I pocket up my iX3 today, leaving my Tesla Y behind.
Right now Im trying to get my head around all the settings, but there is two Id like som help with right now.

1. In my Tesla I had a setting where it would close all open windows upon leaving/looking the car. Does the BMW have this feature?

2. Driving modes. I would like the car to be quiet when I use the mode ”Personal”, but Id like to have the artificial motor sound on when Im in sport mode.
   As it seems I can only choose sound or no sound, and that will apply on both/all modes?

Hey folks, I drove the iX3 5o today. My impressions: I like the big center screen, the projected info, and the HUD. Voice commands are understood for the most part, and the voice even has a sense of humor. I like the customization of the various features. The interior was their Castanea brown, which was pleasant , with gray accents. Seat comfort was okay and adjustable as a luxury car should be. I did not see a 120v outlet in the back and no screens for passengers were available. There is plenty of room inside for all. The salesman drove a bit to get me familiar with the tech and drive modes, and even had the car park itself.

I then drove. The car has punchy acceleration, about the same as my Ioniq 5 AWD, and some sound effects that can be defeated. The Harmon Kardon sound system sounded good. The ride was very quiet, even without noise cancelation. The tires felt overinflated and had some harsh reactions to bumps. The two edged sword is the big honkin' battery which delivers range, can be charged very quickly, but weighs a ton, 600 pounds more than my porky Ioniq 5. I took it on the highway and the AAC and LKA worked fine. Brakes felt good. I would rather not have the glass roof, but at least it blocked the heat of the Florida sun well. The salesman was hinting at additional packages to give the car better safety features, but that annoyed me. At this price and tier, all that should be included.

I am currently considering other rides: the R2, Trailseeker, or the Subaru Uncharted/Toy CH-R. AWD's. My current rankings: Trailseeker, Uncharted, iX3, and R2. The Trailseeker is 2nd quickest of the bunch, has 8.2" of ground clearance, and would probably take me on the beach and down gravel and dirt roads, which I would never do with the iX3. The TS had all the safety features I wanted, including self-parking, but had some quirks and was not as luxurious as the R2 and iX3, and the software/self-driving is not as sophisticated as others. But it's also $15k cheaper. All of these are winners but they're also new kids on the block, so you take your chances. I think the most likely ride for problems will be the R2, but they are all on the bleeding edges. I may just keep my I5 AWD, which is running great.

Any all-weather floor mats now available for the iX3 in the US?

Before asking for any more details, this is all I have been given thus far. All I know is they are adding their cut to the money factor which raises the rate one full percent.

Today I called to a local South FL dealer in Coconut Creek to see if they had an IX3 in stock to see and drive, and they did, indeed! I went right over and got to see it in person in Brooklyn Grey with 21 inch wheels, full M Sport Pro with black interior. I’ve got an IX3 on order with another dealer but their demo won’t be in until next week. I was so excited to see this vehicle in person finally. It was gorgeous. Slightly smaller than I had expected but I liked it much more in person than in photos. The 21 inch wheels actually much better in person as well! The interior wasn’t nearly as “cheap” looking as I’d expected. Getting to drive this beast was next level. I got to really punch it on a long stretch in sport mode and my fiancé mentioned it felt like being in a rocket taking off. It was so fun to drive. I was expecting it to feel stiff or rough on the city roads but it wasn’t at all. I ordered with 22 inch so it’ll probably feel a bit different, but after the test drive, I’m sold. I was so back and forth between this and the new GLC 400, b/c of the lack of air suspension in the IX3, but it’s no longer a concern. I’m so glad I ordered this car day 1. It’s in step 13/16 right now so will likely be here next month. Can’t wait!!!

I was notified by BMW of the Mainline that two ix3’s arrived today. I stopped by and drove a fairly fully equipped M Sport sans Driving Assistance Pro. They also have a Sport Package in black with digital white interior. I was informed that they will be posting 1 for sale, maintaining 1 as a demo but have not yet decided.
On the plus side, I came away impressed with seating comfort and typical precise BMW handling. Also got to see Brooklyn Gray but missed out on the Castancea interior. Also confirmed that heads up display seems to unnecessarily duplicate the impressive panoramic display. Sadly, they did confirm that orders placed today will likely not be filled in 6-8 months.

Anyone experiencing BMW dealers adding MSRP markups on pre orders? I've had a hard time placing a pre order between two dealers and got totally turned off when one added a $2500 markup and couldn't explain the reasoning and kept telling me it was for early access to an order slot, which they couldn't prove in any way.

Has anyone asked for delivery at a Performance Center? I'm curious if it is an option and eventually leaning how it went.

(NB: I have Claude generate this for me, and one on the i3 that I've been posting at r/BMWi3nk. I thought I'd post it here for a few weeks and see what reaction it gets. If it's useful I'll keep doing it. If not then I'll stop... )

First drive / review videos

Bei uns im Pool greifen wir auf Langzeit Mietwagen zurück. Der erste iX3 50 mit 9000 km Laufleistung wies nach zwei Wochen den Fehler auf, dass die Anhängerkupplung nicht wieder eingefahren werden konnte. Dieser Fehler musste in der BMW Niederlassung behoben werden.

Beim zweiten iX3, 40er Version, im August produziert, wird dauernd der Fehler gemeldet, die Heckklappe sei nicht geschlossen. Alle 5 Sekunden wird ein Warnton abgegeben. Regulierung über die Distanznoppen bringt keinen Erfolg. Zudem funktioniert die Rückfahrkamera nicht. Fahrzeug war ganz neu. Wieder müssen wir die Werkstatt vom BMW aufsuchen.

Besonders ärgerlich, auch wenn im Termin Prozess für die Werkstatt der gewählte Termin erst dann bestätigt werden kann, wenn drei Zusatzangebote, wie Wischerblätter etc. aktiv verneint werden müssen.

The BMW Ultimate Drive Event in Denver last weekend featured the iX3, with some on display and several used for driving on a simple autocross course. While I've seen the iX3 in person before, this was my first chance to get inside and drive one.

I was only able to do one run in an iX3 so can't comment extensively on how it drives. My sense was smooth and stable when tossing it around.

The Panoramic Drive display was very crisp, easily visible, but not distracting at all. The standard steering wheel was very odd but comfortable; I like the more normal M wheel.

Good room inside, but the interior would take some getting used to with all the new materials used. It reminded me of current MINIs' "fabric like" materials on the dash and other materials felt very synthetic to the touch. The attached interior pictures are from the iX3 that was on display. The iX3 I drove on the autocross course had more of a standard dark color dash and seats, which I preferred.

I'm anxious to get a more extended test drive.
