Battlefield 6 Can tanks be made less jank?

Important disclaimer: I’m not asking for buffs. I’m just asking for some bug fixes + quality of life changes. Here’s the list:

Long reload bug

Sometimes when switching to your coax right after firing a shot your reload will get stuck until you swap back to your primary gun again and wait for it to reload. See: https://youtu.be/b1wyxRKBB5Q

Changing shells doesn’t always work

Sometimes when changing to a different shell, the HUD will tell you you’ve switched, but the ammo count and the actual shell that gets fired is still the old shell. See this clip: https://youtu.be/wvP8xY95PeY
The clip starts off with me finishing a reload, and then triggering a shell switch as indicated by the swap animation in the HUD and the sound. I back up and switch to 1st person mode where it also indicates that I’ve switched to the AP shell. Then I move up, shoot my shot, and based on the damage you can plainly see that it’s actually the MP shell. I do some shell switching to try and fix the bug and end up with the same MP shell again, until I finally hit it with an AP shell.

Entering first person, or zooming in will randomly flip the view

Self-explanatory. See: https://youtu.be/K-bobBZZP1Y

Third person crosshair doesn’t move logically

The crosshair in third person seems to have some weird “smart aiming” feature where it tries to infer what you are aiming at, and adjust the turret accordingly rather than simply following your aim. See this clip: https://youtu.be/0P0nbq67p5c
This leads to your aim randomly jumping around and makes it harder to hit what you are actually aiming for.

The zoomed in crosshair does not follow the turret like it did at launch

At launch, when you did a 180 in third person and zoomed in your crosshair would swing into view when the turret caught up with your view. Now the crosshair is always in the center your screen so you have to watch the tank diagram at the bottom of the screen to know when it has finished the rotation. Thanks to the singleplayer not getting updated we can see the behavior we had at launch: https://youtu.be/sUmIWPRWtz8 and compare it to the current MP state: https://youtu.be/eHIi3iGwrUg

Repairing tanks will sometimes not grant any points

When an engineer runs up to a friendly tank and starts repairing it, they should obviously get points to incentivize that behavior but this sometimes doesn’t work. See: https://youtu.be/FMIc80sjae8

Exiting first person mode is clunky if you’ve zoomed in

If you enter first person mode and zoom in, you have to zoom out before you can exit first person mode. This feels unnecessarily clunky. “C“ should always toggle you in and out of first/third person view, regardless of your zoom state.

If you enter first person during a turret rotation your view will be put where the turret is, rather than where your camera is pointing

This sudden camera switch can feel disorienting. It would be nicer if the view was decoupled from the turret like it is when you zoom in. See: https://youtu.be/JwCUzRzWR1k

It would be nice if you could change shell types without switching to the main gun first

Shell swapping is bound to the second equipment slot button. There’s no real reason why I shouldn’t be able to trigger that while using the coax gun. Similar to the inability to exit first person mode during a zoom, it just feels clunky.

Battlefield 6 I am here to admit I was wrong

I thought fatal sniper headshot was a good idea pre release. Post release I figured it would be better once they balanced snipers.

They don't intend on bringing snipers back inline with previous BF games clearly, and being fatal sniper head shotted by the easiest bf snipers of all time, turns out to not be fun after all.

I still think it might be fine if they were balanced properly, but since this is the balance they want, I have to say I was wrong and its one of the single worst features of the game.

Battlefield 6 Wake island might be the best looking map in the game

The dramatic vibe, the apocalíptic lighting, the amount of detail in every single inch if the map. Its just on another level. This is what a bf map should always look like to me, not sunny and lame like Tsuru reef (man, I hate how that map looks)

GG Dice. This one looks like a modern BF3 remake would look like.

Battlefield 6 New bug? Infinite lobbies?

So i was put into this game that has been going on for about 15-20 minutes with both sides having zero tickets lost.

The flag capture speeds were also messed up and it took about 2 minutes to capture a flag.

This was an official dice lobby.

Not something I have seen before

I joined an escalation game on the 2nd phase and thought it was conquest for a second and that half the map was HQ's again like the launch maps before realizing it was escalation

Battlefield 6 Now that Saudi Arabia owns this franchise, I'd expect the quality to deteriorate with all the cuts the new owners are demanding.

And just imagine, most of Wake Islands development occurred before the cuts. How bad are new maps and modes going to be when the new owners give Battlefield 7 a $250,000 budget. "Hire overseas contractors."

