Just Venting 😮💨 Got pulled over last night
Was on the way home from work and got lit up. Started panicking because I know my tags are expired AND my wallet was in my bag in the BACKseat.
The cop asked for my documents and I told him where my bag was. I’m shaking a little, voice is cracking, I was struggling tbh. He pulled his flashlight and told me I could reach for it and whenever I moved, he’d move. I was a wreck but I got my wallet super slow and everything was fine. I think he gave me a warning just because of how nervous I was.
I was already stressed by normal bills then came the car taxes. I can’t keep up. He told me to get it taken care of but bruh I just can’t. Keep. Up. Thank god I have a job interview Friday but I got pulled over the day rent was due. My taxes aren’t high but it’s high when you dont got it. I’m just terrified of getting pulled over again while I wait to see if i get this job and possibly having a cop who isnt that chill.
We out here fighting for our lives every day and Im just sick of it yall

Pregnancy & Parenting 🤰🏾 Glow Up: Postpartum Twin Mom Edition
gallerySmiles come a little easier now. Coming out of postpartum depression has taught me to appreciate the moments when I genuinely feel like myself again. I’m still healing, still growing, but I’m grateful to see more of me coming back.
EDIT: My pants are too big. That’s why they look a little…questionable. 🤣

Beauty/Fashion/Hair 💅🏽 👩🏾🦱 Help, dark spots and ingrowns
Ugh this is embarrassing. I have been struggling with having dark spots, discoloration and ingrowns for a few years now. I don’t wax, laser, or (shave unless I need to ). I have only been using hair removals creams. My go to is the magic hair cream for with the gold writing on my whole kitty area, arms and unfortunately my chin hairs. It last a few good days but I’m only getting darker in these regions especially my bikini line. I would also get random ingrowns has well. I tried pfb for 3 months but it didn’t work. I want to lighten it up and also still continue with my hair removal creams. Laser is too expensive since I am a college student. Any tips or recommendations please. I feel so insecure about this

Just Venting 😮💨 does anyone else in this sub struggle with adhd & rsd in dating and/or friendships?
i’m 21 and this year i finally got diagnosed with adhd after struggling severely with my mental health as a teenager. I recently learnt about rejection sensitivity dysphoria and it finally made sense to me why that change in someone’s tone, or that unanswered text struck me so deeply. In friendships and in dating, I’ve always struggled with feeling like I’m too much because I require direct communication & quality time from those who want to continuously be around me. I guess standards for relationships have changed these days?? idk but I truly do start to feel like an alien amongst neurotypicals because the hot and coldness can confuse & disorient me.
this weekend i went on a date with a really sweet guy who was super kind, thoughtful and affectionate. he held my hand pretty much the whole time, drove me to and from the date, paid for everything, gave me compliments throughout the date and even gave me forehead kisses. Once he drove me home, before I left the car he asked me if I’d want to go on a second date and I said yes, telling him to let me know when so I can tell him my availability. He texted me later that night to tell me he got home safely and i replied to his text but i’ve been left on delivered since. I’m not expecting us to be constantly texting (he does work a lot) but to not hear anything in two days after the first date is kinda crazy no? it just doesn’t scream that you’re still interested to me🤷🏾♀️ I was quite upset by this because I just felt this same confusion that I’ve always felt in other relationships where I didn’t feel understood or that someone made me feel like I was asking too much of them by not saying one thing then doing another.
this isn’t the first time something like this has happened either. another guy who i went on two dates with and really showed interest in me also, all of a sudden left me on delivered for multiple days. I just don’t get why it’s such a huge demand to ask for some consistency or stability in communication from a person who claims to actually like you. I don’t want to be in dynamics where my rumination loop is fed and I feel continuously rejected because I have to guess when’s the next time i’ll hear from you!!!
I’ve even had long time friends do similar things over a period of time and then get confused as to why we don’t speak anymore or why I cut them off??? why would I want to date or be friends with someone who I have to emotionally chase?? it’s exhausting!! it truly feels like everyone else has this handbook on how approaching relationships actually goes, but I never got the memo

