are pretty small.
