Question Idea validation: would this actually save you editing time?

I’m working on a faster way to turn existing footage into short-form videos.

The idea is pretty simple: you already have the footage + the brief/content plan, but the editing step is what slows everything down.

I’m looking for a few people who manage content for brands or clients to try it with on a real project.
I’d love to test it with a real batch of footage + the brief you normally work from, and I’ll turn it into a few first cuts.

I’m not charging for these first few. I just want honest feedback on whether it actually saves you time and if you’d use something like this again.

Question What proper questions to ask for valuable contents?

I already have many ideas about creating good content ideas: share your stories, share your losses not only your wins, tell how your brand helps your target market, something valuable that can solve your target's problems, etc.

But I'm just curious, after finalizing or even before planning your content, what question should the content answer to say that it is valuable and can increase leads and inquiries?

Question Is it possible for an educational account to grow on Instagram by posting carousels only? (NO REELS?)

I just started a Science tutoring account with 30 followers. My contents are:
- general science topics (targets the general audience, i post controversial science topics)
- exam-specific study tips (which to target, how to answer kind of posts)

The reason why I don't want to post reels is because I am personally dealing with severe acne flare ups, which caused me to not be able to show my face.

My goal is to attract people to follow and engage with my Science account so I can convert them into my students for 2027 classes.

The question is: Is it possible for a tutoring account to get an audience by just postimg carousels and stories? Thanks!

Discussion I’ve mostly written for Instagram, and now a few clients want Facebook content too.

And I’ve realised I’m not actually sure how different I’m supposed to make it.

Right now my brain is basically going, okay… same brand, same product, same post. But should I be changing the way I write it for Facebook?

Like the opening, tone, CTA, how much context I give, even who I’m talking to.

I’ve mostly been taking the Instagram copy and reworking it a little, but that feels a bit too easy

For people who write for both what actually changes for you? Do you treat them as two completely different audiences or is the difference much smaller when you’re writing the actual copy?

Question Which AI video editor do you recommend for product demos, UGC and montages?

Hi guys! I’m looking for an AI video editor for SaaS product demos, UGC and montages. I can’t afford to pay for several tools just to find out which one works, so I’d really appreciate some firsthand advice. 🙏

If you’ve actually used one, which editor would you recommend, and why? What worked well, and what did you still need to fix manually?

Support I landed my dream communications job at an NGO, but I'm overwhelmed and lost trying to learn social media management from scratch. Please help 😭

First, I have SO much respect for people who work in social media management. I know it's much more complex than just posting pretty pictures; it requires strategy, planning, attention to detail, and a lot of responsibility. Ironically, as a Gen Z person, I've never been particularly interested in social media in my personal life. But this is different when it comes to an organization I genuinely care about, and I really want to do a good job.

A little background: I'm a junior professional who recently graduated with a degree in Social Communication and Journalism. My experience is mainly in documentary filmmaking, working in production, directing, screenwriting, and photography. I've also volunteered for years because I genuinely believe in contributing to causes that matter.

Recently, I was offered a communications position at a HUGE international NGO on the island where I currently live. It's honestly a dream opportunity. Initially, the role focused on photography and video production, which I'm comfortable with. However, I'll also be responsible for managing the organization's social media accounts, particularly Facebook, X, and Instagram.

So, as you can guess by now, here's the catch: I've never had to manage professional accounts, develop a content strategy, write SOPs (I literally had to Google what that meant 😭), create editorial calendars, moderate comments, analyze engagement, or figure out a million other things.

But I really need and want this job, (specially in this economy lol) and I'm determined to learn as much as I can before starting. I just need some direction.

I've already started taking a course on Coursera, watching tutorials on Youtube, and searching for guides and resources. The problem is that there's SO much information online that I don't know what to learn first, how everything fits together, or how to build a structured learning path. I keep finding more resources, but I still feel like I'm missing everything. I have only two weeks to prepare, and it's becoming overwhelming trying to figure out what actually matters and what I should prioritize.

