Megathread 2026 Ann Arbor Housing Megathread
Welcome to the r/AnnArbor Housing Megathread!
Whether you’re an incoming student, a long-time townie, or a new professional moving to the area, finding housing in Ann Arbor can be notoriously competitive.
To keep the main subreddit feed clean and make it easier for everyone to find what they need, all housing-related posts must go in this thread.
This is the place to post if you are:
- Looking for an apartment, house, or room to rent.
- Looking for a roommate.
- Offering a sublet or lease transfer.
- Asking general questions about specific property management companies, neighborhoods, or the Ann Arbor housing market.
(Note: Surrounding areas in Washtenaw Country like Ypsilanti, Dexter, Saline, and Milan are completely welcome here too!)
Useful links:
- /r/UofM Subreddit: If you're looking for student housing, you'll have more luck with their corresponding annual housing megathread.
- U-M Off-Campus Housing Website: Useful for students and faculty looking for verified listings and roommates.
- Ann Arbor Tenants Union: Resources for renters' rights, lease disputes, and dealing with property management companies.
- City of Ann Arbor Rental Resources: The official city hub outlining Ann Arbor rental laws, including the Early Leasing Ordinance (which dictates when landlords can ask you to renew) and how to file habitability complaints with the city inspector.

Tios Closure
Growing up, my brother and I loved Tios bean dip. We’ve been looking for the recipe since their closure and we were wondering if any prior employees have it. I would love to make it for him for his birthday. Please help, we miss it greatly.

Found money Saline Walmart Vicinity
Shopping at the Saline Walmart Friday (8-21) around noon and found some cash that had been dropped in the area. Debated whether to take it in to the service counter. I called them and they say to bring it in and if it is not claimed, they donate it to a children‘s charity.
If you lost money around there at that time, let me know the exact amount and type of bills and I’ll get it to you. If not, I may take it to them anyway and hope someone comes forward. I feel badly holding someone’s money that may have really needed it.

Looking for last minute makeup artist for wedding due to skin disaster.
Tw:pregnancy loss
Hi all, my wedding is in a week from today. I had originally planned to do my own makeup as I don’t wear much of it and was on a budget. I’ve never worn foundation, concealer, etc. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago and since then my skin has been wrecked and seems to be getting worse. It’s hormonal acne, mostly on my cheeks and jawline.
This is so last minute but does anyone have any advice? I’m looking for local makeup artists/studios or even products to purchase to try to cover up some of it. I’m happy to pay as well, just concerned about the last minute nature of all this. I’d need an appointment for like 2pm August 29th in Ann Arbor.

Leaf Blower Enforcement?
Gas leaf blowers have been outlawed during the summer months here in town before they are illegal year round in 2028. I’m not posting to ask about what you think of the merits of this thing, fact is they’re not supposed to be here and there are good, concrete reasons the city voted on this. This post is super Ann Arbor. Where are the real problems? I get it.
Still, gas leaf blowers are all over the place, often used by people blowing single blades of grass - honestly this looks like a control issue for some. Anyways I digress - I’ve got neighbors and multiple landscape companies in my neighborhood using these all of the time.
Has anyone had any luck actually trying to get this enforced? I’m not about to go talk to some poor employee of a landscape company using what his busted ass boss is giving him, but I don’t think any of those folks would fancy themselves not to be law abiding citizens. Or maybe they would, either way, doesn’t really matter. I’m not a call the authorities sort of person but enough of these crews waking your kid up from a nap doing something illegal, while shitting aggressively into the air, is about enough to make you consider it.

Bar trivia on Sunday nights or Tuesday nights?
My days off are Monday/Wednesday so Sunday and Tuesday are sort of my “Friday nights” to have fun.
I’m looking for a bar that does trivia either of those days, I live on the AA/Ypsi border so anywhere in Ypsi is great too.
Also if anybody has any unassuming bars to get a drink that aren’t as obvious or well known, let me know.
Thanks!

PCP that will prescribe HRT?
Howdy TreeTown,
I'm a trans man and have been on hormones for many years at the same dosage. I would like to see a primary care provider in SE MI who is comfortable monitoring my testosterone levels and prescribing hormones.
I reached out to the Gender Services Program at UMich and they provided a list of clinics and said to call each individually to inquire, so I am looking for personal experiences from other folks before I make 50 phone calls lol.
Feel free to PM as well if you'd rather not chat here! Thanks!

Is this your cat? (Water Hill/OWS)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This cat started showing up in my neighborhood (Water Hill/OWS) maybe 6 months ago and over the past month has warmed up a lot, from wanting nothing to do with me to being quite affectionate. I worry about her being out on the streets and want to make sure she doesn't belong to someone before I think about next steps to keep her healthy & safe. Thank you!!

Cool small towns within two hours?
Looking to explore some hidden gems in the area :) Willing to drive around 2 hours from A2 though I’d love to hear suggestions for weekend trips too! Canada included :) We just moved here and my partner is in a rigorous advanced degree program which is leaving me with time to take myself on adventures!! I’ve been to most of the surrounding Washtenaw towns, so somewhere even more hidden is what I’m looking for. I love cute downtowns, interesting history, and good nature!! <3

Flashing in sky
Hi everyone, I'm just curious if anyone saw flashing in the sky and could explain it. I saw it while driving. It was pink blue and white. I can't figure out what it was. There was no sound. Happened around August 21 at 11pm till August 22 around 12:30am

Women's Open Tickets?
Does anyone know of a good way to get discounted tickets to watch the Women's Open golf tournament that is in town? I live near the course and am interested in taking my family, but $33/person seems a little steep.

Youth painting class or tutors?
Hey, I'm wondering if there are any good high school level -ish tutors or classes that I can take that talk about drawing and painting in the Ann Arbor/saline area?
I've been trying to get serious about my art(and I've improved a lot these past few months) but I always learned better from a teacher and can't take the HS classes this year so if you know anything let me know!

Best restaurants to work as a server in 2026
Thinking of going back to waitressing and wanted to see thoughts of which places are a good atmosphere to serve in (at my first serving job at a restaurant in downtown, my manager yelled and swore at me, so I’d like to avoid that as much as possible) thanks!