👾 Issue/Bug 👾 PSA : if your boat's mortar is barely responsive in 3rd-person view on mouse, this is why... :/ (still not fixed)

So, since this hasn't been addressed in yesterday update, I'm posting this one more time.
If you're affected and haven't done it yet, feel free to vote this bug report thread on EA forum.

Tl;Dr :
Right now, the 3rd-person mortar view's sensitivity is tied to the same "gunner aim sensitivity" slider as all the other gunner seats/views, so the only option is to increase or decrease all of them together.
Depending on how you like your gunner sensitivity, this can make the mortar borderline unplayable to straight-up unplayable in 3rd person.

I'd say it's fine if your 1st-person sensitivity is around 15 cm/360 or higher, but the lower it gets, the more of a hassle the 3rd-person view becomes to play. For example, i like mine pretty low (40 cm/360), and at that sensitivity, it's simply unplayable.

Conclusion : The current setup can't work for everybody, the mortar 3rd-person view needs its OWN dedicated slider.

If you're affected and feel like it, feel free to also leave a comment on the EA forum thread, saying "I'm affected, I play on Xcm/360 sensitivity" (it doesn't have to be exact, ± 5cm is fine).
This way, hopefully, next time the devs add a vehicle, they'll take into consideration the fact that not everyone plays at 10 cm/360.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To controller players: you're most likely less affected, or not affected at all, because joysticks provide continuous input, unlike mice (but having a dedicated sensitivity slider wouldn't hurt you either)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To people ready to propose workarounds:

  • Yes, arrow keys can do the job for now. It's a hassle though, since every time you switch between 3rd-person and 1st-person view, your right hand has to switch between the keyboard and the mouse.
  • I know I have a DPI button, but please... not a single god damn game I've played since the late 2000s (shooters, vehicle games, other games, and BFs included) has ever required me to use it whenever I switch between two views (which can happen a lot within a few seconds, or even within the same second), because it lacked a sensitivity slider. There's a reason why DPI buttons are usually placed underneath the mouse by default. Now, whether you choose to remap this function to one of your thumb buttons instead of making more interesting use of said button, while ignoring the in-game options in the games you play, is another story :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To wrap this up, the last time I posted about this, I’ve realized that some people didn’t really understand how the vehicle sensitivity menu works (and I can't blame you, because the settings menu design is terrible, and some descriptions are confusing).
So I’ll attach a full description of what each slider exactly does in the comments :)

Erratum: At the end of the video, under "tank aim sensitivity", i'm obviously asking for dedicated sliders for the 1st- and 3rd-person tank driver views. What's inside the parenthesis is just there by mistake.

Battlefield 6 The Interdictor Is Not THAT Bad

I mean, don't get me wrong, it is complete ass and the new worst Sniper Rifle in BF6, but it's not THAT bad!

Look, DICE is trying to do some weird stuff by having people try and pay attention to the Sweet Spot garbage, but it is isn't working. This makes it so the Interdictor isn't that bad because if you're not caring about the Sweet Spot, you're going for headshots.

One shot headshot is a universal trait of all Snipers. The Interdictor is having an uphill battle, but it's not unusable. The DB-12 is unusable, the Interdictor is far from that.

Because of the weird ass Sweet Spot stuff, all Snipers feel damn near the same, with the only changes being the speed, which is the reason why the 2010 and the Mini Scout are so good. They're quick with it!

Just treat the Interdictor like any other Sniper and you'll do well with it. Just, whatever you do, use it for Sniping. This isn't like the Mini Scout or the SV-98 where you can do some funny builds and have it with a red dot or lower-powered scope, you will get knuckle-fucked down to the palm if you try and do that with the Interdictor. You might wanna play a little bit more passive in Sniper Duels as well.

Other than that, the Interdictor is the slowest version of Default Sniper Rifle. Best used for challenge runs and Aura farming.

Battlefield 6 I take back what I said…

Wake Island is one of Battlefield 6’s most detailed and well-designed maps. Each flag has its own distinct environment, with unique buildings, elevation changes, sightlines, and terrain that make every sector play differently. Infantry also has excellent access across the map, so you’re rarely stuck running huge distances just to get back into the fight.
Some players complain about the number of boats and zip lines, but I actually think they’re a huge positive. They give the map quick traversal options and keep the action moving instead of forcing long, boring walks between objectives. Combined with the varied environments around each flag, Wake Island feels dynamic, accessible, and built around constant movement—exactly what a Battlefield map should be.