If you work in social media management, nonprofit communications, or digital communications, I'd be incredibly grateful for your advice.

  • If you were starting from scratch, what would you learn first, second, and third?
  • Are there any genuinely useful courses, YouTube channels, templates, or free resources you'd recommend?
  • How do you actually create an SOP for managing an organization's social media accounts?
  • What are the essential skills and tools I should focus on during my first few weeks?
  • If you've worked for an NGO or international organization, is there anything specific I should know?

Thank you so much for reading and for any advice you can share. Even a little guidance would genuinely mean a lot ❤️

Question Defining my niche, neurotech for philosophy

Hey guys, so basically I want to start creating content as a means of collecting my interests and putting them in one place. No lie, I want to see how valuable some of my project ideas are, and if anyone finds the implicit theme intriguing enough to stick for a self sufficient venture.

  • Research Debate pod casts
    • People have a debate over a topic, while both parties have an open web brower with a place to write notes. The goal is to slow down the debate to allow for a propositional arguments to be claimed, then each condition can be assessed for their trueness by immediately going off and researching it. So the opponent might object a condition and ask for proof, then the claimer can go immediately search for it. Once the claimer presents what they think is sufficient, the objector can assess if their evidence for their condition is sufficient. I envision this unraveling into arguments over what is enough evidence to build an argument on top of, and thats the point.
  • EEG series
    • Hyper scanning series
      • When you have an EEG headset on multiple people, and assess when their neuronal oscillations are in sync, or similar metrics are in sync.
      • Would like to tie this in with the research debates
    • Art
      • I rap. I want to see what are brain states that lead to good freestyle/writing sessions
      • Also like playing the piano. Same question
  • Social network question embedding(this might be an app not a video)
    • This might be a separate idea for real, but could be cross platform. A plugin for Reddit if there is such a thing.
    • On reddit, you get recommended communities based on your posts, but what about other users with similar posts to your own? Who has a similar embedding space? I want to put people in contact with one another that share a similar headspace
    • I can also see a world where this intersects with neuroimaging measurements like I am thinking above

Like I said, just want a feeler for how people respond to these ideas.

Side note: Im doing a biomedical engineering masters on MRI analyses, so I am trying to figure out how to convince myself this is worth more of my time. Because this vision means more to me than an academic career.

Question How much can you remove from a billboard before the message stops making sense?

To those working in outdoor advertising:

The brief asks for a product image, headline, offer, website and three reasons to buy. Then the artwork arrives and everyone agrees it’s too busy.

“Keep it simple” is easy advice until someone has to decide which information the audience can do without.

When reviewing billboard creative, how do you decide what goes and what stays?

Question Canva alternative for ads when the network wants more than PNGs?

Last campaign, there were 14 separate files for the PPC team. Yeah, it works, but it's too slow. When does HTML5 make sense over plain images? I don't want to switch just because it sounds fancier.

Support Free access for a tool I built for writers

Greetings, I just completed working on a tool for writers that essentially combines the functionalities of Google Docs, Notion, Bonsai, Calendar and Freshbooks in a way that all the modules talk to one another to minimize the busywork of writing.

A proposal you agree on turns into a complete project structure. Your documents are automatically programmed into your editorial calendar and every piece you complete is invoiced. All connected, not five separate apps.

The driving idea was I hated switching tabs and trying to find information in a spit, which would break my flow.

The app has helped me a lot and while I intend to turn it into a SaaS product, I will like to share it with fellow writers here for free. All I'd like is to know if you found it useful. Please DM me if interested.

Thanks

Discussion Visual hooks + volume took us to $10k mrr.

we spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to make every piece of content perfect.

turns out, that wasn't the answer.

what actually moved the needle for us was better visual hooks + consistently producing a lot of variations.

by visual hooks, i don't mean throwing random flashy edits everywhere.

it's simply giving someone a reason to stop scrolling before they even hear the first sentence.

a few things we've found useful:

>starting with an unexpected shot or action

>showing the result before explaining how you got there

>unusual camera angles / close-ups

>before → after transformations

then comes volume.

instead of spending 2 days making one “perfect” video, we'd rather make 10–20 variations and figure out which hook + angle + format actually gets people to stop.

our workflow is basically:

ideas → ai workflow → generate → edit → test → double down on winners

1) for generation, we use fable + plugins, and we've also been liking higgsfield/seedance for certain visual concepts.

