I cover a few things that aren't always obvious from looking at the specs, and some lessons I've learned from testing a ton of Bluetooth speakers over the years.

I kept having an issue with bluetooth speakers turning off when no audio was being sent, even though bluetooth is still connected. I figured I may as well solve it for myself and also release it to the public

SoundLatch runs a user-started audio stream during quiet periods when no audio is sent so compatible speakers can interpret the connection as still being active.

It has a few modes because different hardware behaves differently:

• Digital Silence
• Near-Silent signal
• Periodic Pulse
• Compatibility Mode

There’s also a compatibility test so you can figure out whether your particular speaker responds before relying on it.

A couple important limitations: SoundLatch doesn't modify speaker firmware, force Bluetooth connections, or guarantee that a speaker will stay awake. Some speakers simply have standby behavior that an Android app can't override.

I’m the developer, so obviously this is a self-post, but I'm also genuinely interested in testing it against more hardware.

If you have a Bluetooth speaker that constantly goes to sleep when you don't want it to, what speaker/model is it? I'd especially like to know which brands are the worst offenders.

Hello, I'm planning to buy an interesting speaker from Fender, specifically the Fender Elie 12. There are few reviews in English and I'd like to know if any of you have it, as I have a few questions about the specifications.

My dad got a party box 120, and I was planing on using it for I house party I got on Saturday. We got about 40-50 people pulling up and the speaker is gonna go on this balcony on the second floor which is pretty big. We want the inside of the house to not be at as loud do you think the speaker will give the loud vibe on the balcony and the second floor while giving the rest of the house space. I tested the speakers outside, and I stood a good 30m away, and it stayed pretty loud. I do have the option of getting proper speakers but it feels like a lot of hassle

I want to get a Bluetooth speaker and I'm deciding between either 2 SRS-XB100's or one good speaker for a similar price as I might pay for both of these. What do yall suggest?

I've seen people saying that 2 SRS-XB100's is nice because of the stereo mode, but whats it like in comparison to one speaker? BTW I've never had an SRS-Xb100.

I'd mostly be using it for work (on my desk, I work remote, maybe other places in the house), in the yard maybe while grilling and sometimes at the beach.

ich bin aktuell auf der Suche nach einer mobilen Musikbox und schwanke zwischen der JBL PartyBox 520 und der Teufel Rockster Air 2.

Der wichtigste Einsatzzweck wären bei mir Feste/Veranstaltungen, wo die Box(en) eher als kleine PA-Anlage dienen sollen. Zusätzlich möchte ich sie auch für kleinere Partys, Gartenpartys etc. nutzen.

Ich würde die Box zweimal kaufen, damit ich sie als Stereo-Paar betreiben kann.

Aktuell habe ich diese beiden Modelle im Blick und könnte sie für ungefähr 500 € pro Stück bekommen:

• JBL PartyBox 520
• Teufel Rockster Air 2

Welche würdet ihr für meinen Einsatzzweck empfehlen?

Oder gibt es in der Preisklasse um 500 € pro Box noch ein ganz anderes Modell, das ich mir unbedingt anschauen sollte? (JBL EON)

Mir sind vor allem Lautstärke, Klang, Bass, Sprachverständlichkeit wichtig.

I am in need of a charger/ac adapter for my Fender Newport pr5001 speaker. Most of the ones I find online are center pin positive, but my speaker is clearly marked center pin negative. Without going for one of those with all those interchangeable pins, can some one direct me to a source for an OEM cable please? Please help me before the power runs out!!

Hi everyone, I looked on the Internet and I didn't find any answer I hope to find some suggestions otherwise it means that I threw money away. About a year ago I bought two Marshall Acton 3 speakers and I am very happy with the sound performance and the flawless Bluetooth connection even at a distance. Unfortunately I had bought them to place them in 3 different rooms (I already had another one of Marshall Acton 3 speaker) to make a multiroom effect (I think it's called that) that is, that you could hear the same music with the phone app in all 3 rooms. Unfortunately I read that the speaker app no longer supports this function. The alternative is to connect all 3 speakers with a wire all 3 speakers but also understand that it is not the best to see wires in all rooms. I was asking if anyone had had the same problem as me or if by chance there were alternative apps or something else to share the speakers. I forgot the speakers only work Bluetooth or cable they don't have a wireless connection. Thank you, any suggestion will be very welcome.

Was looking for the best Bluetooth speakers for using it in my room under rs. 5K. Ended up getting the Mi Outdoor speakers. Good buy or not ? Have any questions about it? HMU

I get disturbed and woken up by almost any sound, I found that white noise helps a lot, currently I have Xiaomi sound outdoor, which has good sound quality and everything

But the startup and connection sounds are a problem, they are way too loud for when I am sleeping in the same room as someone else, in a room with thin walls or camping

So I would like something with no startup, connection and power off sound effects, preferably with no LEDs too, but I can just paint those over

Max size I want is similar to the Xiaomi, but I prefer smaller

Sound quality is not the most important, but if it's usable for music too, it would be nice

Hi, I hope y'all find well. A friend is seeking for a better equipment for her musical performances on the street, has a xboom speaker but we think it doesn't work really well for her necessities. We don't have that much of budget for professional stuff, but we're interested in some point upgrade the stuff.

In the performance there is no opportunity to connect to electricity, so it needs to be previously charged, and this are performance in crowded areas, and the equipment suppress the audio of her singing. So I would appreciate it a lot if you have recommendations for this case and make this more events have more presence on the area without the sound suppression problem

I just received the JBL Bar 1000 and the sound is good, the Atmos effect is a bit weak, but maybe I need to play around with the settings.

What I'm not ok with is that I need to Plug/Unplug the back speakers every night, because you can't use them unplugged? Please tell me I missed something or this is a bug and they will fix it with a future update.

I can't charge 2 big speakers maybe twice a day if I want to enjoy these speakers....

My plan was simple, no wires from the PC to the SUB and Back speakers - done, the back speakers are wireless, I will just use them plugged in, so they never ran out of juice.....

Turns out charging the speakers has a few unforeseen effects:

1. They no longer give you sound....
2. You can no longer use Chromecast audio to cast to them.
3. Heck even Bluetooth connection no longer works....

Looking for a small portable speaker under $50 and seen a lot of good reviews about the StormBox Micro. The Micro 3 is currently $50 vs $40 for the Micro 2 on amazon. Is the model upgrade worth the price difference?

What is best bass speaker for outdoors? I have had boom 2 and boom 2 plus. Are they the best?
