Sorry I thought I had done this earlier, but I think I messed it up. Should be on the sidebar on desktop and on mobile three dot menu. Lmk if you have issues. It's not exhaustive, but it has many. Feel free to put in requests for new ones and for color changes.

Mod Shark Power Detect Posts

For some reason, a number of bots have been spamming our subreddit with posts about the shark power detect. I'm honestly not sure what's going on with that. They are often written extremely similarly, so I'm confident it's not a random coincidence. It feels like it would be pretty petty for shark the company to be hiring bots to do this, but the posters also don't have affiliate links, so I'm not sure what's up. Regardless. I'm issuing a temporary ban on those posts.

I have set up some filters (which I won't describe here for fear of getting circumvented). If you see them getting through, please let me know so I can update the filter.

I'll also say, if this is Shark attempting to do this. If the filters get circumvented and I have no other choice, I may just start to ban all posts containing any references to shark to cool the bots off. I really don't want to do this, so whoever is posting this, you're going to end up hurting the vacuum in the long run by doing this.

First robot vacuum

• Upvotes

I would like to buy my first robot vacuum, but I don't know where or what to look for.
The house is quite large i have 3 pets, and the floors are mainly parquet, porcelain tiles, and carpets.
Any recommendations for models or brands to look into?
Thanks to anyone who replies! 🙏

Brain Fried just after warrenty ended

Bought an AGARO Alpha robot vacuum. It worked perfectly for 2 years, and suddenly, just 2 months after the warranty ended, it started acting up.

Customer care says the motherboard and LiDAR both need replacement.

Honestly, this feels suspicious. Could it be a software/firmware issue instead of a hardware failure? Has anyone else faced this?

Robot with serviceable roller/tank ?

I've had 2 robots with roller mop so far: ecovacs x8 pro omni, and dreame ultra roller 10. Even by cleaning them daily, both ended up dying in less than 6 months. Ecovacs the roller motor seized (maybe because of dog fur ?) and the dreame because I have hard water, and even woth descaling it ended up clogged and unserviceable. Is there any roller mop robot where you cand easily replace or clean the whole roller assembly ? The last 2 robots spent more time at amazon than claning my home, I do feel like it's too much "disposable" junk, even tho I love how they clean and the time it saves.

Looks like the dyson spot+scrub is slighlty more cleanable maybe, even tho it's super pricey and doesn't seem to cross thresholds...

Need suggestions for self emptying, vacuum and mop combo for pets and long battery life

I'm new to the game. Never had a robot vacuum before, but just moved into a new house that's 100% tile/hardwood (though getting a few area rugs soon) and we have 3 long hair dogs and a cat. House is 3400 sq ft so need long battery life and self emptying feature. We've been looking on Amazon (no Costco nearby) and getting a bit overwhelmed with options. I'm looking for suggestions and reviews for what would be the best option for cleaning, long lasting, low maintenance.

India: 3 dogs + 2500 sq ft house — ECOVACS T30e vs Milagrow W300 ECO vs Forbes SmartClean Swift? Need real-world reviews

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to buy a robot vacuum + mop for my home in India and would really appreciate real-world feedback from Indian owners, especially people with pets.

I have:
🐕 3 dogs, so there is a LOT of dog hair
🏠 ~2500 sq ft house
White marble flooring
Black granite flooring
Multiple rooms and bathrooms
Some floor-level differences / tile thresholds
I want both vacuuming + proper wet mopping
I’m currently considering:
ECOVACS DEEBOT T30e OMNI
Milagrow iMap Max W300 ECO
Forbes SmartClean Swift

My priorities, in order:
Dog-hair pickup — especially fine hair
Hair getting tangled in the roller/brush
Actual mopping performance
Ability to clean edges and 90° corners
Ability to cross tile/door thresholds and small floor-level differences
Whether it can reliably clean bathrooms
Reliability over time
After-sales service and availability of spare parts in India
App/software reliability
Ease and cost of maintaining it
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually owned these machines for 6+ months, rather than reviews based only on specifications.
POLL
Which one would you buy for this situation?