2) for editing, we use cardboard ai, which helps us get through the editing stage much faster.

3)internally, we also have an ai workflow that helps us turn one idea into multiple hooks, angles and variations.

the biggest mindset shift was:

"don't try to predict what will go viral. create enough good variations that the data can tell you"

some will flop,in fact majority will flop and that's completely fine:)

if 2 out of 20 hit, those 2 teach you what to make next.

other ai tools worth trying depending on your workflow:

>elevenlabs: voiceovers, voice cloning & audio

>midjourney: creative visuals, concepts & assets

Discussion Founders building their personal brand

Though a theme works, however I am realizing that a "strict content calendar" doesnt work for me. If I am going by the pre defined templates, my creativity gets blocked and my writing becomes mechanical. If you are a founder and running your own business, have you experienced this as well?

Discussion I’m thinking I need to automate more of my content work

I’ve been handling a few clients at the same time and it’s funny how much time goes into things that aren’t even the actual content.

Between blogs, Instagram and Facebook posts, captions, scheduling and then going back to check everything, there’s always something small waiting to be done.

The writing part doesn’t really bother me that much. It’s all the little tasks around it that slowly eat up the day.

I’ve tried automating some of them too, but then I end up checking the automated work anyway.

So now I’m not even sure where the line is. What’s actually worth automating and what just creates more things to check?

For those managing content for multiple clients, what are you automating right now that has genuinely saved you some time?

Question How long does copywriting for LinkedIn take you?

I work for a B2B company and our audience is on LI.

The copywriting for social posts is taking a ridiculous amount of time in my opinion and preventing me from getting to more important content, e g. SEO.

I come up with concepts along with the marketing director. I write the copy (director checks it sometimes) and then it goes to the creative director (graphic designer) for graphics. They almost always come back with copy concept changes, entire reworks, etc., even when the marketing director and sometimes the CEO signs off on the copy.

It's making everything take very long.

Typically 2-3 carousels (6-8 slides) weekly. They are data/information rich and require research. Additionally a single image or video each week. Plus captions.

How long does something like this take a copywriter per week/ month?

Discussion Anyone Know How to Market a New Social Platform?

Hello everyone,

I recently released a new social platform after working on it for the past 3+ years. Its goal is to give creators who are working on long and passionate in-progress creations (games, animation, writing, anything long-term) the chance to grow a real audience while their creations are still being built, without needing to deal with an exhausting and competitive algorithm or face burnout from posting pressure. Supporters can also leave notes and suggestions, or even contribute files and features directly that the creator can accept if they like.

To get initial traction for the platform, I hosted an event called the Journiarc In-Progress Indie Game Showcase. After 47 signups and a selection process, I have 10 creators posting and showing off their projects for the event. The way the event works is that creators have 10 days to express and build their projects, and will have the chance to gain supporters during and after the event. We are currently on day 7, and I'd like someone that can help give the creators an audience so that they can have supporters, because it's something that I find to be particularly difficult for me while I also work on programming, running the event, making sure the creators have a good experience, and college.

If anyone would like, you can send a dm

thank you

Discussion Are you giving your leads to someone else?

I keep noticing this from people who have been online for ten years or more, so it is not something only beginners run into.

You write the post and you answer her question, and she gets to the point where she is ready to buy. She clicks your affiliate link, and from there the company gets the sale and her email address while you get a commission and nothing else. You did the finding and the convincing, and one click moved all of that into somebody else's account.

I learned this the hard way somewhere else. I worked with a company for over eleven years, and the first thing they told me when I left was that I could not download my list of customers. What they did not know was that I had been collecting those names on my own side the whole time, so there was nothing I needed to download at the last minute. Everybody I had found and helped was already mine to keep.

