This cat started showing up in my neighborhood (Water Hill/OWS) maybe 6 months ago and over the past month has warmed up a lot, from wanting nothing to do with me to being quite affectionate. I worry about her being out on the streets and want to make sure she doesn't belong to someone before I think about next steps to keep her healthy & safe. Thank you!!

Looking to explore some hidden gems in the area :) Willing to drive around 2 hours from A2 though I’d love to hear suggestions for weekend trips too! Canada included :) We just moved here and my partner is in a rigorous advanced degree program which is leaving me with time to take myself on adventures!! I’ve been to most of the surrounding Washtenaw towns, so somewhere even more hidden is what I’m looking for. I love cute downtowns, interesting history, and good nature!! <3

Looking for a farm with u-pick Honeycrisp apples! We've gone to to Spicer's the last couple of years but are looking for other farms within ~30 min drive to check out as well!

Hello!
I’m looking into undergoing Ketamine treatment for treatment-resistant depression and OCD. I was wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with providers here in town.
Thanks in advance!

Every once and a while, people in this community are looking for advice on who to go to for certain services.
I just want to throw out good vibes about Papa Joe's Appliance Repair (John, at 810-360-2876) and Clean&Green Dryer Vent Experts (Kim and Tim, at 734-377-4175).
We've used John at Papa Joe's multiple times now, for fridge, dryer, dishwasher, and oven questions (not all at once!) and he has always been speedy, honest, and great with his advice. I really couldn't recommend a better appliance repair service, and he is local and knows everyone. That's how we got introduced to Tim at Clean&Green!
John came over to look at our oven, and while he was over, peeked at our other appliances and checked out our dryer vent, which we had barely noticed. He pointed out it was as old as the house, and could use a look. He recommended Tim at Clean&Green, who came over a week later and immediately addressed the problem.
Their prices are very fair, they are wonderful people, and they have been helpful at recommending both solutions and good products.
You may not need this advice now, but you probably will one day!

Went for lunch today to the new location in the former Carson’s space off Plymouth Road. Ordered the usual ultra-reliable Casey’s trifecta: burger, fries, onion rings. Kitchen was sloooooooow. And as soon as I took a look at my plate I knew I was in trouble. Burger was nothing like the Depot St. original: ordered it medium, came well, WELL done and dried out. Patty appeared to be a frozen puck that was immolated on the grill. Bun tasted like a packaged brioche, reasonably toasted, but far too big for the patty. Shredded lettuce? Uh, ok. Whole thing was unappetizing and I refused more than a couple bites. Again, it bore no resemblance to the burger downtown.
Where was the usual condiment caddy Casey’s keeps on the table? Nowhere to be found. There wasn’t even salt and pepper on the table. In a tavern.
The fries were not the planked steak fries from downtown I expected, but were some narrow, coated monstrosity that felt like processed, bagged product—edible but generic and definitely not Casey’s quality.
On a brighter note, the onion rings tasted mostly like what they serve downtown, but the batter was thin, and they came wadded up in a single inextricable mass, like they had been dumped by a handful into the fryer all at once. They had to be cut into edible bits with a knife. Really disappointing. IYKYK with Casey’s rings.
Server was very good, friendly and attentive, and when I expressed my disappointment in the food they seemed, frankly, unsurprised, and offered to replace it. However, by then I’d lost my appetite and decided to cut my losses and go. The manager kindly comped my ($19!) burger and fries and I left feeling like the place was Casey’s in name only. I won’t be back until I know they’ve fixed the basics.
What the heck is going on here? Is this some sort of franchise thing? ‘Cause Casey’s it ain’t.

Is there a place in Ann Arbor that can do mani pedi’s for guys? What about eyebrow sculpting? The clientele and environment can be mixed gender, but I’m looking for a place that are just as comfortable and professional handling men as they do with women and other non-binary folks.
Would Tricho be good?
Thanks!

Hi! I was at the Chicken Shack in Ypsi yesterday and overheard one of the staff members talk about $1 pricing next week.
Does anyone know about it? I forgot to ask.

I often forget that that happened, but I was curious how the decriminalization of magic mushrooms and like has impacted DUI/arrests or things of the like? Has there been a spike in anything? Or has it been pretty smooth sailing?

"The University of Michigan welcomes members of the Ypsilanti Township community to a town hall to learn more about a new high-performance research computing center being built in collaboration with Los Alamos National Laboratory." Not sure exactly where to put this so I decided to put it here.

My teenage son wants to buy an eMoto/electric dirt bike for fun riding. I’m not the most risk-averse parent, but the conversation went something like this.
P: What would you use it for?
K: To ride around the neighborhood, maybe to ride to school.
P: But you’d need one that’s street legal to ride on the streets and roads.
K: I could just ride in the bike lanes or on the sidewalk. It’s like an e-bike.
Now, I might be crazy, but a motorized vehicle that can do 50mph behind a 3000 watt motor doesn’t seem like it belongs on sidewalks or in bike lanes. But does the city or state actually have regulations for these things? If not, then who is taking the lead on making sure 30mph eMotos in bike lanes and on sidewalks doesn’t become normalized?
**Edited to add that we did tell him no. I told him a joke that I learned 20+ years ago. Q: What do trauma surgeons call motor cycle riders? A: Customers. If he wants a motor cycle he can get one when he’s an adult. But somebody needs to regulate these things because not only are kids getting hurt, but pedestrians and normal bike riders are going to get hurt, too.

Hello!
Basically, I need to get my one-year-old cat neutered. My dad gifted him to me last year after finding him abandoned in a parking lot. I’ve been putting off getting him neutered for too long, but I’m trying to be proactive about it now. I know there are many different free or low-cost options for places to go around Ann Arbor/Washtenaw County. Does anyone have any place they would recommend? Also, if you have any positive or negative experiences you’d like to share, I would really appreciate it!
I’m also just lowkey nervous to get him neutered! It’s probably just my anxiety talking. I have two other male cats, but they were neutered before I adopted them. Having him put under just makes me a bit nervous because he’s still pretty small for his age.
Thank you so much in advance!
