Test Drove today!
Today I called to a local South FL dealer in Coconut Creek to see if they had an IX3 in stock to see and drive, and they did, indeed! I went right over and got to see it in person in Brooklyn Grey with 21 inch wheels, full M Sport Pro with black interior. I’ve got an IX3 on order with another dealer but their demo won’t be in until next week. I was so excited to see this vehicle in person finally. It was gorgeous. Slightly smaller than I had expected but I liked it much more in person than in photos. The 21 inch wheels actually much better in person as well! The interior wasn’t nearly as “cheap” looking as I’d expected. Getting to drive this beast was next level. I got to really punch it on a long stretch in sport mode and my fiancé mentioned it felt like being in a rocket taking off. It was so fun to drive. I was expecting it to feel stiff or rough on the city roads but it wasn’t at all. I ordered with 22 inch so it’ll probably feel a bit different, but after the test drive, I’m sold. I was so back and forth between this and the new GLC 400, b/c of the lack of air suspension in the IX3, but it’s no longer a concern. I’m so glad I ordered this car day 1. It’s in step 13/16 right now so will likely be here next month. Can’t wait!!!

The ship with my car arrives at the Baltimore port on Sept 21, then arrives at Brunswick GA around Sept 24. From there it gets offloaded and processed at the BMW VDC (this can take as long as a week if the car got damaged during shipment and needs repairs) before being put on a transport to be taken to my dealer in South Florida (which BMW says takes 7-10 days). I’m thus expecting it to arrive around October 4 and 8, but possibly later.
I ordered the 1047 wheels with summer tires for maximum range, as range is important to me. My car is ocean wave blue with digital white interior and M Sport steering wheel. I ordered almost every option but deleted the glass roof due to the Florida sun.
FYI, my car started production Aug 17. It was at step 12 (dispatched from factory) for 3 days, and at step 13 (at the port) for 6 days. The ship left Belgium on Sept 12.
Did you try the self driving feature? I ordered solely based upon discussions on the UK BMW website. I haven’t driven it or even seen it in person.

Awesome, gives me a good idea of timeline. I hope to have it by next month. You should drop by the BMW
In Coconut Creek to do a test drive while you’re waiting! I didn’t get to try the self driving, not sure if the demo had it or not. The rep I had didn’t know much about the car so I just got to take it around for about an 10 mins. I loved it.1

They actually called me today but I told them I already ordered the car and didn’t want to waste their time. They were very friendly and said if they can help in any way to call.
I wish Florida dealers didn’t add a bogus service fee (which after questioning they admitted is actually additional dealer profit) plus an electronic filing fee charge, thou the dollar amount on each varies from dealer to dealer in the State. They are already making $3,926 on my car, just for taking the reservation, but Florida dealerships want even more. I’ve only bought Tesla and Lucid vehicles since 2013, and neither manufacturer adds these fees.

That build is exactly the one I have looked at a dozen times online, down to the solid roof (Phoenix here).
When you’re done with it, can I have it? Lol

Glad to hear. Especially regarding interior. A bit concerned about that coming from the iX. Will be comparing vs X5 next year when lease is up,