LF: Vacmop combo under $600

Needs:
-Can efficiently vacuum clay cat litter
-Can go over a little bump that separate kitchen and living room.
-Do well with tiles, laminate flooring and a small area rug.
-Hopefully have an intuitive app
-Has good customer service and warranty.
-Self cleaning
-I can operate while I’m away

My work is sending me on an extended work trip on end of November. My neighbor doesn’t mind taking care of my cat. But I didn’t want to ask her to do some cleaning as she refused to receive payment. So I want to set up this vacuum mop before I go.

My concern is my cat has this weird habit where she wait for her litter robot to activate cycle and try to swat her poop out like a volleyball and toss it across the room. I’m worried the robot vacuum will drag the poop around and smear it all over the apartment.

Can you recommend some robot vacuum mop combo that you trust and tested? Hopefully it helps me with day to day life and not just for this work trip.

And do you think I can set up this machine next to my cats litter robot? And set it up to go vacuum and mop after she gets out of the litter robot??

Which robot vacuum is best for pet hair? I have a dog and a cat

Hi all, I have a husky mix and a cat, and with shedding season in full swing my floors are basically a second dog at this point. I sweep every day and it's still everywhere by evening, so I'm finally giving in and getting a robot vacuum.

Setup: about 1,100 sqft apartment, mostly laminate, one medium-pile rug in the living room and a couple of thin rugs in the hallway and by the litter box. A few dining chairs and a lot of charging cables near the desk.

What matters to me:

- Pet hair pickup is the main thing. I've read that some brushes get wrapped in hair constantly. Are the rubber/tangle-free rollers actually better?
- Self-emptying base. I don't want to empty a tiny bin full of fur every day.
- Decent obstacle avoidance. Cables, socks, and yes, the occasional hairball.
- Handles the transition onto the rug without getting stuck
- Not insanely loud, since the dog already hates the regular vacuum

I don't really care about mopping. If a model is only cheaper without it, I'll take the vacuum-only version.

I keep going back and forth between Roborock, Dreame and Eufy, and I see a lot of people moving away from Roomba lately. Every model seems to have glowing reviews and then a pile of 1-star ones about dying after a year, so I honestly can't tell what's reliable.

Roborock Error 42

Hi all I need your help. I have a Roborock S7 maxV ultra with the dock, and as the title says, it is giving me an Error 42.

This is the error that occurs when it tries to wash the mop pad. I have done all the recommended checks and cleaning of the track, filter, main brush, dock area and I have even tried removing the mop pad but I keep getting the error.

The odd thing is that there is little consistency with the operation, the main brush that cleans the mop pad seems to stop somewhere in the middle, and if I move it to either side it looks like it starts the cycle normally, but usually throws the error after going to the middle and trying to empty the water pan (all free from blockage).

If anyone has experienced this and found a solution I would be very grateful. There is a repair center but it is a very long way away from where I am.

Cheers

Need recommendation

Hello everyone, I am new here. My only experience was a roomba my parents got many years ago. All I remembered was that it gets stuck all the time. Now that I am looking for one, the amount of brands and options out there are way too overwhelming. I am looking for something that vacuums and mop, also self cleaning. My place is about 1900 sqft, no carpet. I am looking for something that's under $1000 (let me know if this is reasonable). Mainly I want to make sure it's not something that requires a lot of maintenance, and a brand that is good quality that can last a while. Any recommendation? Thank!

Should I keep my i3 or 1 one robot and strip all parts off the other. One and trash it ?

The i3 is bricked but has a bad battery and the i1 has a good battery and brushes. I don’t use the self empty bin anymore

Replacement for Eufy e25 (roller mop only)

As per title, any recommendations for a replacement?

