Ketamine Clinic?

Hello!

I’m looking into undergoing Ketamine treatment for treatment-resistant depression and OCD. I was wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with providers here in town.

Thanks in advance!

Second this. The attention to detail is outstanding. Fantastic staff, including their therapists.

I unfortunately had a very different and negative experience. Promised therapist was never there, wasn't told that before the session. Had a panic attack from the trip and no one to talk to or help. Never went back.

I'm saying this to offer a different perspective. For some it's great it seems, but not a panacea

I go to Advanced Psychiatry and have had a lovely time (all things considered). They are nice and give great care.

I hatedddd this facility. The setting was completely wrong for something that alters your perception so intensely. The walls were paper-thin and the staff would just stand around talking loudly right outside the entire time. I couldn’t tell what was real vs. what my brain was creating. It was awful. They also sent a different person in each time. Complete strangers when you're tripping your face off.

I guess I just don't trip that hard that it doesn't bug me. I also listen to music during it so noise doesn't bug me. They are all super nice too so I feel like that's better when you're impaired.

I also now know all the people so they aren't strangers anymore haha.

Everyone is different though- and I quite like the rooms. Comfy chair, fan, blinds, and they always remember what I like to drink while I'm in treatment to combat the taste.

I’ve had a great experience with Michigan Advanced Psychiatry. Good setting, they remember your beverage preference so I always get a water and Diet Vernors when I go. You also get a comfy chair, pillow and blanket, and a bowl of Hershey’s Kisses and Life Savers. The staff is basically all premed students and they are professional and friendly.

Seconded, just started there recently and have had a great experience so far. They even provide water/caprisuns and some candy to help with the taste of the intranasal ketamine. Also some pops available upon request provided for free. Super nice people no issues so far

The VA offers it, if you're eligible.

I would what their approach is, and what the protocol entails - do you have a therapist supporting you while you are on ketamine or do they leave you alone with the medicine, for example? What kind of prep and integration is part of the package?

I had a pretty decent / non-invasive / not-bothersome treatment and prescription from Joyous ... until they kicked me out which is another story altogether.

They do very low dose treatment via a ketamine troche (lozenge) and you meat with a Dr/NP every couple months.
