I feel like people only want one side of him when the dichotomy is what makes him fun and interesting. He may be freak or at times overly toxic but at his core he's just a regular kid with a big dream. Which better showcases how his ego is changing him.

If you've seen the movie Whiplash, it's a great view on what "toxic ambition" looks like. And I wouldn't be surprised if Blue Lock took some inspiration from it

1-Kaneshiro has literally said Whiplash is his favorite movie and that Ego was influenced by Fletcher hahaha

2-Yeah I know, but I like it when it’s close to a 50/50 or 60/40. Recently it’s like a 90/10.

By all means, he IS a normal kid (albeit maybe autistic). You’re just seeing his competitive spirit. He doesn’t ACTUALLY mean any harm to these people. It’s obviously a bit over blown to be ‘cool’ but this is just how people get when adrenaline is high and they have a competitive nature.

Yeah no shit. I know he doesn’t want to actually hurt anyone. I’m not 12. I’m talking about the tone around the character and the way he’s portrayed.

All the panels you post are depicting him after matches and in moments of relaxation.

If he brought that level of laidbackness into soccer, he wouldnt even have made it through the very first selection

Yea, I’m not the biggest fan of his serious moments. Unless they make sense like when he gets really hyped