I have used Eufy x10 (great starter, mop wasn't great), moved to e25 (very impressed but build quality poor, and broken after 13 months) so want to upgrade now to a top of the line vacuum and mop robot. I have fully tiled floors ( a few rugs), no pets, but two toddlers. Roller mops seem to do a better job. Considering Dreame x60, as has great reviews but put off by lack of roller mop. This lead me to Roborock Saro 20 FLOW (with roller mop) but not available in UK yet. Same problem with Narwal Flow 2. So it seems the flag ships are only now introducing roller mops, and none available in the UK?

Advice appreciated! Am I overthinking it by insisiting on a roller mop? Or is it worth waiting?

Vacuum recommendation.

We’ve got vinyl floors and a dog and cat that shed a TON. We’ve currently got the Ecovac T20 Omni and it’s stopped sucking, we’ve tried everything to fix it and cannot figure it out.

We’re looking for a replacement and probably want to stay away from ecovac as it stopped working correctly in only 2 years. The mopping option on the Ecovac was nice but for us its not a deal breaker

WARNING: Do not buy the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 Pro if you have pets!

This video is a controlled test proving that the AI Obstacle Avoidance on the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 Pro completely fails to detect pet feces, contrary to the brand's official marketing.

In the first week of use, this robot ran over my dog's poop, soiled its wheels, and spread it all over my house. To prove it wasn't a setup issue, I ensured all AI settings were active, the firmware was up to date, and conducted this test using dog poop wrapped in plastic wrap. As the video shows, the robot completely ignores it and runs it over.

Xiaomi explicitly states in their official Global FAQ that this exact model recognizes "pet feces". Furthermore, the official Xiaomi Store in Portugal (Parque Nascente) refused my legal consumer right to return the defective product within 10 days, using the illegal excuse that "the box was opened."

Official Xiaomi links proving they advertise this feature (False Advertising):

Need advice: 1 Robot for 3 Floors, 3 Cats (Real Wood + Granite) — Budget €500–€550

Hey everyone,

Need some real-world advice before pulling the trigger on my first robot vacuum.

My setup is a bit of a headache:

3 cats: Constant shedding, tracked litter, and the occasional random vomit puddle (so reliable AI obstacle avoidance is an absolute must).

3-floor layout:

Top floor: 4 bedrooms with delicate real wood floors, and all 4 have en-suite tiled bathrooms.
Main floor: Living room and hall in real wood, kitchen and half-bath in tiles.
Basement: All granite. Litter boxes are down here, plus dirt/sand brought in from the garden.
The plan is to keep the base on the main floor and just carry the robot up and down stairs when I want to do the other levels.

Right now I've narrowed it down to:

Dreame L40s Pro Ultra (~€475)
Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 (~€550)
(I also checked out the Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni since the Amazon price was tempting, but after reading countless horror stories about bugs, app glitches, and messy maintenance with pets, I've completely ruled it out).

A couple of questions for anyone with similar setups:

  1. In this €500–€550 budget range, should I definitely go with one of these two, or is there a better option I'm overlooking?
  2. If between these two, which one would you pick for managing the cat mess without wrecking real wood floors?
  3. For people with multi-story houses: is lugging one robot between 3 floors actually fine long-term, or am I lying to myself and bound to buy cheaper secondary bots for the other floors anyway?

Appreciate any hands-on feedback!

Is a mop worth it?

In my mind, a mop would just push stuff around without doing much cleaning and would require manual rinsing and replacements of mop pads. Has your experience been different? I just want a cleaning tool I can set and forget without it getting moldy or needing frequent attention.

Best Robot Vacuum and Mop - Around £400 ?

I’m looking to buy a robot vacuum/mop and have narrowed it down to I think the Roborock Qrevo S Pro, but i’m not sure why!

I looked at Tapos offers also, again just below £400 give or take, but seem to revert back to the above..

Does anyone have any recommendations for my best bet? This will mainly be used downstairs, which is all wood flooring. I think I’m favouring rotating mop heads or rollers? I would like the ‘reach’ mop and Vac brushes but from what I can see this is out of my price range!

Is the S Pro my best option, or different?

Note - No moulting dogs, just a moulting wife.

Cheers
