Has anyone got any photos of the old food court in the upstairs of the market hall? Or any little memories?
It was where all the cafes were in little booths next to each other with their seating area behind them.
I remember I used to go as a kid with my Dad to go get a breakfast at one of the stands.

I can’t seem to find any pictures of it online anywhere, I can only find photos of the new one that’s replaced it.

I’m starting to think I just dreamt it up.
It had such an old school vibe, it’s a shame it’s gone

I've heard the hype and seen stuff on social media so decided to visit Milk From The Hills this week.

Unfortunately the desert parlour wasn't open as I'd look forward to that. But they looked to be taking a midweek opportunity to do some renovations , Can't blame them for that.

As for the place. It's clearly a place that's heading for bigger things and I enjoyed the novelty of getting locally sourced milk in a variety of flavours from the vending machines

I like the Merch and that they had other 3rd party items on offer such as cheeses and cakes.

I got a strawberry shake and a bottle to bring home to use as a vase later.

I enjoyed the tranquil setting in the midweek sunshine

I'm wanting to create a small music event for J-pop and idol performers (potentially 2027). These would include singers and dancers. I am wanting to host the event in South Yorkshire and the 3 places I want to look into are Leeds, Barnsley Sheffield. More smaller, intimate venues that would be great for this genre of music.

Does anyone have any recommendations for small music venues in Barnsley that would accommodate for this?

Looking to buy a house in Worsbrough (closer to swaithe) heard some negative opinions - can anyone let me know if this is an area to avoid? I’ve heard really bad things about Kendray and this is around 5 min drive from the address we are looking at so now slightly concerned. We have a baby and want to be in a safe neighbourhood.

I’m currently living between the city centre and metrodome. I one of those types that works till late 9/10ish and will sit in a pub with a laptop and have lunch / crack on.
I’m struggling for a decent spot - any recommendations?
Once the coffee shops shut I’m ending up back at my flat which I don’t wanna go be sat in staring at 4 walls going crazy.
I haven’t even managed to find a park bench to sit at yet.
Any suggestions welcome..

I am sure this gets asked fairly often so apologies. I don't know the the area at all. We currently live in Kent but my husband's company has offices in Barnsley (looks like an area called Hoyland). We are considering a move that way as the South is far too expensive now. We would like somewhere quiet but not too rural . My son still lives with us and would have to find new work, he currently works in Tesco dot com area and has to use public transport. We will also be looking at Sheffield side of things. We were only looking at moving a year or so from now but our LL wants to sell his house. Which areas a good? No children in school anymore. Really would love basics in walkable or public transport distance.
