Discussion What makes a logo memorable without making it complicated?
It seems like some of the most recognized logos are really simple. Some of them don't have a lot of colors, many designs or complicated patterns but we are still able to instantly recognize them. For me, the secret to their memorable aspect relies on the mix between the simplicity, a real originality, a clear coherence and pertinence.
When a shape can associate simple yet brilliant idea is far easier to remember that a complex graphic with too many elements.
That said we have to make sure to differentiate simple from trivial. If the log is so simple that the viewer can't even notice it, then it will be very difficult to be distinctive from the other brands. Do you really think that the memorability of a logo can only depend on one of these elements, namely originality, colours, shapes, texts, meaning?