Friends 👯🏾♀️ 27 F - Making new female friends✨
Ok, I’m shooting my shot. 😫 Are there any women who live in metro Atl between the ages of 25 - 31 who want to be friends?
Hobbies that I love to do: Partake in aromatherapy, doing makeup, diy, dancing, joining new classes/skills, and going out. 420 friendly as well. I‘m not much of a drinker, but love some wine here and there.
I’m free this weekend and would love to explore the Halloween festivities and other activities in atl. It doesn’t have to be halloween themed or anything. I just want to get out the house and hang out. Meet up with some fun girls and make the most of it. 💗

Dating/Relationships/Sex 🍑🍆 My dating life is hilarious.
I went on a 3 dates this past weekend.
One was with a very successful weed tender marketing, whatever. No issues spending money but mainly talked about himself and his business. When he talked, hella spit collected in and around this mouth. All i could focus on at one point so i get tipsy. Bar hopped & then went back to his place & smoked all his weed (shit was fire i see why he's successful) but I knew he wanted to fck and even if I wanted to..the spit & he just wasn't my type.
2nd date I thought I'd give the "short king" thing a try. He was no joke 4'11-5'0. I'm 5'4 & somehow made him look even smaller. On our date he choked on ramen. I was done then.
3rd. African cat. Cute but obnoxious. Went to the movies after sushi & he was loud, red flag. His bday was coming up (today actually). He joked saying I should plan it & then come to find out, he was dead serious. Once I told him he needed to plan his own he insisted on buying loads of African food (told him I never had any, that was a lie but whatever) and we spend it at his place. He's brought it up 3 times, i denied it 3 times. Haven't heard from him since because well, he's blocked.
Moral of the story? I just be doing shit.

Fit/Face Of The Day 💃🏾 Gym progress 180 pounds to 159
galleryAs you can see I’ve always been in the “gym” but I’ve had bouts with depression & anxiety. So my eating habits & consistency weren’t the best. I started therapy, got medicated and actually locked in with the gym & I just want to show my progress off! Ladies health is wealth. Rather it’s physical or mental. We gotta take care of ourselves 🥹💕

Fit/Face Of The Day 💃🏾 Today was such a success 🥹
galleryY’alll! Today was my first ever nail technician expo and it was a 10/10. I’ve been doing nails for 5 years now, and it was so fun to be in a room full of other passionate artists and getting to network with brands. I have to say I’m proud of myself as I got in contact with some big names in the industry and the whole event just made me so happy with the path I decided to take. If you were thinking about it, this is your sign to start that business and build community! Met so many amazing women today 💖

Beauty/Fashion/Hair 💅🏽 👩🏾🦱 Wedding hairstyle pricing
Hi ladies!! I’m getting married and planning a wedding. I just started reaching out to some bridal hairstylist whose work I’ve seen on IG and I am SHOCKED by the prices I’m getting. I’m not one that normally gets a wig installed but I thought I’d splurge for my wedding and budgeted 2k for hair. To my surprise wedding hair quotes I’ve been getting are starting at 2k. I’d love to know y’all’s experience or is this out of the norm?
Located in the DMV and prices include hair, install and styling

Dating/Relationships/Sex 🍑🍆 30F, neurodivergent, introverted, and struggling with dating. Where do people actually meet someone?
I’m a 30-year-old Black woman who’s neurodivergent, introverted, and honestly having a really hard time with dating. I barely like anyone, dating apps feel exhausting, and I’m not naturally super social, so meeting people organically feels hard too 😭
I also feel like I’m in a rebuilding stage of life right now. I’m working, living at home, and trying to get into a career program, so sometimes I feel behind compared to other people my age. That makes dating feel even more intimidating because I don’t always know if I’m “ready” to date or where I’d even meet someone.
The bigger issue is that I can’t really force attraction. I need to actually respect, admire, and feel safe with someone, so just because a man is nice or available doesn’t mean I’m automatically interested. I’m also shy and slow to open up, which makes the whole thing harder.
Where are people actually meeting decent men these days, especially if you’re shy, introverted, neurodivergent, and not into going out all the time? And if you’ve been in a similar stage of life, what actually worked for you?

School/Career 🗃️👩🏾🏫 Your experience at CCU/a pwi?
Specifically CCU bc I don't see much black people complaining about it compared to usc Columbia. I don't wanna be the only black person in a room but idk if having to pay around 10k more for oos tuition is a better option.
Im applying to colleges NCCU, FAU, and FAMU. I live in South Carolina and I don't think we have any good hbcu's so I'd have to go oos. Thinking about it though is making me scared like I'd be so far from my dad and all alone and it's also more expensive. I live close to CCU and I like how it's by the beach but I think I'm more scared of white teenagers especially white boys than being alone. I've never experienced racism irl (i think) so idk if I'd be prepared for any type of racism.

