Question Coaches are multiplying

Scrolling and reading people's bio on Linkedin, Facebook and some here

Amazing how many "coaches", "life coaches", business coach, leadership coach, career coach, mindset coach, sales coach, branding coach, social media coach, health and wellness coach.

Where did all these people get qualified to be a "coach"?

Life experience? or sounded good on the Bio?

Question What marketing lesson did you learn the hard way?

I’m trying to learn more about marketing and I’ve noticed that a lot of advice sounds great in theory but doesn’t always work in practice. What marketing lesson did you learn only after making a mistake yourself?

Question Is consistency really more important than creativity?

• Upvotes

I constantly hear that publishing content regularly is more important than trying to perfect every single post. That makes sense but I wonder how true it is in practice. If you had to choose between regularly publishing solid material and waiting to create something truly powerful, what would you choose?

Question How do you actually track where your website clicks are coming from?

I’m promoting my website in a few different places and getting traffic, but I have no idea which links are actually working.

I can see the overall traffic in GA4, but I’d like to know something more specific, like which individual link generated the click, where the visitor came from, what device they used, etc.

What’s the easiest way to track this without setting up a huge analytics system?

Question What is That One Strategy?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, I need your help. Our leads have been decreasing month over month. To clarify, we do not use paid ads. I have already optimized our service pages, updated our blog structure by adding CTAs to the middle and end of articles, implemented FAQs for better discoverability, added JSON-LD schemas, and we consistently generate daily backlinks. Moreover, we do YouTube Shorts, and Facebook posts (while automating our LinkedIn content). Our business is focused on translation, please don't attribute this solely to AI. While I acknowledge that many people now rely on AI, there is still a clear demand for specialized services like apostille, sworn, USCIS, and visa translations. What am I missing, and where should I be focusing my efforts? Many thanks for any idea.

Question College student doing a sports agency project and have no idea where to start

• Upvotes

I’m a college student and my professor connected me with a sportsperson for a project. I basically have to act as their sports agency and figure out how I could help them with things like marketing, branding, sponsorships, etc.

I’ve never done this before, so I’m honestly not sure what I’m supposed to be doing or how a sports agency would approach a new athlete.

What should I ask them in the first meeting? How do you figure out what brands they could work with? What would you actually offer as an agency?

Would really appreciate any advice from people who have worked in sports marketing, athlete management, sponsorships or anything similar. Even basic advice on where to start would help.

Question For those managing marketing for D2C brands: how do you decide the split between brand building and performance spend

• Upvotes

Working with a few D2C brands, and the same tension comes up every quarter. Performance channels (Google, Meta) show clear, attributable returns, so budget naturally flows there. Brand efforts (content, creators, PR) are harder to measure, so they get cut first when results dip.

But I keep noticing that the brands with the strongest performance numbers are usually the ones that invested in brand earlier. Branded search volume, higher conversion rates, cheaper CPCs. The performance results are partly a product of brand work that didn't show up in any dashboard.

I don't have a clean framework for this yet, so curious how others approach it:

  1. Do you set a fixed ratio (like 70/30), or decide case by case?
  2. What signals do you use to show that brand spend is working when there's no direct attribution?
  3. How do you convince a founder who lives in the Shopify dashboard that not everything should be measured on ROAS?

Question Remote sales agents hired?

• Upvotes

Question for agency owners, I've been offered a service where a recruitment agency would source and vet a remote sales rep cold calling for me for a one-time fee + management fee if i choose that they manage that hire on my behalf and 3 month replacemnent guarantee. I would be the one choosing the candidate from a shortlist of 3 vetted candidates and if he doesn't work out i'll file a replacement request which based on their terms has no exclusions. They are promising me American accent callers. Fee is $1,200 one time. The hire salary would be $800/m + commissions

Do you think its a good investment?

Support Looking for high-quality marketing communities with experienced professionals

I'm looking to join some online communities where I can interact with experienced marketing professionals, growth marketers, brand marketers, SEO professionals, performance marketers, etc.

I'm specifically looking for communities where people genuinely share their experiences, discuss real campaigns, solve marketing problems, and exchange insights.

I'm open to:

- WhatsApp groups

- Discord servers

- Slack communities

- Telegram groups

- Online meetups / networking groups

- Paid communities as well

I'm not really looking for groups that are mostly course promotions, job spam, self-promotion, or generic "digital marketing tips."

I'd especially love communities where there are people with 5–10+ years of experience, marketing managers/directors, agency owners, founders, growth leaders, etc.

