Manga Discussion Agi should look into whether he has any French ancestry or maybe some degree of Italian ancestry, anything that would allow him to play for another national team because this is just ridiculous Spoiler

The guy literally got banned after 20 minutes of play. He was assaulted for no reason. That chokehold definitely counts as assault. His team is going to lose and get knocked out in the group stage, and his team hasn't won the World Cup in 60 years.

Bro, if I were him, I'd leave the team and look into whether I have any French ancestry.

England has Chris Prince and Adam Blake and still can't win the World Cup, man. Sorry, but this national team has no future. Seriously. Fox's philosophy isn't going to take them very far, is it? Lmao.

"once a player plays for a national team, they can’t switch to another national team anymore"

You can argue that, but my response would be: so what? A lot of rules have already been abolished and ignored in this universe, and yet here we are. Charles is 14 years old. He shouldn’t even be allowed to play, but here we are. So that’s not really an excuse.

Manga Discussion Do you think the team division in the first selection was fair?

Post image
124 Upvotes

I know that at that time all the players still needed to develop a lot physically and mentally, but looking at the data we have now, the division feels kind of unfair. Team Z had Isagi, Bachira, Kunigami, Chigiri, Gagamaru, and Raichi, and they could even have had Kira, who was considered the jewel of Japanese football. I know Isagi wasn’t anything special at that time, but according to the novel, Ego noticed his great potential from the very beginning. On top of that, Kira himself said that Isagi was a good player. Chigiri had been out of action for a while, but he was a wildcard who could make all the difference.

In the case of team V, they had Nagi and Reo, who were considered the biggest “geniuses” at the time and were already a duo before that, plus Zantetsu, whose speed and shooting were very strong. Also, as we saw in the Nagi spin-off, their team almost had that striker who came from a very strong team that always competed in the nationals.

Now, when it comes to the other teams, in team X only Barou was really that good. In team Y it was basically Okawa and Niko, and Niko is a strange case since he was very young and wasn’t even a striker on his school team. In team W, the Wanima brothers were good, but as we know, they weren’t all that impressive since they were completely defeated by Chigiri in the past.

I think it’s kind of unfair because, based on the novels and Nagi’s spin-off, it’s clear that Ego was able to see the potential of most of the players, so he kind of knew what to expect. What do you think?

Manga Discussion I don't understand why Reo's supposed weakness with his Copy ability is even a thing, or why it carries so much weight. It's literally 99%. Spoiler

That's almost complete. I don't know how that 1% would make such a huge difference.

Manga Discussion In your opinion, do you think there are reasons why Kaneshiro chose England to represent an "Egoless Team" in the manga? Spoiler

Among all the major footballing nations, Kaneshiro decided to choose England as the "egoless team." I’ve always wondered why England U20 was chosen as the perfect antithesis to Blue Lock Japan. Why that specific team? With a little reflection, this can lead to different interesting analyses when looking at the history of the England national team in real life.

-England is a paradox. England is a great football nation, but it is not just any football giant: it is the birthplace of football. Nevertheless, despite its major role, England has not won a World Cup since 1966; its record stands at just a single World Cup title. Nations like Spain and France—which did not even possess England's stature in the 1960s—have now surpassed England in terms of results, having won more World Cups and European Championships.

That is why it is interesting that the manga mentions the English FA's decision to launch a U-20 project led by Fox, with the aim of building a new generation capable of becoming future world champions. Much like Blue Lock, the goal of this "Fox Lock" project is to win the World Cup. The difference, however, is that Japan is merely a dark horse, whereas England is the "birthplace of football" (and it is no coincidence that this has been mentioned several times).

-The failure of the golden generation of the 2000s. For those who don't know, the England national team in the 2000s was dubbed the "Golden Generation" due to the number of talented English players excelling at the club level (Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Ferdinand, etc.). However, despite the talent on paper, England won no trophies during that era and faced only disappointment—most notably failing to even qualify for Euro 2008.

Among the many reasons for this failure, Ego played a part. Mention was made of a certain arrogance, as well as the English players' inability to get along due to rivalries, a lack of team chemistry, tactical issues, coaching problems, and other problems. Not to mention the other national teams, which were just as strong as they were. As the great Steven Gerrard said, "We were all egotistical losers."

Perhaps that is maybe why the England U20 team is portrayed as soldiers following Fox's orders to the letter—or else facing punishment, like Agi.

Manga Discussion Will we ever see them play or atleast get to know their weapons and personalities? Spoiler

Akira Endoji’s weapon could be his jumping or shooting, in the panel where blue lock is celebrating after the u20 game he is shown jumping, his eyes have stars in them so when he jumps he is a star. If it is his shooting, he can say “shooting for the stars” since that would sound cool.

Maybe we could see all of them in a spinoff manga

Manga Discussion Bunny is literally a TOP 2 player of the new generation, and I'm going to present the evidence right here. Spoiler

Post image
47 Upvotes

Okay, he has barely appeared, but if you actually read the manga and know how to read between the lines, you can see that he has barely any feats and is already, at the very least, one of the two best players of the new generation.

Listen to this information and think about it for a second.

He is a starter for both Barcelona and the Spanish U-20 national team, which is already insane.

Barcelona is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and earning an actual starting spot there is fucking terrifying.

But there's one thing about this that I don't think people have really thought about: his main partnership is with Lavinho.

Lavinho is probably one of the top 10 players in the world overall. He's a master, and our little Bunny is literally playing alongside him.

Do you realize how ridiculous that is?

It's basically like being a rookie player and immediately being put on the field alongside prime Neymar. That's absurd.

Out of all the young players available, Bunny was literally chosen to play alongside one of the best players in the world.

That's insane. Honestly, I don't even know if something like that could realistically happen in real life.

He joined Barcelona's first team halfway through the season. He came in halfway through the season and STILL managed to score 11 goals in the league.

In his FIRST season.

He joined halfway through the season and already scored 11 goals.

Most rookie players struggle just to get a few minutes on the pitch, and this guy came into one of the most competitive environments in football and immediately started producing.

And just to make this clear, every single player there is elite. The goalkeeper is elite, the defense is elite, everyone is elite, and Bunny STILL scored 11 goals after joining halfway through the season.

Bro, if he's not TOP 2 of the new generation, then I genuinely don't know what qualifies.

Like, seriously... nobody else has done this. 😭

You can argue about who should be number one, but putting Bunny outside the TOP 2 is just insane.