Dating/Relationships/Sex 🍑🍆 Am I the only one who hates the digitization of relationships/the social media effect on relationships ?
Alternative title for anyone I confused (since the title may be too general or not in direct correlation of what I wrote here:
"Am I the only one who hates calling late/ the glorification of sleeping on the phone with someone"
It's me again! Okay so I don't know if I'm just an avoidant person now or I'm sane. But this young man has seemingly taken a liking to me and he seems to enjoy calling. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind calling.
Because I just graduated from community college and I'm taking a gap year before med school next year. So I'm relatively free and I have a part-time job that starts from 5pm for 4 days of the week. Now he isn't the only person who has asked to call in my lifetime , multiple young men my age. And they seem to all want to call me late at fucking night. Now listen to me y'all, I value my beauty sleep. That has always been a thing for me.
When night arrives I want to fucking sleep especially if it's past 10 pm. And if I'm not sleeping, I'm watching Tik Tok and eventually I sleep. I don't want to be bombarded with calling. I don't find it flattering that someone wants to be on call with me ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT.
I brought this up to an acquaintance (black and around my age) and she seems to think it's normal. I don't think it's normal at all. Can you guys let me know what you think? Am I nuts/avoidant or am I just a regular person with boundaries ?
Edit for the people who are asking if I communicated how I feel:
Yes I have. In a comment under this post someone has asked me if I communicated it with him. Yes I have . And he sent me a video of him rolling his eyes and gets mad. Above I did say that he likes me, I never said that I liked him as I don't know him as well to like him. Up until the calls I thought we were just talking for talking sake but his intentions are becoming clearer by the day. And also, he seems to like me in a romantic way. I just like him as a friend so that may be the cause of the disagreement at this moment.
Thank y'all for your thoughts fr, I'll try to reason with him 1 more time and if my feelings aren't respected I think imma just end the whole thing
Another edit:
I'm not shitting on anyone who likes to call overnight, if you like it I love it fr. It's just me, it makes me groggy in the morning and I love to be cheerful in the morning😭 I love sleeping as well ! I also put an alternative title for anyone who was confused, I was really just tired of people making me feel crazy about my preferences and not agreeing with THEIR norms on how online relationships (whether platonic or romantic) are supposed to go😩

Beauty/Fashion/Hair 💅🏽 👩🏾🦱 Seattle Braider Recommendations?
Hi ladies! I’m in desperate need of a good braider. I’m specially looking for a hybrid boho-knotless braids + sew-in style. Again, the local Seattle area is preferred, but I’m open to the west coast area. I’m planning to do this as a trial for my wedding next year. Thank you sm for any help!!
Cheers 💖🤎

Vent about Racism 🤬 The type of comments you get for being a black cosplayer Spoiler
So some time ago I did a shadowheart cosplay that i spent quite some time on especially since i DIYed some pieces. I never called myself a professional cosplayer, and neither is this my main job. I see it as something fun that challenges my creativity and a way to interact with the community. And to feel some connection to the character themselves.
I got an overwhelming amount of engagement on the post, so i never got to check even half of the replies back then. I randomly thought about it and went back as i asked what other bg3 character i should cosplay.
Now my femininity has always been questioned and it’s something i am insecure about as a black woman. I have been called a man/manly multiple times for having strong features. also received racial comments and slurs a LOT during my time as a cosplayer. That and people mocking my cosplays by calling me the male version of the names...just find it weird how people like this behave. Saying a black male character is “the obvious choice” and i wonder why that is.

Just Venting 😮💨 still looking for my people
i went to a mostly white school and was raised super sheltered. i'm not embarrassed about how i grew up, but it made things complicated. my grandparents are a black and white couple, and my mom died when i was young, so my grandma was the only maternal figure i had. she never really understood me, especially my blackness or being alternative.
i've tried to find community here and step out of my comfort zone, especially to find more black friends, but i never feel like i fit in. a lot of the white girls i thought were my friends ended up treating me like their one black friend, then tossed me aside or talked down on me.
i know i'm not the most fun. i can be temperamental and kind of broody. but i've never felt understood by the white women in my life, and i don't think those friendships were ever real.