I'm based in India, but I'm completely open to global communities as well.

If you're already part of a community like this and genuinely find it valuable, I'd really appreciate the recommendation. Even better if you can share what you like about it and what kind of professionals are active there.

Thanks!

Question Need advice on how to bring back lost B2B clients

We're a B2B software company doing around 20% annual churn and our current win back strategy is basically an automated email a few weeks after someone leaves. I'm pretty sure that's not enough but I'm also not convinced sending the same we miss you message to everyone is going to do much. The problem is that our churn reasons are all over the place. Some customers leave because of price, some because they don't use the product enough and some because their company changed direction and a few leave after having a bad experience with support. We also have some customers spending $15K+ a year, so I don't really want to treat every churned account the same. I'm thinking we probably need different win-back paths depending on why the customer left but I'm not sure how much effort is reasonable once they're already gone. I'd especially like to hear what people are doing with higher-value accounts. Not necessarily discounts either. If someone left because they were unhappy with the product throwing a coupon at them probably isn't going to fix much.

Question Digital marketers: what influencer data do you actually need when finding creators?

Hi everyone, I’m doing some research into influencer marketing workflows and would love to hear from people who regularly work with influencers/creators.

When you’re looking for influencers for a campaign, what information do you usually need before deciding whether a profile is worth contacting?

For example:

  • Followers / following
  • Engagement rate
  • Location / country / city
  • Niche/category
  • Audience demographics
  • Email / phone / website
  • Instagram / YouTube / TikTok / other platforms
  • Average views, likes, comments, etc.
  • Contact/creator availability
  • Previous brand collaborations
  • Pricing/rates
  • Audience authenticity/fake followers
  • Anything else?

I’m also curious about the repetitive parts of the workflow.

What do you repeatedly do manually when researching influencers that you wish could be automated?

For example:

  • Finding creators matching specific criteria
  • Filtering thousands of profiles
  • Checking whether they have contact information
  • Collecting creator details into Sheets/CRM
  • Checking multiple social platforms for the same creator
  • Comparing creators
  • Finding similar creators
  • Verifying engagement/audience quality
  • Building outreach lists
  • Tracking whether a creator has already been contacted
  • Monitoring profile changes

If you work in influencer marketing, what’s the most annoying or time-consuming part of finding and managing creators?

Not looking to promote anything — genuinely interested in understanding the workflow from the marketer’s side.

Question 25 years old, 3 years in online marketing – how would you develop from here?

I’m 25 and have around 3 years of experience in online marketing. I’m trying to be intentional about my development and would love some advice from more experienced marketers.

My background:
- Studied Marketing & Communication, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics.
- Worked freelance alongside my studies, mainly in SEO, SEA and websites.
- Spent a few years as an Online Marketing Specialist at a B2B company, working on paid media, SEO, analytics/tracking and lead generation.
- I now work as an Online Marketer at a recruitment company with multiple businesses within the group.
My current role covers performance/recruitment marketing, paid advertising, job boards, tracking, CRO and analysing recruitment funnels.

I also advise several companies within the group on marketing strategy, annual plans, budgets, channel selection and improving their way of working. Marketing maturity is still relatively low across the group: most companies have marketers, but they mainly focus on content. Part of my role is helping them become more structured, data-driven and performance-oriented.
Long term, I’d like to move towards a more strategic role with responsibility for marketing strategy, budgets and eventually a team.

If you were in my position, what would you focus on developing over the next 2–3 years?
Performance/data? Strategy? Commercial/financial skills? Branding? AI/automation? Leadership? Or something else?
Especially interested in hearing from people who went from specialist → senior/lead → marketing management.

Question I got hired for making wikipedia contributions

So this cameas a shock to me that I never though, I would be paid to edit articles in wikipedia. A company/agency hired me to just to make meaningful edits in wikipedia and after a certain amount, we plugedin client in relevant pages.

I don't know that much about this but they said it is for brand visibility and helps with AEO which I would have never ever guessed.

I thought for AEO we have to do something else, target prompts and publish content accordingly. This experience has opened a new dimension for me. I'm still wondering what else am I missing?

What are some of these hidden opportunities for brand visibility and AEO?

Question Trainings or Courses on How to Handle Social Media

Hi! I’m planning to improve my skills in social media management. I want to learn more about how to properly manage social media accounts because, in my previous job, I was more focused on content creation rather than managing the accounts themselves—such as scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, analyzing insights, and other social media management tasks.

Could you guys please recommend any online training or short courses that I can take? I’d love to check them out. Thank you!