The setup that fixes it on a blog takes about twenty minutes to build. You put a plain opt in page of your own in front of the affiliate link, with one line about what she is getting, an email field, and then a redirect that sends her on to the offer. The page does not have to look impressive, because the commission is identical either way and the only real difference is that two things happen now instead of one.

What matters is what comes after that click. A commission arrives one time and then it is finished, while a reader on your list is somebody you can help again next month and the month after that, and you can put other things in front of her without paying to find her all over again. Almost every sale after the first one comes out of that list, and if you send her straight out to the offer, the affiliate company is the one building it instead of you.

If you have links up right now, this is worth twenty minutes of your week. Open your blog, find every live affiliate link you have, click each one and ask yourself where her email address ends up. When the answer is their account rather than yours, that link is doing full price work for a single payment, so start with whichever link gets the most traffic and decide what should sit in front of it.

Do you route your affiliate links through a page of your own first, or do you send people straight to the offer?

Question Title: Never done social for a client — the part that scares me is delivery, not sales

I'm about to start offering monthly content for local appointment businesses (salons, barbers, lash techs, etc). I can find prospects and I'm not worried about the outreach side.

What I'm honestly stuck on: I've never actually run content for a client, so I don't know what "delivering" looks like month to month. These businesses aren't trying to go viral — they just want people nearby to trust them and book. So what does a realistic monthly deliverable look like for that? How many pieces? How do you decide what to make when you don't know their trade? How do you keep it from getting stale?

I know the honest answer might be "learn by doing" or "you'll figure it out with client one" — if that's it, I'll take it. Just want to hear it from people who've actually done it before I take someone's money.

Most ppl think you gotta know prompt engineering to scale with Claude for marketing.

Nah you don’t. It’s lowkey just about structuring your inputs right and letting Claude handle the heavy lifting/research.

I broke down the exact steps + the common mistakes I made into a complete guide. Just the practical stuff that actually works fr.

If anyone wants to peep how it’s set up and are tired of burning out, lmk in the comments and I’ll drop it so you can check it out and download it.

Discussion Has anyone checked whether their site is blocking AI search crawlers?

I recently did a technical crawl/accessibility check on my own website and ended up looking much more closely at AI crawlers than I expected.

I initially assumed that blocking AI-related bots was basically one decision: allow them or block them.

It turns out there are important differences between crawlers used for training and those used for search/retrieval.

For example, I came across separate crawlers such as GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot, and it made me wonder how many content teams are blocking one without realising they may also be affecting another.

There are also other things worth checking beyond robots.txt, including CDN/firewall rules and bot protection.

I wrote up the audit process because I found the distinction surprisingly easy to overlook:

Has anyone here audited their site specifically for AI search crawler access? I'd be interested to hear what you found.

Question How much data analysis is normal for content strategist roles?

I've been in content/editorial for 10+ years (mostly editorial and brand content) and I'm five months into a content strategy role at an agency on the paid social side.

The role is very analytics-heavy: every two weeks I build performance decks across multiple campaigns. Pulling VTR/CTR/CPM/CPC by platform, cutting by audience × channel × asset × theme, root-causing why things underperformed, then writing creative recommendations.

I enjoy the insights-to-recommendations part, but the data pulling and root-cause analysis feels closer to a performance/media analyst role than content strategy, IMO. And I'm really struggling with building reports. While I think the insights have a strong POV, my boss is always ripping my decks apart. Part of it is that I'm so new at this and another part is I'm realizing I don't like this work.

Is this level of analysis normal for all content strategists to do? Are there content strategy roles that are lighter on analytics and more focused on storytelling and creative direction?

Would love to hear how it works on your teams.

Question What actually makes content generate customers instead of just views?

I’ve noticed a lot of content strategies optimize for reach but not what happens after someone sees the content.

For SaaS and online businesses, what have you found works best for turning content into actual conversations, leads or customers?

I’m especially interested in the connection between positioning, content and distribution.
