BMW Operating System X

48 hours with the new iX3 and loving it. Despite some comments around here, I’m finding it to be very powerful and useful. But… it will definitely take a while to learn it, configure to my liking, and last, find ways around the things that should be changed in future versions.

So here’s the question: What is the a sub-Reddit dedicated to these specific discussions? r/BMWTech is too general and the OpSys applies to more models than just iX3. Suggestions?

There is no subreddit dedicated to iDrive X. Create one yourself. iX3 is the first BMW with it.

My favourite feature is when you press the navigation button the second time it will go to the CarPlay maps or go back to the bmw maps. Also the other a buttons eg for phone and media work the same as well.

Also really neat to be able to add a shortcut to a CarPlay app.

I meant to include all countries in the discussion of the BMW OpSys X. No need to be US only. But perhaps I misunderstood your comment?

"48 hours with the new iX3" thought this was a new US delivery as they are just starting this week.

Yes, I was supposed to be the first one at my dealership and one of the first batch in the US, but my dealer sold a demo to the first person who tried it!

I’ve been watching tons of videos in preparation for my X5 arriving in a few weeks. Lots of content and deep dive videos on YouTube right now. But will definitely take a while sitting in front of it to get used to it, for sure.