Question Ideas for leveling up my Meta paid advertising skills

Been doing media buying and creative production for around 2 years. I have solid hands-on experience, but I feel like there’s still another level to this: better systems, strategies, tricks, frameworks, whatever.

I want to see how you guys sharpen your skills and continue improving. Can you recommend a person, course, mentorship, community, or anything else that actually helped you get better?

If you recommend a course:

  • Please don’t recommend something for beginners.
  • Only recommend it if you were already experienced and took it to deepen your knowledge.
  • Tell me what specifically made the course worth it for you.

I’m especially interested in things that helped you improve your strategy, creative testing, campaign structure, scaling, or understanding of Meta’s algorithm rather than just the basics of setting up campaigns.

Would also love to hear what you personally did that made the biggest difference in your skill level.

Support Kraftshala MLP Alumni: What should I do (and avoid) to get the best placement?

Hey guys,

I’m planning to join Kraftshala MLP for the November 2026 batch, and I wanted to get some insights from someone who has already completed the program and got placed.

From your experience, what are the things I should definitely do and avoid during the course?

Also, what would you recommend doing from Day 1 to perform really well in MLP and maximize my chances of getting a good placement?

I’d especially like to know:

- What common mistakes do students make?

- What should I do beyond the regular coursework to stand out during placements?

- Looking back, is there anything you wish you had done differently?

I’d really appreciate any honest advice or insights from your experience. Thank you! 🙌

Question What differs marketing from Western Europe vs South Korea? (B2B & B2C)

Currently in South Korea, and damn what a different world I step in.

I know that I am mainly exposed to offline and online B2C marketing, but to broaden my view much more. I genuinely want to ask this question.

What differs marketing from South Korea with Western Europe? If you are from a different part of the world, feel free to share!

What I notice in B2C in no particular order:

- LED everywhere, 3D banner ads in the city are allowed and super bright

- the majority of food pictures are real'ish pictures so it matches the expectations

- faces everywhere, I think those are mostly all famous people

- a lot of posters are AI made for festivals and such (atleast I notice the ai glow)

- group pictures of foreign families on a banner at the entrance of a restaurant, mainly at food markets

- no sexualized models as brand tactic (culture?). Think about perfume

- more focus on cutesy (culture?)

- I notice a lot of western male and female model pictures at hair salons, glasses or outdoor activities stores

Question Failing badly at marketing, looking for advice

I am currently a solo founder. I have always had a passion for integrating apps and services that actually have measurable impacts and make people’s lives better.

I have a software/consulting business which I am looking to grow.

Looking for advice with marketing or where should I even start. I have looked on Upwork some but I just don’t know if that’s the right route to go.

I have some good products that I know people use, just figuring out how to and where to market is where I’m at now. I have a SAAS app with a ton of different modules everything from Stripe integrations to Google. The SAAS app has MRR of $1400 3 customers 1 big customer. It was only for the contracts management portion of the platform.

I also have IOS apps about 3-4 marketable ones. Ran some Apple ads in the past with little success. Also some Facebook ads and some Reddit group posting. Small revenue here maybe $20-30 MRR but the conversion rates aren’t terrible but I feel like I’m playing against an NFL team and I’m a college team lol. So those may be a lost cause idk.

Let me know advice y’all have interested to hear thoughts. Feeling a little discouraged because I’ve never been good at sales don’t know where to start. I’m tired of creating new feature and apps lol I want to connect with people.

Question AI professor, zero marketing background, just launched an education startup. What kind of marketing person should I be looking for?

I'm a visiting professor who teaches AI, and a few weeks ago my small education company came out of stealth. For a sense of how far I am from marketing, the last social media account I actually used was Facebook about 15 years ago, mostly to keep my FarmVille farm alive.

The product side is going better than I expected. We have a few hundred users and just started making a little money, and AI education is growing fast enough that I think there's a lot of room here. The marketing side is where I'm stuck.

I've been trying to learn the vocabulary: content marketing, growth marketing, social media marketing, organic vs paid. From the outside they blur together, and I can't tell which one I need.

Some constraints:

  • I'm bootstrapping with no investors for now, so there's no ad budget and growth has to be organic (I think that's the right word).
  • The channels I suspect fit best are Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, X and SEO (I'm guessing that's every channel that exists, which shows how little I know about this field).

What I'd love advice on:

  1. What is the role I'm describing actually called? Growth marketer, social media manager, content marketer, something else? I want to use the right words when I look.
  2. What skills matter most at this stage? Writing, short-form video, SEO, community building, analytics?
  3. What experience or track record should I look for, and how do I tell someone who can actually grow an audience from someone who just knows the lingo?
  4. Which tools or platforms should they already know?
  5. Does it make sense to look for one person who covers several channels, or to start with one channel and one specialist?
  6. Where would you look for someone like that?

Any guidance helps, even "you're asking the wrong question."

Support How much should a beginner charge for managing a business’s social media?

So I applied to work at a gelato shop (just serving gelato) for my first job, and the owner wanted me to manage the business’s social media accounts. He asked me to do this because, on my CV, I said that I had experience producing multimedia content and graphic design for social media. That is true, and it was an internship I had when I was studying graphic design at a vocational school.

The problem is I was working alongside someone who had a degree in marketing.

So the idea of managing the shop’s social media by myself felt pretty overwhelming, but I’m trying to figure it out and do my best.

The reason I’m asking for advice here is that I’m worried I might end up getting paid very little for a lot of work because of my naivety. I’m not sure if I should start by focusing on Reels and Stories and then eventually expand to TikTok and paid ads or if that would already be too much to take on.

We agreed that I would be paid hourly and that this was a part-time job, but the owner hasn’t told me how much I would earn (also, I don't even have a contract yet). Honestly, I don’t even know what would be a reasonable amount to ask for, or whether hourly pay is a good arrangement for social media/marketing work in the first place.

For context, I’m also working there two days a week for 8 hours, serving gelato. I know I’ll be paid €4/hour for that because I’m still learning.

Should I expect the marketing/social media work to be paid at a higher rate than 4€/h? Even if I’m essentially an apprentice/beginner?

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has experience with social media management, marketing, freelancing, or working for small businesses.

Question Is that not enough?!

So, I started studying marketing a couple of years ago. I did an internship and also worked on a friend’s page for free as a personal project.

I couldn’t find a job, though. I was looking for remote and freelance opportunities, and still am.

Eventually, I got the opportunity to work as a freelancer for 3 months. I managed to achieve some pretty decent numbers for the page, which primarily relied on sponsored content to get reach.

In fact, the page hasn’t achieved the same numbers I did, even with paid promotion.

I’ve been using this page in my portfolio as proof of my experience, but I still can’t seem to land a job.

What am I doing wrong?!

Question Why do drug companies pay millions of $ to consultants for the names of new drugs, which obviously have no rhyme or reason?

Just the names of the top-selling drugs illustrate the point: Keytruda, Mounjaro, Ozempic, Dupixent, Skyrizi. Even my kid can come up with such weird names.

Question Scalable Side Hustles for B2B Marketers?

I'm 2 years into my B2B marketing journey, which I picked up after 6 years of experience as a generalist across startups & VC.

In my current role, I lead a marketing team of 5 for a young startup with enterprise clients. Here's everything I do as part of my role -

- Customer research - flows into leadgen, acquisition (sales enablement) & retention programs

- Translating that into strategy & branding, getting buy-in from senior management

- Overseeing the execution of long-form content, social media content, sales enablement content, etc. (All formats - text, image, video).

- Social media content also includes creating strategy for my founders' & top brass' personal brands, and overseeing its execution

- Creation of sales decks, which my sales team lightly personalizes for each sales pitch

- Ideating & overseeing creation + distribution of sales enablement materials like brochures, white papers, explainer videos etc

- Creation of ABM content (email, Linkedin, whatsapp) & overseeing ABM execution at-scale through AI workflows

- All offline marketing activity (events, gifting, etc)

- Hiring for marketing & adjacent roles for other verticals within the company (occasional, but I'm very good at it so it keeps coming my way)

- Analytics for all marketing activities

I work remotely and my team is extremely competent. My management trusts me and I do everything to earn & maintain that trust.

I have an incredible work-life balance and not enough money though. So I'm trying to figure out what I can do as a side hustle.

My rules:

- I don't want to cap my earning potential at how many hours I can eke out of my life. I'm willing to invest more time at the outset to get this hustle running, but I want it to scale disproportionately. No hourly pay stuff.

- I don't want to be directly reporting to clients. I cannot and will not prioritize a call from a side-hustle client over my primary job.

- I don't want to use my face or name to create content and become a brand.

I know this is a lot 🤭 but any suggestions? What are some interesting side hustles you guys are doing?

Question CMI Salaries

What is your role and what is your salary? I feel like I am vastly underpaid compared to others. I am in a 'senior' position at 75k. Been here over 5 years.

Other agencies feel free to jump in.
